2 Bedroom unit or 2 Studios?

Family of 6 booking their first DVC visit. We have been to Disney plenty of times but normally stay at Moderate resorts and book 2 standard rooms adjoining. Looking at the point charts, it seems that 2 studios would be less points than 1 2BR unit. Do all resorts have Studio units with connecting door?

The only resort with connecting studios would be the Poly. Then it is only a request and not a guarantee. Most people say they haven't had any problems getting that but not everyone has. At other resorts you could end up very far away from each other. The thing with a 2 bedroom is you get your kitchen and laundry facilities and have a common area to relax. I guess it depends on the group and how you really want spend your time and points.

Yes, if you want to be near each other, you need a 2 bedroom. For us, that also makes it a real vacation. A living room, nice balcony, room to stretch out.

I'd do the 2 BR, as noted, other than VB & Poly, there are no connection studios. Do a cheaper resort if needed to accommodate this need.

A dedicated 2 BR at SSR, AK-K or OKW are all less points than 2 poly studios and each will have 2 real beds in the 2nd BR.

If this is a serious cost issue for you, I would recommend that you never, ever do a two bedroom. Because once you try it, you’ll never go back to 2 studios.

What are the ages of the family members? You'd need at least one person 18 or older in the second studio. If only you and spouse are 18 or older, you'd have to split up for your stay.
