Hello,
I have a few questions about the 2 BR at BWV.

I think I understand that you can request a "dedicated" or a "lockoff" with the difference being the "dedicated" has 2 beds and an extra closet with no extra door to the hallway and a "lockoff" is a combination of a studio and a one bedroom. Is that correct?

If you get a "lockoff" do you get room keys from the outside hall to each unit and the connecting door opened? Or does everyone need to enter the unit from the one bedroom and proceed to the studio through the connecting door?

I am planning on booking a Standard View at the 11 month window. How many dedicated two bedrooms are there vs. how many lockoffs in the standard view at BWV? In other words, what are my chances of getting a lockoff?

The reason is, I would like a "lockoff" so the grandparents can have some privacy, a sofa, their own small fridge and coffeemaker, etc. And if they choose to go into EPCOT one evening for dinner and illuminations and the children are asleep in the living room, they do not disturb the kids when they return. If they want to make coffee at 6:00 a.m. they can do it and have milk in the fridge. But if we want to go out one evening - the connecting door is open to watch the children without having to come sit in our unit. Does it make you (and Disney) think I am trying to get "around" booking two seperate units?

BWV only has lockoff's no dedicated 2br
Rooms: 383 (532 max)
Dedicated Studio: 97
Dedicated One Bedroom: 130
Dedicated Two Bedroom: 0
Lockoff Two Bedroom: 149
(Each can be booked separately as 1B and Studio)
Grand Villas: 7
and the lockoffs have seperate doors to hallway and a connecting door.

Yes. The keys will work on both outside doors. The inside door will need to opened from within each room, no key slots.

Anyone ever been able to restrict access to the studio door with a room key? My son and a friend will be sleeping in the studio portion of our 2-bedroom and I want them to use the 1 bedroom outside access door (so I know when they come and go.)
Thanks

You could probably request that there key cards only open the 1br door all the times we stayed our cards opened both, but I dont see why they cant set it up the way you want.

There is absolutely nothing you can do to keep them from leaving out the studio door. If you want to keep them from coming in the studio door, you could always take away their keys.

You can't keep them from going out the studio door, but you could prevent them from coming in the studio door. Besides the lock, there is also a bar you can use to block the door so that they can't open the door from outside (I don't know how to explain it except that is is like a solid chain).

As others have said you can't keep them from leaving that way but I know they can restrict which door the keys will open. When we checked into VWL to a 2 BR lockoff the keys only opened the door to the 1 BR side until we called down and had it fixed. You could also just leave the door between the studio and the one BR open until you hear them come in if that is a big concern. The security type lock on the inside definitely keeps someone from entering the unit. My son had to call me on his cell when someone in our 2BR dedicated unit at OKW pushed it into place while he was out one night. Fortunately he had the phone or we would have found him asleep outside the door in the morning as I didn't hear him knock on the door.
