2 Aussies One 9 week adventure accross the USA including 2 Disney Castles!:)11/5-01/5

Agh so excited this time in 2 months I will be in Anaheim!! Probably ready for a sleep but at least I would have arrived! Excited!!! :cool1:

Are you down to 2 months??? OMG. The time will really fly.

Have you worked out where you want to eat yet?

Nop still havent worked out what I want to eat. we are easy on meals pretty much eat everything. I know i want to do Hoop de doo revue and the tomorrow land terrace fireworks dessert buffet but who knows what else. DB says just book anything lol:scared1:

OK So I am looking at getting the 14 day pass for Australian's I think UK visitors can get it too. Because we will be right across from disneyland for 11 days and its cheaper than buying a 6 day hopper pass.

And I know we can just pop over of a night time. I am still contemplating if i am going to hire a car or if I am just going to book tours to knotts berry farm. The last time I was away i didnt do any driving so I am kinda scared this time.

Ok so I kind of feel like im talking to myself but thats ok.

I am contemplating changing my 11 days at Disneyland to 5 days at Disneyland and a Disney Mexican Rivera cruise has anyone done this cruise before? Is it worth it??

I am just trying to get in a surprise for DB as he has never been overseas and i want to have something that he doesn't know about!!!

Any Ideas??

Thanks

I ended up ditching my PTR and just blogging instead. Pretty much PIO was my only reader....

Anywho, I'd do the Mexican Riviera Cruise. 11 Days in Disneyland is a lot. We only spent 3 days there and while a few extra days would have been nice after 11 days I would be craving something new. Just my 2 cents. ;)

We will be doing a trip up to six flags and other places not spending the whole time at Disneyland.

Oh im so torn there is a band playing at downtown disney at house of blues we will have to miss that if we go on the cruise. OH its so Hard.

I think i would weigh up what I would see over those 11 days vs what I would be experiencing and seeing on the second cruise.

It sounds like it is all coming together really well.

As for your question before, I head off in mid January, so still in the planning stages

11 days is eay to fill on land. Are you going to Universal Studios? How about an LA / Beverly Hills tour?. You could also do a day trip down to San Diego to Sea World or the Zoo. And then ofcourse there is shopping as well. You trip sounds awesome, a 9 week trip would be a dream come true for me. I hope you have an awesome time.

Ooooh.....I have other subscribers to keep me company! :thumbsup2

Lauren - don't look at me for any ideas on the cruise. I only have to see waves and I throw up. Its the only form of travel that I get sick from. :confused3

11 days in ANAHEIM is easy to fill in. Shopping, going to LA proper...lots to do there....San Diego....shopping, shopping, beach, shopping....House of Blues.....shopping....

And if you were looking for days to fill, there is a place that does gondola rides out at Naples. I really wanted to do it...but the wind got the better of me.

Plus, you could always make a side trip out to Catalina Island, instead of the cruise.

Don't worry Lauren you are not alone!!!!! I stop in everyday to see if you have written more for me to enjoy!!!! Keep up the good work and I'm so happy about your trip!!!!

Thanks Wanna,

Ok So Have decided to sat in Anaheim for the 11 days, Will do a few days Disneyland and then a day trip to Mexico, six flags etc. Plus some shopping trips to the citadel. :) I love shopping But being that its 9 weeks I cant get too carried away in the first few weeks.

We are flying southwest for most our flights except the Las Vegas to New york flight. Only because delta has a red eye flight. So will have to keep to one suitcase until then :)

Nothing else exciting happening at the moment but its down to 51 days so im under 8 weeks!! Well Friday will be 7 weeks YAY. Getting so much closer now!!:cool1:

I would hire a car, it's fun! It gives you so much freedom!

Just a thought, don't know if it's possible, but what if you take the things you buy shopping and ship them home or to a neighbor or family member. This way you could shop more and not fill up your suitcases!!! :)

Yes I am thinking of shipping them home to my mum. She is coming over on the boat from Melbourne to Tasmania with us when we get back because it costs us about 800 extra per person to add on our flights to connect to tassie. Which sucks its not our fault that the stupid airlines dont fly international from here. To get from melb to tassie on the boat its about 500 total including car for 2 of us so we are thinking we will send stuff back to mum then shove it in the car and sail on home.

I have seen on the ups site you can get large international pre paid boxes for $55 i think I will do that and get a few of them just put them in my suitcase then we can just send it whenever and postage is already paid!!

Still here and catching up.

Are you planning on going to Tijuana for the day or a bit further down? Tijuana used to be a great day trip from LA/San Diego....it still can be....but be aware that there are drug wars down there and stick to the main streets.

Pity there aren't any cheap flights from Tassie to Melbourne!!!

Yeah we are planning on doing the day trip with grayline anaheim.

The cheap flights are ok its the excess baggage they try to charge you! :rolleyes1

I argued black and blue 2 years ago and managed to get on the flight with no excess charged but last year they wanted to charge us $1400 so we walked around to the air express terminal and sent it home for $400 and it was on the same flight we just picked it up the next day!

WOW!! I had no idea it was this bad for you. Wonder if it is the same for anyone travelling from any city that isn't Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane! :sad2:
