I'm looking for opinions here. I'm wondering how much you guys would think or have spent on food for just two adults per day? What is a realistic amount I should consider spending for us each day...opinions please??

I'm second guessing my original reservation for just 5days with upgraded dining during our surprise September visit. I can't ask my husband because it's a surprise for him.

Running the numbers, we could stay for 7 days for about the same price as the 5days with quick service dining.

It depends where you go. Specialty dining? Use the spreadsheet in my sig. It will estimate everything for you.

It really does depend on you, and how you behave on vacation. I normally don't eat much, more of a one-big-meal and the rest is snacks all day, but in Disney I eat everything, literally. LOL. Same with the DBF; he eats like the world will run out of food tomorrow.

If you think you won't eat much, the Quick Service should work. But if you want special experiences/character dining, you might want to think the regular Dining Plan, or pay for those experiences OOP, which is $$$.

I definitely found the spreadsheet to be VERY helpful when trying to crunch numbers of the various plans, that's for sure. It definitely depends on what time of day you eat and where you eat as well. On our last trip, we found the standard DP to be enough food. Outside of all of our meals and snacks, we spend $4.

When H and I went to DL (just the two of us) we planned on $100/day, knowing we'd not use all of it, but wanting to be able to splurge if we wanted. We had one big meal a day and then snacked our way around DL and CA. We didn't spend much more than $75 a day. I haven't experienced WDW as a couple/family yet, but I planned on $100 once again and lucked out with the QSD FD pin. We upgraded it to a regular DDP (for 7 days) for less than what I budgeted 3 days at.

But as someone else stated, it depends on your eating style and your preferences. H and I would rather (for the most part) eat seven, $10 snacks (sharing) than one sit down $70 meal, so we can get by with "less". When we do sit for TS, we tend to share entrees and order an appetizer, in order to try more of what a place has to offer.
