2 adults and 3 kids - how will seating on ride vehicles work?

Will be in DL in July. It will be me and my wife, my daughter (age 8), and twin sons (will be 7) who are more cautious with rides and would do better to sit with an adult on a faster ride.

We're interested in doing these rides for which I"m not sure how the seating is and interested in hearing about their seating. Specifically would they allow seating for 3 (which would allow my two sons to sit with me, and my daughter could sit with my wife)?

- Splash mountain
- Big Thunder Mountain
- Space Mountain
- Matterhorn
- Mr Toad
- California Screamin'
- Peter Pan
- Autopia

Do you see a problem with any of these such that one of my kids may need to sit alone or with someone they don't know?

How tall are your kids? My 7 year old just came in a 1/2" short to drive Autopia & they wouldn't let him go without me. He wanted to have his own car, but they were strict about the height requirement.

Splash is single bench seating one right behind the other. The last seat in the log will accommodate 2 riders (an adult and a smallish child).

Big Thunder can seat an medium sized adult and 2 small kids in one row.

Space & Screamin seat only 2 across, so your daughter will have to ride single if the boys want to be with each parent.

Peter Pan, Toad and Autopia can accommodate a medium adult and 2 small kids. Although with Autopia, you might want to do a kid swap so each child gets their own turn to drive.

- Splash mountain - You're sitting single file in a log, so everyone will sit in a line in front of each other. The last row on the log allows adults to sit together with a small child
- Big Thunder Mountain - Two adults or one adult and two small children can fit per row
- Space Mountain -Seating in pairs (2 seats per row)
- Matterhorn - You can sit as a single or straddle one of the kids
- Mr Toad - Two per car (one "driver", one passenger)
- California Screamin' - Two per row
- Peter Pan - Two or three per ship
- Autopia - I believe it's just two - one driver, one passenger

They generally won't make your kids sit with someone they don't know, but on a few of those rides your kids will not be able to sit next to a parent. I might suggest on rides like Space/Screamin' where only two fit per row that you maybe put two kids together so that one kid doesn't have to be completely alone.

I would think with kids of those ages that would be better & have one of the adults sit alone. Good suggestion. I guess it really depends on the kids.

When we were there we had more kids than adults and one thing that worked for us for Space (none of the kids were tall enough for California Screamin) was to split up. One adult would take one kid on Space, while another would take kids on Star Tours or we would go over to Fantasyland, then we would flip flop the adults/kids. Sometimes one adult would have to ride an extra time, it just depending on which kids wanted to ride what. (we had 2 5 year olds and 2 7 year olds and one infant with 3 adults) It worked for us because all of the kids that were with us were either too young to ride alone or they wanted to ride with an adult.
