We own at VWL, and are on the waitlist for 100 additional points at BCV.

After reading some posts, I am now questioning whether I am better off asking for two 50 point contracts instead of one 100 point contract? Some posters have mentioned smaller contracts may be more desireable in the resale market (although I can't imagine selling now, who knows what the future brings....) Do posters think there would be much of a difference in interest between one 100 point contact, and two 50s?

One thing to consider, and it all depends on timing, is that Disney is going to start charging the closing costs for contracts. So if you purchase two contracts instead of one, you'll pay about twice the closing costs.

You might want two contracts if:

1. You may want to sell one later if you decide you have too many points.
2. You may want to be able to will them to two separate heirs.
3. You want to own contracts at two different resorts (EG 50 points at SSR and 50 points at BCV, instead of a single 100 point contract somewhere).

If you're getting them via waitlist I would do two 50s instead of one 100 for the reasons mentioned above. We added two 25s back in March as we wanted 50 additional points. With resale the closing cost would have favored a single contract, but with no closing cost via Disney the two smaller contracts were a no brainer for me. If you find your vacation habits changing and you have an excess of points you can sell just 1 contract if you want. I see no downside to 2 smaller contracts vs. 1 large one, yet many advantages.

I have to agree; you get several advantages with the smaller contracts, and the small contracts are so easy to sell!
