2/9/2013 - Fantasy Mardi Gras Cruise *****

I'm getting soo excited! We booked the all day sail and snorkel excursion in St. Thomas. I think in Puerto Rico we will do our own thing. Maybe the forts and a beach. It's getting real now!!!

Crazy busy here but thinking of the cruise! I was working late last night and I got an itinerary change email from Delta for the return flight to later in the day. I'm cruising with a party of 12 and 10 of us WERE all booked for same flights and confirmed seating. I thought no biggie, it's just a few hours later and one small layover like we had. Ha, after a few hours of sleep I checked and found multiple itinerary change emails to find out our party of 10 was all split up into 4 different return flights back. Uh oh as my mind raced about the minor that they put on a flight by themself (who's parent's aren't going on the cruise!!) to we won't get back at same time meaning shuttle arrangements are messed up to -I need to call Delta NOW! Guess what-we are now all put on one of the new flights that they had moved some of us to and it's a non-stop flight back...Pixie Dust!!!:wizard:

We signed up for 11 AM port times and was able to actually get Palo brunch. That will be a first for me as it has always been filled up with no openings. I booked some excursions and can't wait for the newbies in our group to be able to book too! And our new passports arrived today! :worship:

I just saw navigators from the past Porto Rico cruise which showed formal night on Sunday and semi on Thursday. I can't copy links yet (don't have my 10 responses yet) but the title is "in photo Rico now". Hope this helps:). Getting very excited!!!

Yes, formal is first sea day (ignoring embarkation) so it should be Sunday.

We are thinking the same for San Juan, a walk around and see the forts etc. followed by a taxi ride to a beach. Or maybe the beach first? We are almost certainly just beaching on St Thomas, DS and I don't snorkel, but maybe it's time we gave it a go!

How old is your DS? Mine is 11. He's never snorkeled before so I wanted to book an excursion that goes to a beach also. But I think he will enjoy it. I also have a 5 year old DD that will be with us also. Not sure how she will like it either. I may have to chill with her by the boat. I couldn't pass up going to 2 beaches that have gotten great reviews!

DS has just gone 6 and is learning to swim - he can only manage a very short distance at the moment, but is very confident in the water and loves diving down. He is a bit like a small seal at the swimming pool. Was thinking of maybe getting him a mask and snorkel so he can have a try on a warm beach as our sea is too cold at home! Not sure about an actual snorkel excursion, am still thinking about it.

Woo hoo! Everyone in my group is PIF and feeling oh so real like this is really going to happen!!! I'm looking at the Port Canaveral webcam and enjoying the sunny view. SIL is coming over and I'm sure we'll do some cruise planning and maybe work on FE gifts. :yay:

Hi everyone! Two pieces of news this evening.

First - Fish Extender Exchange!

I've set up the Roll Call with two FE groups to start - Mickey and Minnie. Each of those lists has 13 staterooms on it, and will not get larger. They are loosely grouped by deck; we were able to have an even split at stateroom number 8000, which will limit the stair-climbing required. (But we still have the ship covered bow to stern!)

To see your list, just visit the Roll Call list or issue a Full Roll Call request using the Data Request Form. There's a new column showing which list you're on. (Alternatively, you can request a print of the FE Exchange list you are on.) Also, and this is important, please confirm your stateroom number, especially GTY folks.

o Data Request Form http://goo.gl/AF9u8

It's not too late to join in - I'll just keep creating more groups to accommodate folks. Newcomers, please look at post #1 in this thread for info about joining the Roll Call & FE Exchange.

Thanks to everyone who offered suggestions and critiques about list creation!

Second - Meet & Greet!

Robin & I have been chatting about this, and would love to hear from others. We're thinking that a traditional, informal M&G would be a great way for us all to put some faces & names together. Here's the proposal:

Day: Day 1, Embarkation Day
Time: 3:00 PM
Location: D-Lounge, Deck 4, Midship

There are no services available at that time, but the space has been open and used for Disboard M&G activities on previous cruises. Everyone's invited!

Boat Drill is at 3:45, followed by Sail-Away Party. What do you think, is 45 minutes enough time, or should we start earlier?

(Would anyone like to volunteer to formalize this event a bit more?)

Time to sign off...
David (DH of Mog's Mom)

Thank you David for all of your hard work for formalizing the FE exchange....I can't wait to start the crafting.... WOO HOO....:cool1:

Thank you David for all of your hard work for formalizing the FE exchange.

Thanks Robin! It keeps me from doing less constructive activities. pirate:

UPDATE! You can now request your personal FE List!

I just added that to the system a few minutes ago, so if you run into any problems let me know and I'll get them addressed ASAP!

Happy Turkey Day to all our American friends!

I would appreciate a heads up if anyone is going to give up a family cabana.:goodvibes

My family is crossing their fingers!

Your KTTW card will list your dining rotation. There will also be dining tickets in your stateroom that will show your dining rotation and time.

We are no longer going on this cruise. If we could be removed from the FE list also that would be greatly appreciated. Our traveling companions jotabs will not be going also. I hope this doesn't cause anyone trouble from the FE list(Mickey.) My deepest apologies. Hope everyone has a wonderful trip.

Hey everyone - not been around - been really busy. 15 more days and DD will know we are going!!!

I am still looking for a Palo brunch partner or 2 - I have an 11:30am brunch on the 2nd sea day if anyone wants to join me - otherwise I am going to cancel because I don't like to go somewhere like that alone! :)

Getting so close now!!!!
