2/9/2008 - Valentine Cruise 7 Night Western - Anyone On The Love Boat ?

Is anyone packed yet? Or have you not packed a thing?? I have everything laid out on the guest bed in piles and am packing a little here and a little there. Hard coming from temps where we hardly get above 0F and have to plan for nice weather!! It is hard to even get in that mindset!!

Can't wait to meet everyone!

Kristine

You're farther along than we are. We do have a smashing good list of things to pack so far!

Not only haven't started...haven't even gotten a really good plan of what to bring yet.

I can recommend packing a lot less than you think you need. For the last cruise I made a point to really cut back and I still had too much.

I've started THINKING about it...does that count!?!?! :lmao: Actually I bought DS some shorts, a new suit, and swim trunks. I've pulled my & DH's dress clothes.... And started compiling a list and throwing stuff in the guestroom that NEEDS to be packed....nothing too organized though. My dearest friends  have been bothering me about my birthday.....I told them I wasn't celebrating this year. I'm the youngest of the group of us and I think they're just trying to be funny! :scared1: So they've been monopolizing my time. I just need to get through the next few days....then I'm hoping to have more time to get things organized and together.

Hello,

Aren't we supposed to be getting "cruise documents" at some point. Has anyone received anything yet?

Thanks!

Not yet, but apparently they've been showing up right about the two week point so I expect to see them sometime around Friday.

Whoa, only TWO WEEKS left? :scared1: :woohoo: :scared1:

Those smilies are how we feel exactly. Part glee and part "time to panic"!

I keep looking for my docs, but not here yet. We are heading out two weeks from tomorrow so lots of excitment building here! I have piles ready to be packed but no packing has happened yet. I don't want to be up late the night before so I had better get busy! :laundy:

That's exactly what I've done too ... clothes are all on the guest bed in piles!:rotfl2: Mine and our two girls' anyway ... DH likes to pack himself (with my help of course) and he doesn't like to do anthing in advance. He does his packing the night before we leave usually ... it drives me nuts!
We're at about 6 or 7 degrees right now as well ... where in Canada do you live?

Hi all :wave2:

My suitcases have been sitting in the middle of my living room ever since we got them down from the attic last weekend. Maybe this weekend I'll bring them into the bedroom. :thumbsup2

Jackie, We're in Alberta--I'm a Colorado native, my hubby is a Florida native. We will be moving back to the US this summer--yeah!!! It is ridiculous how cold it can get here. If it is above 0F, I think it is warm!! It was like 15F the other day and I felt like I barely needed a coat!!

So earlier I was reading the Key Lime pie thread in Key West and I mentioned to my hubby that I have never had Key Lime Pie! He just about had a heart attack!! Is anyone going to get Key Lime Pie in Key West?? I was thinking we will have to try and track some down. What better place to try it than there? :)

I have a friend that recently moved from Edmonton, so I know how cold it can be!
Yum ... I love Key Lime Pie. I agree, what better place than Key West to try it!:goodvibes

Mmmmm, pie. :goodvibes

That's what we did last time we were in KW. I found a little dinner off the beaten path.

Check the main DCL forum for posts from SNelsonBrown. She a KW native and the KW Oracle around here. I would ask her for a few recommendations.

Did we definitely set the disboard meeting at the Mickey Pool slide around 2:00? Will everyone be aboard by then?

I'm going to suggest that we consider moving it to around 3:15 at the Promenade Lounge for a few reasons. Everyone should be onboard by then. The Muster Drill is at 4:00 so everyone would be finishing up what they're doing anyway. It should be a bit less hectic in the Lounge.

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

Tony

how about an "official" meet at 3:15, and if anyone is playing in the pool around 2:00, check out the mickey slide. i know as soon as we get aboard and secure any ressies, we're heading straight to the pool!!

I wanted to pop in and say how jealous I am that all of you are preparing to cruise in just two weeks! I'm on this same cruise NEXT year! Technically it leaves February 7. I hope you don't mind me reading along once you guys get back and report about your cruise. I'd like to know how cruising in February really is.

Have any of you been upgraded? How am I going to survive an entire year before my own cruise after reading about yours?! :)

Believe me.....it will fly by before you know it. We were originally planning the same week LAST YEAR. but LIFE got in the way. We decided to reschedule for the same time a year later, now here were are only a couple weeks away. Technically, I can say we've been waiting over 2 years to take this cruise.....I plan on enjoying every minute we're on board.

I've not cruised in Feb before, so this is a new one for me too. Nor have I ever gotten an upgrade. Hopefully someone else can share more about these.
