2/9/2008 - Valentine Cruise 7 Night Western - Anyone On The Love Boat ?

Welcome EMTMom! I have to ask...I see your screen name & the icon by your husband being a fireman...Is he a fireman & you an EMT? The reason I'm asking is because I just let my EMT expire, but my husband is also a fireman. If you are, that is really cool!

Anyways, just wanted to say welcome & ask that question!

I am in fact an EMT, and my husband is an EMT/Firefighter. We'll both soon start our intermediate level training.

My 8 yr old is counting the days till she can get her certification!

That's great! We are volunteers in the county that we live in. My husband & I are also both 911 dispatchers. We stay very busy with that, volunteering & with our children. Thats why I have let my EMT license expire. We have an 11 y/o DS, a 4 y/o DS, a 11 month old DS, & a DD due in May 2007.

Good luck with your certification! pixiedust:

Welcome, Thea :wave2:
Hello again gallafamily!

Perhaps some of you can answer a question, regarding Flounder's Nursery. I have heard two different stories--1-that you are limited to a certain amount of hours per day. 2-that you are limited to 10 hours for the entire cruise. We didn't bring our son along the last cruise in January (he wasn't around when we booked it and we felt he was really too young), so we only have experience with Oceaneer Lab. What exactly are the rules and are there different time limits based on age? He'll be 19 months when we sail in 08.

Thanks!

I don't know the answer Thea but you should ask on the cruise board. You'll get an answer for sure there.

My other son and his wife booked this cruise today. Now I have all three of my kids, their spouses and my grandchildren going! :thumbsup2

Alec will be 15 in July, Makayla will be 5 on the 8th and Andrew will be 4 in September.

Greetings from Africa!

I've been in South Africa the past 2 days and will be here until Friday when I'll be moving onto Windhoek, Namibia. So far I was able to see Seal Island, African Penguins, Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point. and Despite the fact that I put sunblock on 3 times yesterday, I"m nice and crisp today because the sun is so much harsher here. Oh well, at least I remembered to pack aloe or I would not be a happy camper.

Hi everyone!

Nice hearing from you, Melissa!

Woohooo :woohoo:

Booked our flights today ...flying from Manchester (UK) to Orlando on 1st Feb 2008, and leaving Orlando on the 18th Feb.........giving us a fair bit of 'play time' in Orlando before & after our cruise.:cheer2:

Had to pay a bit more by flying schedule with Virgin Atlantic (£450 per adult and £350 per child), but happy that we had a good deal (for direct schedule flights) and were not stuck with the 14 nights that the charter airlines offer.

Doing a little happy dance right now

How exciting!! Another week and we can book our flights. We'll fly down from Boston on the 8th and stay at the MCO Hyatt--we did this in January and it was well worth it--not only for last minute shopping and being able to unwind after the flight, but also to be spot number one on the Mickey Bus!!!

Any idea yet where you'll stay before hand?

Any idea yet where you'll stay before hand?

Hi - we haven't really done much serious research yet on where to stay in Orlando before the cruise.
We really loved staying at the Regal Palms Resort on our last visit - perfect mix of resort facilities and townhouse combined....but I don't like going back to the same place twice - I like the idea of a different holiday experience every time (see my signature tag !)...but no doubt the kids will be putting the pressure on !
There is a new development under construction called Teirre Del Sol (Davenport Area), which is bigger & better than Regal Palms, as far as leisure facilities go....but it will be touch & go whether it will be finished by Feb 2008  We will have to wait & see how that goes this year.

For the 2 nights after our cruise I am intending to book AKL as a surprise for my, by then, new husband, & the kids. Problem being that it will be President's weekend and the rates will have shot up

Shaun and I are staying at the Polynesian before hand. My mother is driving us to the port early in the morning. Afterwards, its flying home.

I'm off to Namibia today...so who knows how my internet situation is going to be :( but at least I finally get to start my project

Why no Teva ?

............and don't give me that nonsense about getting too old :rotfl:

Well, I am kind of old. :confused3

Actually, we are hoping to go down after Thanksgiving next year. We want to go and see/do the Christmas stuff again. So with the cruise in February and then a WDW trip in December, I don't think we'll be doing any parks in February.

How are you doing, Judy? I cannot wait for Spring. I am so ready for nice weather.
