2/6/2011 - 4 Night Dream - Update 3/5 Animator's Palette

really enjoying your report
thanks for sharing

Great TR and really enjoyed your Remy review! My hubby doesn't know it...yet...but I was able to snag a Remy reservation on our upcoming cruise. It's our first cruise ever and in principle I think he's against paying that much of a premium when "we've already paid for a perfectly fine meal." I think I should show him your review - might change his mind!
Oh thats awesome being able to snag a reservation. My husband questioned it before the meal but well it worked out ok. The food is much better at Palo and Remy than it is at the other normal eateries.

remy looks tremendous but oooo pricey...and ya didn't even have wine!

We well had the champagne cocktail. I didn't go for the wine as I wasn't in the mood for it but would have been more than willing to spend the cost of the wine.

LOVE LOVE LOVE your report! Can't wait for the rest! We arent' vacationing much because I have a 2 1/2 year old who, to put it nicely, is very stubborn and a kill joy sometimes. BUT.... I can read your trip reports and day dream!!! :)
Thanks for reading along. Kids can keep you away from vacationing but hopefully as he gets older he gets better and you can enjoy more!

Remy looks even better than I anticipated!:worship:
It really was! I was shocked how good it actually was and shocked my husband truly enjoyed it more than just going along with the nice places I want to eat.

loving your trip report!!! keep it coming !! :cool1:
Thanks for reading! I should be able to update more tomorrow :D

Glad you are enjoying.

I am glad to rad a report with just adults. trying to convince my hubby to do a cruise on the Dream. I think this report and the photos from Remy willdo the trick.

I'm really enjoying your trip report - I think I've made up my mind about Remy...looks soooooo amazing. I know the cost is $75 per person, but I was wondering how much to budget total for this meal - including wine (for DH only since I can't drink) and tip. Thanks!

Just discovered your report - thanks - great read and pics. Looking forward to Remy. Hope I have a chance to check out the wines at 5:15 the day of.

My Dream cruise coming up is just DW and I

Sorry we didn't get to meet, but I'm loving your report!

I enjoyed your review of Remy. Our tablemates went there the second night, and I couldn't wait to hear their impressions. They loved it enough that they went back on the third night, and to Palo on the fourth night, so we didn't see them again until breakfast on the last morning! It worked out fine for us, though, because we ended up having the table to ourselves.

My husband was nervous too about doing a Disney cruise with two adults only. Once I showed him everything they had for adults it totally helped my case. :thumbsup2

Its so worth the cost! With wine if he gets the pairing + additional tip, it probably be around $300 but completely worth it!

I bet you will get the chance! They have a great selection of wine especially for a cruise ship.

I agree!! It looks fantastic! :worship: I am sufficiently impressed. :thumbsup2

Thanks :D It truly was an amazing meal.

I bet your tablemates were the couple that was seated at the table next to us when we were there. They were having a great time! Let the server pick their meal and had a bottle of wine plus some scotch. They seemed like a fun couple.

Pirate Night

When we got back from our room from dinner we had a fun pirate towel animal waiting for us!

I went up deck to see some of the pirate night and see what the buffet looked like (although I didn't eat anything) I hadn't changed from Remy thus I didn't stay on deck for long as it was so windy that wearing a loose dress, it was a constant battle. I gave up. Next cruise I'll make sure I change before going up to that deck.

Fish Extender Gifts

We did the FE for our cruise and it was great fun! We only had about 7 cabins and I found that was just enough to not take away much time from the cruise enjoyment.

Our loot!

Just a silly question? What is fish extenders??

Its kinda like a secret santa gift exchange among people in your meet thread that want to partake in it. If you want to participate you make a small little gift for everyone that is in the group (some make cabin only gifts some do cabin gifts + each child gifts) Its tons of fun to have some surprises waiting for you at random times!

Morning and Palo Brunch

When we woke up this morning, my tan from the day before had set in. I realized when looking at this tan - it wasn't really even. Since we had nothing going on until the Palo Brunch, I decided to go upstairs and layout on Deck 12 for a while and read, sans sunscreen. The upper deck in the Adult Cove area was empty! I spent about 2 hours enjoying myself out there until I headed back to the room. My husband had by then woken up and got ready for our brunch. We then headed to guest services to get our tips prepaid and then headed up to Palo!

We checked in and shortly were seated in the back section and greeted by our server. He asked if we would like champagne or a mimosa and escorted us to the buffet to explain all the offerings.

The offerings were similar to those on the Magic and Wonder. My only complaint is that instead of tongs, they had a fork/knife at each selection plate and they were kinda a pain to get certain items due to that.

My husband's plate!

My plate!

We both enjoyed our plates a lot. I was shocked that my husband didn't go back for more crab legs but his loss, I guess.

We ordered a pizza when we sat down with our plates as I told my husband how good they were on the Magic.

They still were amazingly good! I'm glad we split one between the two as we still had more to come.

When our pizza arrived we ordered our entree selections.

I went with the pasta dish with smoked salmon because it looked really good on the selection table.

432il.jpg

TBH, I didn't try it when it was served. The smell of the dish just didn't hit me right and I couldn't eat it. I think by this point in the cruise I had too much rich food that my body was telling me no more! I felt really bad about that :/

MY husband had the chicken parm.

433o.jpg

He loved it!

Next up for us was the desserts. I had a modest selection as did my husband as we both were full by this point.

435u.jpg

Everything we had was amazingly good! We wished we had more room to stuff it all in with but alas we couldn't.

Looking out we did get to see a cargo ship past us.

Mmmmmm! Brunch looks delicious!!!!

I hope you were able to even out your tan. We really lucked out with the weather on this trip, huh?

Hello DisYoda-

So glad you are writing a trip report, we had such an amazing time! I still can't beleive it's over, we planned soooo long and the days went by so quickly. We spent a week at the parks before the cruise and then B2B'ed the Dream. I have to say the weather at CC and crowds were better on the 4 night. On 3 night following, there was 1100 more people (althought certain most were with the AFV filming crew) and the weather at CC was chilly and it began to rain around 2:30.

Looking forward to the rest of your TR!

It was amazing!

I was able to even out the tan luckily so when I went to work on Friday I didn't look too weird. Our weather really was great!

Thanks for reading along! We really did plan for so long but it really was worth it. I wish I was back on the boat right now. Thats too bad about the next boat being so much more crowded and a chilly CC day.
