I made a ressie via the online form, but using my 100 developer points. They said that it would take 2-4 weeks for me to get a confirmation. The problem is the trip is mid-June and I need to get my airfare if I got a ressie. Is there anyway to find out about the ressie before the letter I should get in 2-4 weeks? :confused3 Can I call MS and find out? Its been a little over a week since I got the email back stating that they received my request.

I'm confused on how you made ressies online with dev. points since they do not show up in your balance via dvcmember.com. For ressies with developer points you need to call MS as they are seperate from "your" points.

The CM at MS will give you the conf. number at the completion of the ressie.

I don't see why the OP couldn't make a reservation request with developers points usingthe internet, as it is only an email request. It is the same as calling MS. Developers points can take a long time to confirm, as the transactions are mostly still manual.

MagicX2, I would give MS a follow-up call and check the status of your reservation, since you do need to be thinking about making travel arrangements.

I filled out the on-line form. In the section where you can put "Additional Comments" I requested that the take the points neccessary for the ressie out of my Developer Incentive Points first. I received an email back that stated that my ressie had to be done thru a different system and that it had been forwarded on to that department. They also stated that my resort/room request had been held in the system. They then stated that I would recieve a confirmation letter in 2-4 weeks.
My question is, Would MS have the information in their system any sooner than I would receive that letter?

Thanks. I think I will do that today. I will let you know what they say.

I made a ressie using our Developer pts for Oct, 3 weeks ago. The info appeared on the membersite this past Tues (about 2 weeks later), but we still haven't received the paper copy in the mail.

When we made our ressie they actually gave us a conformation number right away as they held the room for us. We got the paper conformation a couple of weeks later as, like everyone else said, it had to be done manually.

The room is already held so you will already have it. It will just take longer to get the confirmation is all. It is not like that you want get it if they already said that it is held for you, the oly thing is they have to manually put the reservation into the system is all.

Thanks for all the helpful info. I got too antsy and decided to call. I was only on hold for about 2-3 min. The gentleman at MS I spoke with was very helpful and told me that he did see it held in the system and that they were just waiting to get the confirmation number. He said I should receive that letter in the mail in about 2 more weeks. Thanks for all the replies.

It takes that long for the developer point reservation to be processed. MS can confirm that you have the reservation, but the points won't get posted for 3-4 weeks. If your vacation is sooner than the expected posting date, they will expedite the posting to have it completed prior to your check-in.

I booked this week using my developer points for Sept 27 - Oct 1 for a 2 bedroom at SSR. I was told I DEFINETELY have the reservation, but would not see a confirmation number for 2 weeks. I did call back the next day and added an additional day in a studio, and the rep I talked to could see my original reservation and added the new one. So, I'm pretty confident it is there!

I have used developer points a few times over the past year. My experience is if MS tells you your room is reserved and you will get your confirmation # in a couplke weeks, you are all set. That being said, mistakes can and do happen. I would call back just to reconfirm with another representative.

I made a ressie with developer points on March 27th and did not get a confirmation number. I was told it would take a week or so to show on the system. When I called back 1 1/2 weeks later, MS said they did see the ressie in the system but it will take 2 - 3 weeks before I see a confirmation. I did see yesterday that 7 of my regular points were transferred out that were needed along with my developer points for that ressie but I did not see my ressie on the system yet. I make my ADRs next week so I hope I have a confirmation number by then.

Patience is required for these developer point ressies, and that is not my best quality :lmao:

I have a reservation made for May with developer points and regular points. Like cash reservations, the developer point reservation does not show under "vacation details" on the member site. When I saw they took the 28 regular points I needed for the reservation, I called MS and they gave me the confirmation number. It took quite a while before the paper confirmation showed up.
