2~2~12* Dream a Little Dream With Us!

That's what we figured and one of the reasons we booked it. Thought it would be cool to get an anniversary pic

We plan on staying on the ship at Nassau. Probably not going to Remy or Paolo to check out all the rotational restaurants. This will be our 4th cruise. We got married on a Bahamas cruise, did the Eastern Carribean, Mexican Riveria and Alska - all DCL.

We are in Aulani right now. They have borrowed a lot from DCL here including personal navigators daily.
F&A - I won't be getting off the ship in Nassau either. Been there, done that - lol. Holly and I have Palo on the 2nd night. Free perk for me being Platinum (15th DCL cruise) or we might have skipped it because I am requesting one of my favorite servers and that only gives us 2 nights rotational dining. Not doing Remy. Not up for a meal that long on a cruise that short!

Personal Navigators at Aulani? Interesting ...

They can track the ship on line 24/7 at this website if that helps.

We usually do a small in wi fi package to upload pix on a 7 day cruise. Probably won't do anything for a short one. You can always log on for a few minutes on the ship for a few bucks or hit an Internet cafe. Don't know of any free wi fi options.

Got my "welcome aboard" papers today!

My 12 year old Madison is my worrier. She is starting to get really freaked out about us sailing. She gets anxious when we leave town for a regular weekend, but when we showed the kids on the map where we were going, and then later explained that we could not call, she got really upset. Poor thing!

Hoping there is free wiFi somewhere in nassau. Then I can post a message on her facebook so she will know I didn't fall off the boat!

My experience has been the main beach/snorkel lagoon is warmer than serenity bay. Serenity bay in general is very cool in the morning and much better after lunch. Also, if you don't have any kids, recommend eating lunch over there anyway. Same food, less people.

What I read on other posts for January/February is that the water temp is in the low 70's (not quite BRRRRRRR, but definitely on the chilly side). And should be about the same, on average, as the air temp.

But I'm predicting an uncommonly warm week with air temp in the high 80's and a raised water temp at 80 degrees on the button.

I have not seen this asked--but do the ship clocks change to "local" time or do they stay on Eastern time?

I've seen people discussing late dining like it is horribly late, but it doesn't seem so if times are an hour earlier, it would be not that much later than normal dinner time for us.

The Dream will always be in EST for our cruise. Nonetheless, all hail the late dining and pixie dust for keeping all the little rugrats calm and quiet!

Is it too late to sign up for fish extender? If not, I don't think I have enough posts to email through the boards. Can Kare Bear email me?

We are Paula and Dave, no kids coming with us. (I think they were hoping that Christmas would include a "hey you're coming with us reveal", but they got universal passes instead). Sunday we are going to go watch the Magic sail out of port, if it's in port that day.

Now I have to figure out how to MAKE a fish extender!

BeeTeacher - You have over 10 posts so I think you should be able to Private Message karebear06.

Big fan of the late seating. More time for days activities, less kids at show and meal. We usually get a pre dinner cocktail at the bar.

Cruise docs arrived today, but sadly, no room assignment yet on our VGT. I was hoping it would be assigned with the cruise docs, but we got a big ol' ______ on our luggage tags for stateroom.

(Probably for the best - then I don't have to obsess over the DIS boards for every last comment about our particular stateroom once it's actually confirmed.)

dgundy--I know what you mean. I've been obsessing over the deck 11 overhang--we are on deck 10. Some people say it really bothered them. I'm not even sure we CAN move to deck 9, or if I would even want to. Decided to just take what we have and if it's an issue, we will know for next time.

Karebear--I sent you a PM. I didnt realize my status had changed! Yes, dave and I would like to participate.

No cruise docs here, and I'm in Tallahassee, FL.

We're on deck 10 and we're concerned about the overhang as well. We're in Ft. Lauderdale and haven't gotten ours either! The cruise doc fairy has forgotten us! lol :lmao:

They have a model of the Dream on display at Aulani we pass to go to the parking garage. It calls to us. Come sail away, come ride the aquaduck.

I thought the main problem I read with Deck 10 was being able to hear the foot traffic and scraping of chairs on Deck 11 (depending what was over your cabin). If I'm Deck 10, I'd prefer to be forward on the ship so Sense's is overhead vs. being mid or aft where the pool and Cabana's are located.

(See what I mean - I don't even know where my cabin is yet and I'm obsessing over possible locations.)

We stayed on the top deck of the Magic. Didn't like it because we heard them drag the deck chairs out and in every day. Not sure if the Dream has that problem too.

We are VGT also and it will be what it will be. It's a short cruise so I can't be bad.

And the way I looked at it when booking was, "I've never cruised before, so I don't know any better." Agreed - it will be what it will be.
