2~2~12* Dream a Little Dream With Us!

That is so cool that you work at CBHS! Both DH and I graduated there in 1984. I'm guessing none of the teachers we had still work there but I know Doris Lucas only recently retired. I would LOVE for my kids to attend CBHS and if it were possible, I would move back in a heart beat. The high schools here graduate over 600 kids, and when we were at CBHS we graduated 152. It was just a high school then.

We try to get down there annually at least, more if we are at WDW -- we will jump over as a close friend lives in Cocoa and Florida Seafood is a favorite of ours. This summer we will be there for a week in a rental home or Condo. It has changed SO much, but I still love it.

So I have to ask this and I want to ask here because I have seen that this topic has a tendency to become a flame fest on the main group. It's about dressing down for dinner...don't worry, we are not planning to wear shorts!

BUT-- On Pirate night do people dress up on the 3 night cruise? Would nice jeans and a pirate themed shirt be acceptable at dinner or is it better to dress nice and change after dinner for the pirate party?

We don't want to wear costumes, so I got a cute shirt and am ironing on a glitzy rhinestone skull and crossbones and dh has a Miami Ink shirt with a pirate theme. They are not disney merchandise, but are definately pirate themed.

I would not even worry about it but I see how people react and I don't want to be out of place. I'm prepared to dress up for dinner, just confused as how Pirate night works with it.

We usually wear jeans and a pirate themed t shirt to dinner. I have a Pirates of the Carribean polo from the outlet i plan on wearing and Ashley has a t shirt with the jolly roger on it. They give everyone a pirates IN the carribean bandana to wear.

On cruise we went to dinner in full costumes and were in the minority. Another cruise it seemed like half the dinning room was in costume. It all depends I guess.

Pirate night Jan '10

Hope that helps. Frank

Does anyone have an idea of what movies will be playing on the boat? I still haven't seen the Muppets and would love to see it on the cruise.

I am hoping War Horse is still playing, although is there time to see a movie? I'm already wishing the cruise was longer!

Here's what someone posted to the above thread who had cruised about a week ago:
Cars 2
Aladdin
Enchanted
The Help
War Horse
Toy Story 3
Real Steel
Beauty and the Beast
Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides
The Muppets...this one was also shown in the Walt Disney Theater one night.

My wife said we got our docs today. In the past we have had good luck with last minute upgrades. I'm not too worried.

Where in Indiana are you from Mojomom? My wife is from Evansville.

We're in Mishawaka! :thumbsup2

Yes, Cocoa Beach is a Jr. Sr. High.....graduating classes are about 350. Roosevelt is the elementary now, not the middle school any longer! We moved up here 10 years ago from South Florida and think it is the (second) happiest place on earth! :)

Double surprise....looks like we ARE taking the DD's on the cruise with us! Happy Birthday to me.........at least I get dinner at Palo with my DH.

Anyone else on the thread bringing their tweens?

Uh-oh ... a dropout from the "adults only" brigade! :rotfl2:

Have fun! :boat:

It's been pretty cold here in Central Florida. Right now it's 44 degrees at 9:18 AM. BUT, it's not snowing. ;)

48 here at the moment. I wouldn't mind a light snow like my mom and I experienced embarking on the Magic in January 2010. The only downside was that they moved the sail-away party inside.

I like it cool, but when it comes to cruising, my wish is NO RAIN PLEASE! :beach:

I have my FE made--its pretty basic but it will do! All my gifts are almost done and then I need to package it all.

Italldisney - we had a moment where we thought of bringing the kids--I have tweens too.

Friday I contacted out travel agent to see if we could move to deck 9 (yeah I know, I'm obsessing too much--I'm under Senses Spa and not the pool) and all of Deck 9 and all of Cat 5A are sold out.

In the meanwhile I'm killing time helping DD12 with her History Fair Project. Her subject is the Titanic (which isn't helping her Anxiety about us cruising but she chose the topic before we booked). It's a huge project so time is sure going to fly between now and then! SO EXCITED!

BeeTeacher: Right at this moment (subject to change by the minute) available Cat. 5a on our cruise are - -

Deck 10
10642 10040 10036 10534 10530 10528 10526
Deck 9
9024

Perhaps your TA did not look carefully enough for 5A, which is listed between 4E and 4D instead of in line with the other 5's.

This is why I always book directly with DCL to have total control of my res, although there ARE also advantages to using a TA (and I used to be one and a Disney specialist). ;)

Too bad you aren't bringing the DD12. My DD12 is a Titanic FANATIC! She even dressed up as the main character for Halloween one year. It's funny that she loves to cruise in spite of her "fascination" with sinking ships!:littleangel:

Yes, sorry folks, we are officially off the adults only list. It's like going alone though, as soon as we board, we are "abandoned" by our children...only to be seen at dinner! I think we see them LESS on a cruise! Love the wave phones for keeping in touch. Last December, DD12 racked up a HUGE cell phone bill............texting us from Edge. REALLY?

Taswira--I agree... while we got a nice Onboard credit from DU, and I've been happy so far for the most part, I think I would prefer to book myself next time. I booked during the Florida Resident Discount in November and didn't feel like I knew enough to book myself. Now that I have read so much here, and surely after cruising I'll have a better handle on what decks are better, what categories, etc.

But DU has been pretty easy to work with, not sure why she is not seeing the same availability as you are--this was all on Friday so no telling!

My DH called DCL and was told the movies during our 2.2.12 Cruise on the Dream would be:

Pirates 4 in 3d, The Help, The Muppets, Cars 2 in 3d, Real steel and War horse

I was hoping for Beauty & Beast in 3D and Star Wars... oh well!!! More time for other stuff:-)
