2/13/2011 Disney Dream 4 Day Cruise

We are sailing on the Dream 2/13. This is our first ever cruise! Heard about DIS boards at a seminar, and I'm totally lost! My husband and I, and our 10 year old daughter, are so excited for this! We booked the Aquaventure excursion in Nassau, and the Extreme Getaway Package at Castaway Cay. After the cruise, we'll be spending 9 days at WDW. :yay:

Welcome, Kristi! Wow, you're a brand new Dis-er, that's awesome!! :thumbsup2The boards can be SOO overwhelming at first. Go slow . There is great information all over the Dis - I lurk a lot.

First cruise, too! Boy are YOU in for a treat! All 3 of you are going to have a blast...guaranteed. And then 9 days @ the World? :worship: Doesn't get much better than that!

OK...about a meet....who's organizing? :rolleyes1.....popcorn::......:sad2: I'm assuming it should be on the "at sea" day, yes?

Diisney Dream February 13, 2011 cruise

Yes, I misspelled Disney. :rolleyes1
Hi! Is this group still on FB? I tried to search it and couldn't find it. Help!

Being from NE WI, DH is die hard Packer fan, good to know he will have at least one buddy. Since the 3 and 4 day cruises either leave or arrive Sundays, one of his requirements was we avoid Sunday Feb 6th, just in case the Packers made the big game, and based on last night it's looking better and better, so good thing we are the sailing we are!

Just a suggestion, since the at sea day is the last day, would it be better to meet the first afternoon? Thinking about the kids, maybe making friends early on would be nice?

We live in CT so we're hoping the Pats whoop the Jets today (not a big fan of the Pats, but loathe the Jets :)). We were also rooting for GB last night. Awesome thrashing they gave Atlanta. I would imagine that they showed the games on the GIANT outdoor screens yesterday on the ships - as they do on Superbowl Sunday!

Duh, I didn't even think of that. :headache: I think you're right...if we could somehow meet before the sailaway party, or right after (tough for us early diners) that'd be cool.:cool2: Maybe by the kid's pool or something? What time does everyone plan on arriving @ the port? We're taking the bus from AKL & I've heard we won't get there until about 2 :guilty::sad2:. SO not happy about that, but it's too late to cancel without losing $. My DS is almost 16, so perhaps you all with the younger kids could meet around 1 or 2 & we'll get there when we do?

I think we arrive around 2 on the bus as well. By the kids pool sounds like a good place.

Darn Brack! We will miss seeing you, but I certainly understand. Guess we will have to wait until Alaska to see you and Annette again.

I have been MIA - working too much and the Holidays were busy. Hope to spend more time here as we get closer to cruise date.

Does anyone else here have a 10-11 yr old daughter? Sophia (My DD) will be turning 11 on disembarkation day 2-17.

My daughter is 10, turning 11 in April!

IS anyone staying at Country Inns and Suites the night before the cruise? We are and have two kiddos ages 3 and 5.

My dads side of the familly all live in WI, so I was born with Packer blood:lmao: I was thinking last night we should have booked the 2-6 sailing if they go to the super bowl, that would be the greatest place to watch:3dglasses

On our last cruise it was organized an hour before the drill so everyone had time to settle in before the drill and dinner. We met in the lounge inside the main deck( by Triton's) I will think of the name of it( I got it Promenade lounge). There are different names to everything on the new ship:rotfl2:. It was nice and quiet and we were the only ones in there. (approx 20)

OK, I'm a dope...we'll already be on the ship when you guys come on b/c this is the 2nd 1/2 of our BtB. We won't be @ the ship until 2 on our prior cruise. But either way, before the drill sometime sounds great!

I was looking at the deck plans trying to get familiar with where everything is, and I realized, we got upgraded! We hadnt actually intended to get a balcony, trying to save cost a little, and a little worried about our rambunctious 4yr old. Thrilled to have the higher level, it's probably a quieter deck that we would have otherwise had, but sort of freaked out by the verandah. Does anyone have experience with the balconies, should I be worried about him somehow getting up and over? We wouldnt be leaving him alone without supervision at 4 obviously, but I'm still kind of nervous. Thanks!

They have locks on the verandah doors so he can't go out unless you let him, and he can't just slip off either. As long as he is supervised it will be fine( ie not letting him climb:thumbsup2) Enjoy it and congrats on the upgrade:cool1:

So, is there a fish extender list or not? I saw that it went back and forth a few times, so I'm not sure!
