2/13/2011 Disney Dream 4 Day Cruise

It occurred to me to sign into the website and check, and sure enough, #9138. Yeah!

Hello all, stumbled across this website and registered so I could meet some fellow cruisers. This is first cruise for me, DH and DS (4). Looking forward to escaping WI winter weather. Pictures of Dream are absolutely gorgeous. Still lots of questions and things to plan. Thinking about a Nassau shore excursion to the Ardestra zoo to catch the bird feedings, think DS would love it, and seeing some info on web about doing it on our own for very reasonable. Anyone ever done that before? Can someone elighten us what the heck are fish extenders? How does one know when they have a stateroom assignment?

We have not seen the Ardestra zoo, but we took our DS at 15 mos. old to the "dig" at Atlantis and the Pirate Museum when he was 3. He loved them both. I think the bird feedings would be fun too. The Pirate Museum is within walking distance to the pier. Here's the link if you would like to check it out. pirates-of-nassau.com

Does anyone have any children the same age as mine? DS 17, DS 10, Princess 4.

Is there a fish extender group going on? Might be a fun way to explore the boat.

I am so excited:banana::banana::banana:

Funny story today. My 10 year old asked "how long for the cruise?" I replied, "four days". He started breathing fast his eyes got really wide and said, "we are leaving in four days!!!!?" Then I had to correct him that our cruise was four days long...not leaving in four days:confused3

I am sad not to leave in four days but then I am no way ready.....

Our kids will be 3 and 5 so chances are one of them will be in the kid's club with your princess :)

Since no one else answered this one . . .

Outside your cabin, there is a metal "fish" beside your door that is like a big clip to leave messages on. On Many cruises people make a hanging pocket "extender" that they hang over the fish to exchange goodies/gifts/etc with fellow friend cruisers. Lots of people are very creative with them, and some people even make and sell them online.

Hi everyone! Just booked this cruise last minute and we are SOOOO excited. Did the 3 day twice last year, once in February and once in May. Is there a fish extender group set up? We did it on our cruise in May and it really added to the experience. The kids said it was their favorite part of the trip-lol. We don't know our staterooms yet, but there are 6 of us coming! Can't wait to hear from y'all:)

Just checking our daily plans and found something odd.

Day 1 - Port Canaveral - Tuesday, February 17, 1970
No activities reserved.

:confused3 :rotfl2:

I had sent a message to dis member kamaaina earlier this week who I thought was organizing the FE group. Sadly this is the response I received. Maybe if some people are interested a small group can form before we leave.

Thanks for your message. Only one couple besides your family ever responded for a FE list, so, sadly, we abandoned trying to organize a group for this trip. From other Disney cruises, a few more might join in the next few weeks...but the list still would be tiny.

I wasn't even born yet:scared1: You know I think they are having alot of gliches. We were sailing out of PC on the wonder 7 night MR cruise:confused3 my paperwork from the TA still states it is the Mexican Riviera they were supposed to fix it. I think that is why I could not book Remy or Palo because it was messed up on the castaway login also. I sure hope it is fixed now. I will stay on the Dream for 7 nights if they make me:rolleyes1

All it will take is someone who will take charge to keep a list up, I would do it but it is just my husband and myself sailing. Last cruise we did it and I think we were the only couple. It is mostly for the kids. I ended up with a ton of suitcase room being taken up with all the stuff I was giving the kids ( because kids have the coolest stuff you can't just get 1 thing to give them:rotfl2:) Don't give up it is not to late. ANY VOLUNTEERS FOR THE FE LIST?:surfweb:popcorn::
On another note here is a great video of the DREAM meeting the WONDER sadly she is on her way to her new home port in LA. I am glad I got to sail her but is still sad:sad1: great video though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_c3Rqj8fpM&feature=player_embedded# Yes that is the Dream answering the Wonder with"makes no difference who you are" I also found out she plays a total of 5 songs! WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR
MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHO YOU ARE
A DREAM IS A WISH YOUR HEART MAKES
YO HO YO HO A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME
BE OUR GUEST
OMG I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Add us to the list. We just booked at the last minute. We're bringing our 16 month old son. I admit I wanted to vomit when I booked the cruise because of the cost, but I'm really hoping it will be worth it. Is anyone concerned it will be too crowded? Anyone else travelling with a baby?

Welcome:thumbsup2. I looked at availability on our cruise and there is ALOT of cabins still empty so I don't know how crowded it will be.

How do you check the iinventory? I'm hoping the only ones one board are the people here on this thread :rotfl::banana:.....:rolleyes1

So we booked Disney transfers out of AKL where were staying the night before the cruise, but now I'm kind of regretting that decision. I've been reading here on the boards that when you take the shuttle you don't get to the port until about 1:30-2. Does anyone know if that's true? I'm used to renting a car & getting there @ around 10:30 :rotfl2:. True, we sit around for a while, but I LOVE the atmosphere. Oh well, too late to cancel now...I'm not giving DCL $140 worth of transfers back, THEN renting a car, all so I can soak up some atmospher

Hmmm... I'm not sure because I have never used the shuttle before. I had rented a car the last time, and just thought it would be easier to have someone pick me up and drop me off! Afterall, I'm on vacation!!

the fish extenders that we have done on prior cruises are not just for kids- the adults had a bunch of stuff as well.... but I cannot volunteer for this job! I've got sooo much going on in the next few weeks. We are packing, moving, and moving in and unpacking all before we go- and I just can't take on one more thing!! :scared1: Or I might be CRAZY!!

Ugh! You're moving? In the middle of the winter no less...poor you! You're SO going to need a vacation come February!

Tomorrow will be a month til we are on the ship! It's going to be here before we know it! Has everyone gotten their cabin assignments? I have seen on the threads that some people are still waiting and they are on Jan and Feb sailings, I wonder if they are going to get awesome upgrades, I have never heard of it taking so long for assignments, usually 45 days out. I have also seen some people get upgrades on the Dream already, I wasn't sure as full as they are if that would even happen so good for them:cool1: Also we are waitlisted for AKL DVC for the 2 night before the cruise, I saw where a couple of people were staying there prior to the cruise, if our dates come through maybe we could do a pre meet-meet:rotfl2: Speaking of that has anyone figured out when and where we are going to meet yet? And also a reminder we need someone to head the FE list, in the words of Master Gracie " Any volunteers? HHHMMMMM"popcorn::

Hey Doom!! We're staying @ AKV, but on the night of 9th b/c we're doing a BtB...otherwise we would have LOVED to have a mini meet!

That's a good question...where WILL we all meet? Since none of know the ship, it's kind of hard to plan somethin.

We had a GTY room and got our room assignment as soon as final payment was made. No upgrade though.

We found out a week ago that we had three weeks to move.... just love the rush of things! But I'll take it! We found a renter that we trust, and are in the process of buying my moms house from her.... Can't wait til we have four bedrooms and a fenced in yard!!

My favorite new line is going to be "go play outside!"

And once we get it all moved... I'm outta there for two weeks and on vacation!! Time is sure flying by!!
