Resort Thread Disney's Club Level (CL) Thread

I got side tracked during our Steelers game and have been typing this for a hot minute.

We got home late last night. Our stay at BWI was perfect! We were in 3257 and loved everything about the room. We just took the staircase right around the corner of the room to go up to the lounge. Lorenzo & all of the CMs were great! DH would typically go up a few minutes before me & Lorenzo would always have my morning pog mosa ready for me by the time I got up there. DH said he would ask him how much time he had because he didn't want the drink to get watered down. He'd match the rubber ducks to my outfits. He's a people person, no doubt, & knows how to make you feel special!

The food was great & we utilized the lounge every morning, every evening, & for desserts a few times. I was happy to see that I could pour my own wine. I don't remember being able to do that at Poly except for the wine punch drink they have.

The only complaint we have is the limited seating. We arrived on Labor Day morning, which was very busy. The remainder of the week was great, we always had seating, until Friday & Saturday. We brought our meals down to our room a few times due to no seats.

Wednesday night extra hours for deluxe guests at MK was great! Haunted Mansion was down the entire time & DH was upset about that. We made our way over to Tron. I wanted to give it a little while to allow the guests that were already in line at park closing to go on through & weed out. I think it was around 11:20 we basically walked right on, got off & got right back on. The people behind us timed it even better because it was their 3rd time riding back to back. By the time we rode it the 2nd time & got in line for a 3rd, the flood gates had opened so we bypassed it.

We had a reservation at Cake Bake Shop yesterday but I cancelled it & we just went to the Bakery side. I had the Marie Antoinette & it was pretty amazing. DH got the gluten free brownie in case I wanted to try it. He said he had regrets about that lol.
I have had that room. Loved it for larger balcony and close to stairs to get to the lounge,

Glad you enjoyed your trip.

I loved the champagne cake? Something vanilla ish and very light 🥰

We just moved from YC CL to GF RPC. Guess who’s off the Naughty List & just received her first Resort General Manager welcome email???

Although, I’m a little freaked out. Like, is Disney monitoring my iPad??? Do they know who focusondisney really is???

I followed @Maxie86 tips & got the best room ever. And I learned from @2vets & @trishadono to keep checking for changes right until you check in. So yesterday I was able to change my AP rate to a BB rate & save a bundle! :dance3:

We took a Minnie Van to GF & got here at 10. I got a room ready text just as we were being taken up to check in. We checked out the afternoon offerings. Besides the usual packaged snacks, cheese, crackers etc, they had chicken salad with cranberries, chicken noodle soup, cucumber cream cheese sandwiches. I have a few pictures from YC but might not get to post til I get home.
Time for payback, my last is a SSR room and YC cl . I am doing SSR in 3 weeks and that leaves YC CL to complete my goal!

Let me know if it’s worth it? I love BWI cl when in that side.

You are welcome!

You just needed to stay at GF to fix your emails! I love that!! 😍

If you're there tomorrow morning can you see if the mimosa flight is still available?
I checked out and moved to Pop to be tour guide for my brother’s family. Sorry!

I don’t usually recommend doing deluxe before moving to Value, but I’m pretty sure I’ll be more than ready to go home after a week, so I got my relaxing done before they arrived today! It was already like herding cats trying to get them all to decide what to do for dinner! I threw in the towel and told them I was getting food court, going to bed, and I’d see them at the bus in the morning 😐

That is kind of freaky. Just like when you look up something and ads pop up everywhere. Were you able to bring luggage in the Minnie van?

I don't know why but that made me laugh way too hard. You're a good sibling, good luck with your week! Lol.

I vote BWI, but that's currently my favorite. I'm already missing it and i don't go to SSR until days before you. I'm bummed we don't overlap. Honestly though, I did like YC, I stayed during covid so CL wasn't open. The pool is just too chaotic for me.

I have stayed at YC a bunch of times mainly since covid when cl wasn’t opened. It seems to never have a discount for cl when I go.

So many trips we didn’t even go in the pool! Ya it’s not a draw for me either. I think we ended up there many January trips.

I changed my SSR from 2 bed std view to 1 bed preferred. Close to same points but kids can’t make it so I decided I’d prefer location for a dh and I trip.

Does the Old Faithful Club at the WL have a freezer with ice cream bars available? We are planing a multigenerational trip next fall with 3 other families (kids ages 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13) and debating between going club level or staying non club level and adding the dining plan. I know there isn't a lot a of "value" in the club in monetary terms (the kids are all pretty picky eaters and don't eat much and we aren't a group of big drinkers) but I like the idea of having an easy breakfast and a space for the families to gather. If the club had a freezer (like BWI and BC) for frozen treats that just might tip the scales as we all love ice cream!

No freezer, but you can ask and they’ll bring you Mickey Bars or ice cream sandwiches.

Hi everyone!

Long time reader of this thread but haven’t posted in a bit. We have an upcoming trip later this month to BWI CL. Two things: one specific question about bwi and the other just a general request:

1. Does BWI CL have a set menu each month? Like, for example, bacon wrapped scallops every Monday evening. Just trying to be strategic with our dinner reservations so we are there for the good stuff. :)

2. And this is a huge favor I’m asking of everyone: when you post photos and say “here are tonight’s offerings” can you also put some kind of notation as to which CL it is? I find myself having to go back a lot to see who is currently staying where. Plus, it really would help with the search functionality. (ie: if I search bwi your photos will show up).

Thanks all!!

If you're staying at GF CL are you automatically going to be in the main building? Or do they put CL guests in the outer buildings as well? I wouldn't mind an outer building - I think they're beautiful! Just curious. Thx!

I have loved YC CL for years. But sadly, I have to say, you’re not missing anything right now. If I’m being honest, the last few CL stays there were more about FOMO than anything else. The staff is fine, friendly & helpful. But the food offerings are much less than at other resorts right now. For the 1st time ever, my husband & I both found dirty plates & glasses in the piles out for guest use. The lounge definitely needs more tables & chairs. I heard several family groups talk about being in the 2 bedroom turret suites, making for more people in the lounge. One morning in particular the tables weren’t being cleared promptly & a few families had to move dirty plates to another table to have a place to sit.

And I really do wonder if Disney monitors my iPad. After saying I haven’t gotten a survey after a resort stay in years, I got 1 for YC today. I made all these same comments in the survey.

It depends on what you book.

Regular rooms will be located in the main building. Some one and two bedroom suites will notate if they are located in an outer building.

All club level rooms at GF utilize the Royal Palm Club in the main building. The outer building Sugar Loaf lounge never reopened as club level post COVID.

That's a shame about YC CL! How is Royal Palm Club treating you?

It does seem a little too coincidental...

We just did a quick weekend trip to WDW and today decided to take advantage of the bounceback offer and get a discounted rate for a weeklong trip we have already been planning for next year. Ultimately, we settled on booking a GF club level room. I'm both excited and a little nervous. We love GF and have stayed there several times through the years, but never the club level. In fact, its the only WDW club level we have never stayed at. I wanted to stay somewhere near MK and assumed my partner would pick CR. But when she saw that we could get GF at a discount, she told me to pull the trigger. A week is a long trip. hoping we made the right club level choice!

So, put my mind at ease. Tell me some good stuff about the royal palm club!

Thx! I think I’ll save it for maybe an arrival day or something. If I get free alcohol sometimes that’s all I need lol .

Funny about the surveys!

In June I was showed the Binder that had the breakdown of the evening meals and desserts. I should have taken notes as we have a trip this month and wondering the same thing for our first evening at CL. I’m going to go back through the Thread to see what was posted for what nights of Bao Buns, Shrimp on Polenta, Pork Belly, Short Rib, and Meatball Sliders.

It actually had a few more tables & chairs but they were removed, and the Fire Marshal made them remove the portable Ice Cream freezer since it blocked the walkway plus installing the new Fire Extinguisher in the Regatta Club in the YC (for @CT Disney).

Dave

If there were more tables, it must have been a brief situation they tried but had to abandon. There’s the same number of tables there has always been. Well, except they did add 2 banquette tables in the small area that used to have cushioned chairs & the TV. Not sure where a portable ice cream freezer was. There used to be a permanent small freezer next to the door in the food service area. There’s just a refrigerator there now, as well as one at the far end of the service counter. Seems they could done 1 fridge & 1 freezer. Possibly a little more inventory control when you have to ask.
