2 1/2 yr old too young for Cruise?

We're leaving in a couple weeks and I was starting to get a little discouraged until I read your post! I was worried our 2 yr old would see his sisters and insist on being with them. Still a little afraid he will attempt to run away into the big pool (he's a fast one!), but I may just use your tip about the popsicles to distract him! :teeth:

I hear ya! I had the exact same concern. But it worked out great, there's so much going on and she had so much fun splashing and jumping in the little fountains. I also understand fast - how such little legs can be so darn fast is beyond me. :rotfl2: We had our stateroom host laughing at us a couple of times, because DD2 would start running down the hall to get to the elevators to push the buttons, and we're (DH, DS9, and me) saying 'Hi' as we sprint past him after her.

Here's she is at the splash ear of the Mickey Pool:

I concur with the majority opinion here, that you should definately go for it. When we sailed last February, my DS was 4 1/2 and my DD was a month shy of 2. They both had a blast.

We were concerned about age appropriate activities for both children but were quickly reasssured that Disney has done the thinking for us. There was plenty for both children. I wouldn't focus so much on the pool aspect -- it's just one of the numerous activities that one can do on the ship.

We had good experiences at Flounders -- my DD cried both times we left her there, but she was no worse for the wear when we picked her up. At all other times, CMs went out of their way to be friendly to her. In fact, when we told our servers (Adrian and Teresa/Tessa) that my DD's birthday was coming up, we had a special birthday celebration for her complete with a cake with candles.

My advice is to go for it!
