2 1/2 men

I guess I'm in the minority that didn't like it. I quit watching it last year, because it was the same old thing....Charlie boozing and womanizing, his brother be-moaning about something or another, and Jake farting.

I was looking forward to something new and fresh...and what do we get in the first episode? Ashton Kutcher's character getting drunk and having a three-some, and Allen making the crude comment about what he did after Ashton went upstairs with the two women. *Yawn* First episode, and already back to the same old-same-old.

I totally agree with you re the above. I didn't care for it at all.

I got the impression that the studio audience at the time of filming were not completely sure who the replacement for Charlie would be. I had heard Stamos and perhaps "Greg" were possibilities. As they came into the picture, the audience were aware that they were in the running. The Kutcher came on and the audience went wild when they knew he had been chosen. Did I dream this?
The audience was definately louder for AK. I thought that he looked a lot like Charlie standing there on the patio looking in with his wet hair and clothes. You could have replaced Ashton's face with Charlies.

I believe the story would have played better by having an extended funeral scene, with a few memorials maybe by Chelsea or Mia or Jake. It all seemed so brief. After that part in last nights episode, Charlie was pretty much gone from the rest of the show, which I guess is what they ultimately want to do. However I think the remainder of the show should have still been based on Charlie and they should have waited a show or two to introduce this new character.
I agree here. I thought that the funeral could have been done a lot better. And Ashton brought in with a lot better story line. I guess they wanted as little of Charlie in the show as possible.

Another household thinking they should have done a whole episode on the funeral because it was soooo funny. Perhaps, they could have ended with AK on the deck nakey looking in and Allen tossing the receptacle...to be continued.

I happen to agree that Chuck Lorre is pretty dumb but this would have been a no brainer.

The most absurd part of the show was Alan giving Walden tips on getting women. :confused3

I watched the episode on Demand yesterday and thought it was good. Not one of the best LOL moments, but I thought it was decent. I hope they improve with the next episode and get into a groove. I'm a Jon Cryer fan, so I'll continue to watch for him.

Alan has trouble keeping women, but he's gotten a lot of them - even apart from Charlie. He's had a few long relationships. Odd, but much longer than Charlie's many one-nighters (yes, I know Charlie had a few of those too - Chelsea, Rose...).

And they all fell for Alan when they thought he had Charlie's money. Charlie was never meant to be a one woman man. Chelsea was a big mistake. Alan always was the worst part of the show.

Charlie had Kandi first, then Alan married her. Charlie had Melissa first, then Alan got her. Alan got Lyndsey, but she had baggage that Charlie didn't need. All the women Alan got that Charlie didn't get first were desperate to get a man and Alan was the first one that came their way.

I was glad to see Miss Pasternak at the funeral, though. Did you know she is married to Casey Anderson of National Geographic: Expedition Grizzly? With Brutus the bear?
