We have always gone to Universal either the first week of December or during Spring Break season. We know what these times are like. Trying to plan for a trip for either the first week of February or March 2022 and would like some information. Which would you say has the lowest crowds, best temperatures, least rain, no holidays or non school days, etc. Also, when will Mardi Gras generally start? Or is there really no difference between the two? TIA.

We’ve been the last week of January/first few days of February a few times (all before Covid) and it wasn’t crowded at all.

If you are looking for low crowds I would go the first week of February, say before the 10th when some of the early Spring Breaks seem to start.
Keep in mind though the park hours will be shorter, only one lane operating on certain rides, half the counters open, etc...

I would think either week would be low crowds. I would pick first week of March, since Mardi Gras will be going on. We went last year and it was very well done, even though they did not have the parade and concerts. The international food booths were quite good; I wish they would keep those year-round...

Under normal circumstances the end of January/beginning of February and the middle of September tend to be the least crowded times of the year. And note that even when I go during those times, I still like to stay in one of the 3 Premier hotels to get the unlimited EPs. It is worth it to me even in the "slower" times.

Piggybacking on this thread - we're looking at the first week of February 2022. Wondering if any of you who have gone in that period remember what the park hours were, last year or the year before?

They were pretty short. Closing time was 6 one night (special event) but around 8 normally. It was nice as we tend to be open to close people. We still had energy at the end of the day with the short hours and could actually enjoy our resort. But, not awesome if you wanted to sleep in in the AM as you'll lose a lot of that limited park time.
