***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Actually, not to nitpick, but Mickey isn't at Cape May breakfast. It's Minnie, Donald, and Goofy, iirc. We ate there on our last morning last time and it was a fabulous way to end our trip! :)
Oh, thanks for the heads up! I must have been thinking of old information!

So this Touring Plans alert was pretty fun to get!! :yay:

New Alert: Tomorrow: Make FastPass+ Reservations
I got mine today too!! You, me and @Lisa F have a big day tomorrow!! :cheer2:

I know I am asking too many questions today but I'm wondering if any of you have ever done the FP+ and rider switch trick to get a few more reservations?

http://www.mousesavers.com/disney-dining-plan-tips-and-tricks/

My DS is only 38 inches so he can't ride many things. According to this link (and a similar one on touring plans) I could conceivably get:

FP for me + DD for splash
FP for DH +DS for BTRR

When we show up for splash we ask for rider switch pass and DD and I ride. Then my DH and DD (2nd ride) can ride on switch pass.

When we show up for BTRR we also ask for rider switch. DH rides with DD using DS fastpass. Then DD rides again with me on the rider switch.

This doesn't work for us a lot but would work well for these two rides at MK.

Would it be foolish to do this?

We had to do it all last year with a 1yr old on alost all rides. It works. It gets you extra fast passes, it's a pain too.

Be sure you ALWAYS get your rider swap at the start of the line. A few times my husband "forgot" and tried to get them as he left the ride... it didn't work.

Good luck to everyone making FP+ selections!!! Oct. 11th is my FP+ day so I'll just be over here twiddling my thumbs for another week. :hourglass

F.Y.I.
The December cancellations thread has had some heavy traffic the past couple days. I suspect it will only get busier as people start finalizing their ADRs and FP+. Anyone still looking for ADRs should keep an eye on that thread.

For those of you that will have your own car at DW, do u drive to all park and adr? Is there any park that is better to use bus instead of car? There are several days we will close the park or have late ADR at various resorts. Therefore we are considering of getting a rental car to save time whenever possible. Btw, we will be staying at CBR. TIA for your input.

We had our car last time but never used it around wdw. Others told me ahead of time that MK is really the only park that makes more sense to bus to than drive to. If you drive, you still have to take the ferry or monorail over to the front gate. If you take the bus, you are dropped off right at MK, so it's a bit less hassle.

Okay well I've done a 180 and just booked EMM Fantasyland for 12/4! Which means I'll let go my PPO BOG breakfast (we still have BOG lunch later in the trip, which I was looking forward to...I love french onion soup). I showed this option to DH and shockingly he told me that he thought it was a good idea after reading a review. So now I have to go and modify my touring plan (I plan to get in line at PFH around 8:50am and hit both sets of Princesses) and then have breakfast at 9:30am. Then head straight over to the Merida meet and then Tomorrowland. So I need to reorg my first MK day. But so far I like my schedule. DD still wants to do the Star Wars dessert party but I'm waffling on it - I wasn't impressed by the latest reviews and DH and I don't drink that much. I think given the time we'd have to stalk out a space for the fireworks would be the time the party starts anyway (correct me if I'm wrong).

That's great about EMM! That seems to suit your early riser a lot :)

As for SW dessert party, there are good reviews and bad reviews. I think it's what works for your family... Looks like a lot of people are second guessing this now especially since the max number of people is now 185.

Yay, I'll see you there!!! I have the same plan...get in line just before park opening for PFH :) DH isn't thrilled with that, but he's not the one making the plans :rotfl: I really only care about seeing Rapunzel though! I think @Iowamomof4 is going to EMM that day too??

It's been blowin' up over there!!

Hey--I know you're the primary planner for your family's vacation (pause for collective "awwww"! :) lol), and you've probably already thought of this, either ruling it in or out, BUT...

Like @areno79 I get lost on Etsy and now I'm shopping for other people I guess! lol Talk about one thing leading to another. ;) Just wondering if your wife might flip (in a good way!) if you got matching family shirts? This is just one example of a bazillion. Saw the "Daddy" ones and thought of you since you're the only guy I know on the boards here! Not sure if this is just a "girl thing"? I know my DS14 wanted a VERY strong say in what we chose for the Christmas party since "matchy/cutesy" isn't necessarily his preferred style! :rotfl2:

Congrats on the EMM @Mintycake! I believe you are in some pretty stellar company on 12/4! ;) (not us! haha. We are 12/6. But others here have that date, as I'm sure you know.) Awesome that you and your DH are on the same page. :) I'm so excited about EMM!

@TiggerManiac Looks like you are in heaven!! :cloud9:

I am still planning on SW dessert party too. I've talked it up to DH so much he'll be upset if we don't go. He did tell me this morning to reign it in a little though because I started talking about all the tours, and how it would be an awesome time to do the KTTK tour. I guess he's getting a smidge worried about all the extra money I'm spending. :confused3 I didn't tell him about all the cool things I want from Disney Floral & Gifts! :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

It's so bad, isn't it?? I had DH bored to tears yesterday trying to look at shirts he might want. He finally told me "Why should I pick something out? You're just going to tell me what I'm wearing anyway!" :rotfl:

:rotfl2:Yup, I haven't told DH exactly what I have booked so he's clueless about the prices. He asked about hotels once since his coworker asked and I said I booked everything separately for our triple split stay- which booking does he want to tell his co worker about. He stopped asking me after that.

Your comment on etsy cracks me up! DH told me not to buy stuff from Etsy after he saw the total price. Soooo... I ended up buying more stuff from old navy to colour coordinate myself and ds2. But he's left out because I could not find the man a pair of bright red pants :lmao:

:rotfl2: I wish I could adequately describe the look on my teenage son's face when I first showed him what I was thinking about! He came around when he saw that Raglan/baseball style and a pretty simple Mickey with a Santa hat. :santa: Glad to hear your husband has a clear understanding now of how it works!! ;)

Trying to catch up while here at the beach. Here's our gorgeous lagoon view from the deck. We like to stay lagoon-side so DH can fish from the pier at night.

Here's what I've been working on. A fashion bib scarf, woven on a triangle loom.

Great pic.!!!

The glass of wine in the lower right corner ties it all in together very nicely!!!

When I met him, he had 5 shirts that he wore all the time, and they were either black or gray. :sad2: Now thanks to me he looks so much more fashionable!
I am having a heck of a time deciding what I want to wear for the MVMCP. I want a pic of us in matching Christmas attire in front of the castle for our Christmas card, but I don't want to match everyone else. I keep seeing pics from the disneytourist blog website where they're wearing winter jackets and gloves because it's so cold, which has me worried about the weather.
