***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Love this! This is also what I'm doing so in lieu of resort hopping, it's more like a meal at each resort! :D Great way of seeing all the xmas decorations too! :)

Exactly!! :-) So excited about this part of the trip! Well, I'm so excited about everything; just depends on what I'm fixating on at any given moment! lol

We'll all have to have to do another plan share again soon. Sounds like people are trying to finalize and/or have switched things up somewhat. It's so fun to see what others are doing! :-)

Thank you all so much for these thoughts!! I think I'll keep the LTt dinner reservation. But, I also keep going back to the wave dining page! I agree that the only hesitation is the lack of a disneyish "theme." I also really just want to try some quick service places. So that's always an option dinner too. I was looking up snack options for the dining plan, and there are so many cool "snacks" offered around the world at Epcot. I'm thinking of doing lunch that way, and using our snack credits to try a few in each country.

Yes @Lisa F that was me that loves the Vineyard! :)

I am hesitant about LTT, although I considered it for dinner for my MVMCP day. Just because it seems like food we eat up here all the time in the winter, KWIM? Plus Thanksgiving is only the week before our trip so I don't think I'll want the typical New England dinner. But, it does get decent reviews, so I don't know.
Tempted to try Tony's, just because we've never been there. Still hoping for an HDDR res!!

Ok, so let me be the first one to re-post my plans... I'm still a little confused if this is good or not but let me know your thoughts?? I can't seem to decide on parks on the latter part of my stay and not sure if 1 day at AK is enough but with all the night stuff on hold, not sure what to do...

You have a couple meals that will happen close together after a buffet. (especially the 5th) That is a lot of food! In our past experience we were running into our dinner ADRs not hungry at all. Especially 2 buffets on the same day, so close together. I would day at least space them out more. (Like an 8:00 and 5:00 or 10:00 and 7:00) That was just our past experience. We make a point now if we do a later brunch/earlier lunch TS we don't book another ADR. We just split a QS in the evening.

@Candycane83 I think you have a great balance of parks so far! It's so difficult to decide where to spend the ?s because I think so much depends on what happens with all the things that are still hanging!! (Stars Wars, ROL, EMM). Once all the unknowns become knowns, I think it will really help finalize those decisions because you can see for sure where the real gaps are in terms of time in each park. I think your restaurant choices are exceptional! We have the same AK day on 12/4 but are doing ADRs in reverse with a Tusker House lunch and Yak and Yeti dinner! :-) You have great taste! lol We'll just miss each other at Boathouse too! We have Cirque that night which ends at 7:30, so a late dinner there for us. I wish we all got paid for all this time spent planning! Can you imagine?!

ETA: I will post my revised plans soon!

Yes, I was thinking of eating at semi-regular times for my DS2... I think the one on the 5th is the closest one I have with 2 buffets/ AYCE. I'm thinking about making GG into breakfast but it doesn't work for touring. I was also thinking of switching to 50s but prefer the food at GG. So am not entirely sure how to rearrange that one... :P

Thanks @Talby :) I wasn't too sure about lunch at Y&Y and dinner at Tusker. Right now, that's what I'm planning (switch and rearrange a lot) and decided on dropping Tiffins. Sad we'll be missing each other but I think if we all get the 3rd for SW dessert party (fingers crossed and impatiently, very impatiently waiting), we'll all get to meet up! :D You're right about a lot of things being up in the air. It's fun to plan but turning a little frustrating to plan so far ahead without the proper information (my indecision is hard enough on me, hehe!)

If we got paid for planning our vacations, I would say we would all get enough to pay for our vacations! LOL

I'm bored and inspired....

12/6.... 7:15 flight home.... price watching the 6pm flight ;)

Possible changes --- adding another MVMCP on 11/27 or 12/4 ... or EMM on those days

Have I missed anything... can I add more?!? Terrible questions to keep asking myself. It all just means more $$$$

I know we are heavy on MK but that's Disney to my kids. :)

I was wondering, have any of you been to Liberty Tree Tavern? I've heard good things about it, but I'm not sure. Trying to think of more dinner options. My family likes to eat at restaurants for breakfast and dinner usually on trips. We'll do a quick service lunch I think. I;m having trouble thinking of a few dinners. (Not like it'll be easy to get them at this point!) :) But, I was wondering about Liberty Tree Tavern. Being from Boston, I'm not sure if the Thanksgiving meal will be all that unique/special? @LisaF have you been there ?
We love Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch and right now it is the only ADR I have for our Dec trip. The nice thing about that restaurant is that they tend to serve your food rather quickly and we have gotten in and out in 45 minutes. It is also more delicious than any of MK's counter service restaurants. And with the TiW discount, the cost isn't bad, either.

I'm hoping to keep our LTT lunch ADR. I really want that Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake!
That dessert is the number one reason we keep going back here every trip. ;)

Right now I am struggling with what restaurants we want to eat at for this trip. We will be there Dec 3rd to 7th, staying at GF, so it isn't a very long trip. Right now I just have lunch at LTT on Sunday. I want to add dinner at Yak & Yeti but Disney hasn't released ADR's for the dinner hour. I think they are waiting for the park schedule to be finalized. We are also thinking of eating dinner at the Wave. We ate here back in Dec 2013 and really liked the food. I'm also interested in the breakfast buffet, only because I have heard raves about it and I've heard some negative comments about Gasparilla's at GF. I'd love to go to Trail's End for breakfast, too. It is our favorite breakfast buffet and we always eat there when we stay at WL.

We had originally booked BC for this Dec trip, but we switched to GF with the magical free upgrade. I really like the many restaurant options in walking distance of the Beach Club, so a switch to a monorail resort with limited options is making this trip planning a little tricky. We are eating at Narcoossee's for the first time during our October trip, so if we absolutely love it then we might book another ADR there. I'd also like to get over to Disney Springs for lunch at Wolfgang Puck's Express. I have fallen in love with their cheesecake and if we don't eat at Narcoosse's on this trip then we might go over there.

Y'alls plans look good. I am getting so excited. I am curious how Disney feels about these same day fast passes. It seems to me like cheating the system and I am not comfortable with that... I think I am going to talk to Disney about the repercussions and their feelings on it before I decide if it it is something I would do. We are always pretty happy with the three we get. I feel if everyone would stick to their three and enjoy them it would not back up the FP line and make the waits longer.

the FP line doesn't get backed up because of that. There are a limited number of FPs that are distributed for each window and once they are gone they are gone. If you are at anything below maximum FP capacity in a FP line then it is luck, not an expectation of the program. If the FP line gets backed up it is usually because of wheelchair loading or having to stop the line for some reason. Not because people are in it. They are designed to go at a certain rate.

Really what you are getting on the same day fastpasses are what's leftover after everyone else has a chance to get what they want. Also SDFPs are pretty complicated to get right which I think limits the people who use them to die hard disney fans. Most people don't care enough. I have reason to care enough.

My son is in the spectrum and has ADHD and waiting is difficult for him. So if this can make both of our trip a little more pleasant by turning a 40 minute wait into a 10 minute one, I am going to take advantage of it. I'm sorry if that is offensive to anyone but it is just the way it is.

You are welcome to talk to Disney about it but honestly whatever cast member you get on the phone is not going to know what you are talking about. They are notoriously uninformed about what actually goes on at the parks. I'd be shocked if you found someone who even believed it was possible but let us know. Even if they did somehow understand what you were talking about and believed it was possible, they are not really in a position to speak about how Disney as a company feels about it. Disney, of course, knows about the loophole but it is not worth it for them to close it so they haven't. I figure as long as they don't spend the money to close the loophole they don't care that much about it. I don't think it is really impacting anyone's experience at the parks to be honest, so few people use it.

You may be cutting this a little close, especially if your flight doesn't land on time.

3:00pm Y&Y

IF we have time between dinner and SW fireworks drive to BWV and get the room and settle in and take the boat to HS
if not, drive directly to HS

Star Wars Fireworks w/dessert party
I think that you would have plenty of time to go from a 3pm Yak & Yeti ADR to HS for fireworks. I would think that the earliest the fireworks would be is 7:45pm. We just have to hope that they are showing them every night. :)

8:00pm (speculative) ROL with FP+
We are hoping to book the fourth fp via the app for ROL. Not too many people take advantage of the chance to book another fp.

4:30pm leave for dinner at GF (I might actually leave more like 5pm and just uber over rather than worrying about disney transport issues and allowing time for it. Is that trip too short? anyone know?)
The two resorts are a fifteen minute walk from each other. They are really close. I would say two minutes apart when driving, at the most.

after dinner head to magic kingdom and see what we can get for SDFP, probably will focus in tomorrowland aiming for buzz and tomorrowland speedway for the SDFPs
stay til midnight for extra magic hours
When we were at Ohana in June I was able to get a fourth fp for both 7DMT and for Space Mountain. It was for two separate groups of people, but both rides had fp availability. So my sister, son and grandsons headed over there via the monorail. It was a big surprise to see that the rides were available at night. I think I checked around 7pm and the fp's were for 8:15 and 8:45 or something like that.

Thank you all so much for these thoughts!! I think I'll keep the LTt dinner reservation. But, I also keep going back to the wave dining page! I'm thinking of doing lunch that way, and using our snack credits to try a few in each country.

I think "eating around the world" is such a great idea!! We've got several QS we would like to try as well. It really is a struggle to decide, but what a "problem" to have! lol :)

yeah I am willing to take the chance on $20 if our flight is late. if it isn't we should have plenty of time and should not have to wait around for dinner. If our plane is late but the restaurant is still open I can ask them if they will waive the fee since I am eating there anyway. If not, oh well.

I want to do the dessert party which starts 75 minutes before. Right now F! is at 7pm and they are right now having fireworks go off at 15 minutes before F! so I think the earliest it could be is 6:45 pm which means showing up at 5:30 for the dessert party. It's cutting it a little closer than I'd like but if I go directly from AK to HS it should be ok.

IF RoL is happening I would prefer to use my FP+ for it and guarantee it just because with extra magic hours I don't have much need for FP+ in HS that day. I am not hopeful it will even open.

Is there a walkway from Poly to GF? that would take a lot of the unknowns out of it for me! I just googled and found it is so. I didn't want to have to give it an hour between waiting for the monorail and everything. I'm not sure I realized they were so close, lol. it is .9 mile from Kona Cafe (which is kind of on the side the DVC longhouses are on, closer to the T&TC) to Narcoosses. That is entirely doable and looks like a beautiful walk!

Transportation question.......

I've never used the buses to get around Disney, in the past we've stayed at Poly or CR and only gone to MK. This trip will be a first for all the other parks, except Epcot when I was a child.
Everyday to allow 90 minutes to change parks for ADRs. That seems like a verrrrry long time to me. I wonder if it would just be easier to budget for Uber and not worry about the buses, except for going to MK.

I'm already planing to Uber to MCO departure day as we have a 7:15 flight.

Any thoughts?

I believe the path is suggested for all Poly resort guests to use the Grand Floridian's fitness center! I stayed in Aotearoa which is one of the closer longhouses to the path. The walk did not seem too bad. The Grand Floridian is very close in sight! When I needed to make an ADR, I did however utilize the monorail. Being the first stop from the Poly, I do not foresee too many delays, unless that is a day the resort line is down for testing, or if the express is down because it will be flooded with TTC monorail goers! Narcoossee's is also tucked into the very back by the boat dock so there will also be a walk from either the fitness center path or the main building.
