***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

LOL, Lisa F. It's just me, honestly. I can't stand the "up the @$$-ness" of lining up and pushing forward like the first one on the plane wins $1000.00 and a whole entire can of diet coke all for themselves for the flight. (PEOPLE! RELAX! Both ends of the plane get there at the same time!) It doesn't bother anyone else in my family, so I'm pretty sure it's just me. I like organization and order and rude behavior makes me a little :crazy2: so OF COURSE I VACATION AT WDW because that makes perfect senseo_O But I love Disney. Oddly.

I have such admiration for the people that work with the public day in and day out in a capacity like Disney CMs and airline flight attendants. I'm kinda thinking (No, I'm positive) I could not do it. Some of the behavior I have seen... I'd be pushing passengers out the emergency exit door at 30,000 feet.

Lol, too funny and so true!!! I've never flown JetBlue before, but ppl seem to love it so I guess I'll see when we head down Nov 30.
Any suggestions of head phones, ear plugs, etc for a kid that doesn't do the loud parade and firework sounds? My DS (almost 8) totally freaked over illuminations last month. He has never liked loud shows, fireworks booming, etc, but he wants to see them. We want to get MVMCP tix and enjoy the holiday fireworks and stuff.

I like the way you line up in the numbered areas. People at our home airport, and sometimes even Orlando, will politely check everyone's boarding passes to make sure they are in the right number order and no one is getting ahead of each other. I also like the free baggage check. :)

Your meal looks delicious. The Wave had good food. But the rainbow grilled cheese looks terrible. The thought is nice is nice, though.
it was terrible. it was more like a toasted cheese and dry - not grilled at all (maybe to preserve the rainbow color?) :confused3 But the bread is white bread I guess and my kiddo is kind of a little... um... spoiled. He does not like white bread, he likes crusty sourdough or other bakery types of breads (I spoiled him) so we don't often do grilled cheese out, if the bread is "too soft" it is a no-go (also if there are seeds or any textural items). The baked fries were under done - I like oven fries as much as anyone but they need to be crispy. but honestly he wasn't complaining or hungry and after my glow cube drink I did not care. My filet was perfect!

Jet Blue and Southwest are both preferable IMO to any of the "big" airlines. The customer service is in general so much better. Jet Blue is a little higher end feeling but for 3 hours of my life I can slum with the cattle on SW to save enough to pay for my xmas party lol

VIP tour, wow. I didn't know I was in the presence of a VIP lol

We did room service dinner at BLT which is same as CR and it was fantastic. The food comes out of the wave. I had the filet. It was delicious. And a drink with a glow cube. It was delicious. Kid had rainbow grilled cheese. don't recommend. and the fries are baked and kind of undercooked and were not a hit. Good thing my kiddo had a rice krispie treat the size of his head to snack on!

Thanks for the heads up on the rainbow grilled cheese! Love the drink!

The VIP tour is a MAYBE. I'm so scared of the crowd calendar for Black Friday!

I called and got more info last week about the tour. You receive a guide and he or she basically takes you around for 7 hours- all the rides (in fast pass line), priority access to the shows you want, main two things- Jedi Training and priority access to Kylo Ren and Chewbacca. It would allow us to do everything in Epcot (besides storytellers) and HS. Afterwards they drop us off at our restaurant of choice and then we're on our own for dinner/CP/and illuminations.

IF I do it- we won't have to do rope drop at HS to sign for Jedi training, and can split Epcot - for story tellers, and then an evening at HS for Fantasmic and H&V..and hopefully a few more rides.

They are taking reservations now- and I'm not ready to book. A lot depends on travel expenses- flight fares and also I would cut out the rental car and parking at port, I would also not get the "in room experience" from Disney floral and gifts. IF a room discount comes out that would help me make this decision better- but unfortunately won't know that until later, and if I wait that long it might not even be available to book. So we'll see. It sounds great, the money part does not.lol.

I miss Jet Blue. Our airport has horrible for choices. Was a rude awakening when moved here.

Oh I'm excited! I hope it won't spoil it that we will be watching before our party night...but could be nice if we jump on a few rides after celebrate the magic!

I watched it one year from Poly beach, so i couldn't hear the music. I totally watched it again the night of the party. But i can watch them over and over again and always get goosebumps.
It won't ruin them at all! and rides would be nice too... maybe just be on the outskirts of the fireworks so when they're close to being done you can head to a ride quick

@Lisa F just an FYI....touring plans says that on 12/4 the EMH for HS is evening. Looks like you are planning on it being morning. Maybe you have better info?

I think it's speculation based on what the normal schedule is and what they did last year etc....not official. I just checked easy wdw and 1st sunday in Dec says same - evening EMH for HS.

The entire month of november Sundays have 8am-9am EMH for HS. They could suddenly switch for first week of December I guess but I would have expected a switch to happen the week of thanksgiving for a "holiday time" schedule if they were doing that. Also undercover tourist has that day as a red day for HS, which usually occurs when there is a morning EMH (I don't think it was red that day until more recent schedules were posted, because I wouldn't have planned that day if it was... I think when more recent schedules were posted they updated it to make it red since morning EMH usually translate to very busy days at the parks).

Thanks @Lisa F . I just looked at the calendar on TP and sure enough all through the fall including November it's Early EMH. They still have December as evening EMH. Now I'm sooooo confused!!! Have to look at my plan again ugh! Between this and trying to figure out how to plan with changes at AK I'm getting frustrated. Need to figure it out as ADR day is coming up!

Yep, and this is why I'm so anxious to have that preliminary calendar from Disney. Based on what's been going in the months leading up to December, I anticipate the following (but Disney has been throwing plenty of curve balls lately):

Th 12/1 --- Epcot AM emh
Fri 12/2 --- MK AM emh, DHS PM emh
Sat 12/3 --- AK AM emh
Sun 12/4 --- DHS AM emh
Mon 12/5 --- AK AM emh
Tu 12/6 --- Epcot PM emh
Wed 12/7 --- MK PM emh

The ones I'm least certain of are 12/2 and 12/3. They've been doing some funky things with MK and AK emh in November and they didn't put AM emh at AK on 11/28 like I would have expected, so I don't know what they have planned there.

my plans have looked solid to me for months now! lol but they still keep evolving.

I would not leave the park right in the middle of the day for lunch. seems like a HUGE hassle to do that to me. I would do Sanaa dinner first day and then YnY lunch, Tiffin dinner and stay in the park if you want to hit all of those. you are doing dxddp first few days then oop right? our choices are very similar :)

We're doing a break in between for my 2 year old and since we're staying at AKL, I figured we can get a light meal at Sanaa using 1 credit to share. Yes, first 3 nights on DxDP then OOP so majority of my character meals are in those 3 nights.

I'm sort of rethinking my plans to do flying fish on day 1 instead, move Tiffins on day 2 and move yak and yeti elsewhere... I'll need a long while to stare at my spreadsheet again. :P

I'm just teasing. It is a fabulous experience from what I've heard and read (I have a friend who did one of the VIP tours). but yeah it is a big ticket item. Hard decision. I'd def give up the "in room experience" stuff for the vip thing though, no brainer there!

oh i had forgotten that lol. A light meal at sanaa = bread service for everyone to share lol.

Sat 12/3 I plan to be at AK for the day.. but it is listed as green on undercover tourist, so I'd say no
Sunday I plan to be at DHS in the morning through late afternoon
Tuesday I think I plan to be in Epcot (already don't remember lol, it might be HS)
Wed I plan to be in MK after dinner for MSEP and fireworks, would be great to stay up late and sleep in the next day to prep for party the next night!

Every week in November when MK has pm emh on Wednesday, AK has am emh that Saturday. That's why I think it'll be AK am emh that Saturday. No one knows though yet since we're still waiting on Disney. Undercover Tourist is making educated guesses like the rest of us are trying to do. :)

EDIT: BTW, totally not trying to argue with you. Just wanted to explain how I came up with my list. :) Sure hope we know for sure soon! We all want to get our plans finalized before upcoming ADR dates.

Now I'm just bummed! Really wanted to take advantage of evening EMH at epcot, but already bought MVMCP tickets for Tuesday. Touringplans had evening EMH on Thursday. Guess I have trusted their crowd calendar a little too much:crazy2:

Any suggestions of head phones, ear plugs, etc for a kid that doesn't do the loud parade and firework sounds? My DS (almost 8) totally freaked over illuminations last month. He has never liked loud shows, fireworks booming, etc, but he wants to see them. We want to get MVMCP tix and enjoy the holiday fireworks and stuff.
I don't know if he has sensory issues but even if he doesn't, kids who do often have issues with loud sounds and some of the catalogs directed at those kids have good products. Ear plugs are better than ear muffs if you think your kiddo might be embarrassed... though it is dark and I'm pretty sure no one would judge in that situation, it's not like he is walking around with them all day long. Ear muffs might be more comfortable if he doesn't like the feeling of something stuck in his ears. Neither completely block sound but filter it down so it is tolerable, which is good, because he will still be able to hear the music but hopefully it won't be so startlingly loud
