***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

No dessert parties for us this time, but we have MVMCP on 12/6 and unless I change my mind again, 5:00 CP on 12/7. :)

Our other extras are a sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness on 12/4 and the Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour on 12/10. :D
what is the deal with the sleigh ride? we will be out there for HDDR our last night.

I had gotten interested after I came across it somewhere on a holiday Disney guide of some sort, and read a few other good reviews, but this is the review that sold me:

http://www.passporter.com/articles/sleigh-rides-at-walt-disney-world.html

It's a little old (so I hope it's still accurate, minus the price bump. It's $79 now, for up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 kids.), but one of my hesitations was what if we book and nobody's decorated, so it calmed my nerves when I found out there's actually a competition for decorations at the campsites. Plus for us, we are having dinner that night with a local friend, so it was something special and festive we could all do together for a flat fee instead of per person. :)

Looks like we are stalking you! We have MVMCP on the 6th and 5:00 CP on the 7th also :santa:
I know we're not the only ones still hanging, but man, I wish they would announce our narrator already! It's our first time to see it, so I hope it's somebody neat!

This stuff is all extras. We're doing EMM and the mvmcp, and I'm excited about them! but I can almost guarantee that the girls favorite things will be riding the haunted mansion and seeing any kinds of fireworks. Those things will be the most memorable.

From when I was little, one of my favorite memories is the old Mexico ride... And the biergarten dinner show. Sometimes less is more.

Yup! We are not doing a lot of extras. Just emm which I'm shocked dh agreed to.

Also, hopefully we'll be able to add our friend @Mintycake to the 12/3 JBJB party!! I'm still holding out hope something will open up and she'll be able to join us!
I will keep checking but not the end of the world if we don't get it. I would like to go though!

I think @Talby was letting go for SW but not sure for this... @Iowamomof4 decided against it I think... will keep stalking for those who still want it. Crazy how fast these went! I think @Mintycake was thinking about it but it was sold out by the time she decided... I'm sure there will be cancellations after the first reviews...
Yah that's what happened. She who hesit ates :(

I mentioned this a page or two (or 10) ago, but seriously, it's time for them to update their CP presenter list! I'm ready to know who is coming after Whoopie!
hell yeah!

oh boy. Seriously wondering if I can squeeze it in after HDDR. Most places say HDDR lasts about 1:45 but if it starts at 6:15 it might make us a few minutes late. We have a 7DMT from 4:20-5:20 but even if we show up there right at 4:15 it might be a little tight to get there for 5:30, although it would be a sunset sleigh ride before dinner. Might be nice. What do you think of doing it at sunset? maybe the lights wouldn't be on yet. Asking over on the dining board if a 6:15 HDDR into 8pm sleigh ride would work. I wonder if the CM on the Play line would know, I can't be the first to ever ask. I guess I could make it 8:30 but that would be a long time to wait. we still need to get back to the room and pack. But I wonder if 5:30 is just too early to really see christmas decorations as that is when the sun sets.

I would say it's better to do it after your hddr so it's fully dark. They have times going all the way up to 9:30or 10 I think. Definitely some for 8:30. ;) I booked it a while back and cancelled when I booked the holiday dessert party.

We'll keep checking for u! :) I still think there would be cancellations after reviews come out so watch out for availability on Nov 14 I guess.

I think we got to our spot in Town Square about 20 minutes or more before the start of the parade. We were there in time to see the Headless Horseman ride past. There were a lot of good spots to watch the parade. I like that area because the parade has to go around the circle, so you can see it longer. And it isn't too crowded. But we did stand. If you want to sit on the curb you might need to get there a little earlier.
Thanks! Seriously considering cancelling the dessert party... especially if I could get a spot not too long before...

when your kid gets you up at 5am, what do we do?
just keep tweaking
just keep tweaking
just keep tweaking, tweaking, tweaking

yes, I have once again tweaked my FP+. See, I was set with the dining... but the FP+ nirvana eludes me.

so the kid is up with a nightmare and it's clear he is not going back to sleep at this point, so we start talking about our trip.... and talking about our FP+. So I'm thinking about my HS day.

on sunday 12/4 we are doing morning EMH at HS. We are going to get there by 7:30, sign up for Jedi Training, make SDFP for tier 2 stuff, then do TSMM x2, great movie ride, star tours. I think that is doable in the hour since you can sign up before they let you in to the rides around 7:45.

So I had a bunch of FP+ booked... nothing really useful. I had a 9am star tours in case there was a huge line by 9am (unlikely I think), and one for indiana jones to fill the space and one for ToT right before we leave I think 2:35 or something... But I have another ToT booked for before our H&V dinner on our F! day.

anyway.

I got to thinking about how truly useful those FP+ were. I booked them because I felt I was entitled to them and should use them. at around 3pm we are going to leave the park and get freshened up for a 5pm CA Grill dinner. Then if RoL is released, I was going to drop all of those FP+ for a RoL FP+. If not we were going to go back to the room and walk over for illuminations... but what about all of that wasted time between dinner and illuminations?

NEW PLAN!

Uber to contemporary for 5pm dinner then monorail to Epcot. Last year we were done by about 6:20 for our 5pm ADR including a sushi course so I figure being done by 6:30 is not unreasonable. It shouldn't take TOO long to monorail to Epcot. I love doing the monorail approach and wanted to try to squeeze that in once. so I have a 6:40-7:40 Spaceship Earth FP+ and then 7:45-8:45 Soarin'. I also have the Illuminations Dessert party booked. It was a backup in case there was no dessert party at HS. But now I am half thinking of keeping it. Still not sure. 3 dessert parties in one week is not excessive is it? lol. esp after a dinner at CA Grill :-p It would just be so nice to get off the monorail say around 7:15, walk on to spaceship earth (it is probably walk on at that time anyway but insurance is good) then head over and do Soarin' and maybe living with the land depending on how early we get to Epcot and then head over to world showcase to stake out a good spot for illuminations and then walk home after that. Heck we could probably even walk clear to the international gateway bridge in that time and stake out a good spot so we are close to home.

Now i find myself half hoping RoL doesn't actually open :-p again lol. Of course I could just choose not to do it this time!

We don't have any, either. We did MNSSHP earlier this month, so that was it for us. We had a great view of the MNSSHP parade. We stood right next to the viewing area that the dessert party had, and got the same view as they had. We just didn't get any desserts. ;)

I'm sitting on the same fence @Candycane83 is sitting on. but if the parade kicks off at 8:15 and I can still get a good spot at 7:15-7:30 that is huge, that's about the same time you show up for the dessert party. I am not so into the idea of the desserts honestly, I'd rather get a holiday waffle sundae to share with kiddo at sleepy hollow between parade and fireworks.

I guess we should wait and see how crowds are shaping up and being reported maybe. If it's the same show up time with or without the party I am inclined to not do it. Plus we have a chance to meetup, I think it is just me, @Candycane83 and @areno79 at that party now or is there anyone else? the ability to take the kid for a leg stretch and a pee closer to the start of the parade would be huge for me too ;) he is right now running around the living room like a maniac, he is not sitting still for an hour.

haha I just worry about getting back to the hotel too late but it's our last night so whatever. not like I'm gonna sleep that well anyway lol. I guess as long as we are back before fireworks it is fine, even with the boat transfer an hour should be enough time. or if we are just landing at the poly at that time we can just hang at the boat dock for the fireworks and then go back to the room. I guess it's not a huge difference since we are planning to be up for the fireworks anyway. Not sure i'd be able to get it but i think I am going to call and try to book it.

:rotfl2:
:rotfl2: I know we definitely overlap on Epcot day 12/7 ppo at akershus. I know @SilSprBea wpuld be at Garden Grill then and @Lisa F would be rope dropping at Epcot too! ;) (see stalker... :rotfl2:) I'm looking forward to seeing those tags! :cheer2:

Yes I know we'll be stalking each other. All my MK days overlap with @rasadkowski and I plan on waving from BTRR! I know 12/7 is a big overlap day at Epcot for me, @rasadkowski, @Candycane83 and @Lisa F! @areno79 and i have dinner at Chef Mickey at the exact same time too. And while I can't remember if I overlap @Talby we're staying st the same resort! I'll proudly be displaying my first week of December tag. Please say hi if you see me. I'll be on the lookout for everyone too!

You guys are killin' me! Or more specifically, killin' my wallet. After reading about the sleigh rides I decided that this would fit perfectly right after our 6:15 HDDR. This is our last full park day so I'm thinking it would make for a really great last night. Just called to book. Was hoping for an 8:30 time slot but that wasn't available. So I went with 9:00. I considered trying for an 8:00 ride but thought it might be too tight because CM said to be there 15 min. early. Well no 8pm available for my night either so 9pm it is!

@Lisa F,
I literally just called at 7:25 this morning and hold time said it was 30min. wait. Considered hanging up and calling back later today but it turns out my call was answered in only about 4 minutes. I called the number on the Sleigh Ride webpage. 407-939-7529.

I'm right there with you guys on that one! I'm doing the 8:15 12/7 CO and it's my first one ever, so I'm really anxious to find out who the narrator is!

So, I have a question. What do you guys think my chances are of finding a reservation open up for the JBJB dessert party on Friday, 12/9? I currently have it booked for Tues, 12/6, which is my arrival day. Now, I'm not complaining about anything, since I only just learned about this party Sunday night (I've been such a delinquent!) but Friday would really be the ideal day since that's my HS day. Tues I don't actually have park tickets for so will have to add a day when I get there if I keep the JBJB party for Tuesday. Another option is to book it for Sat 12/10 (if it's still available, it was last night). That is currently my AK day. I could flip my Fri and Sat HS and AK days to accommodate that. My only concern there is I already have my fp+ for both days and got a TSMM for Friday. I haven't gotten to ride it in a couple years, and I'm worried if I give it up I won't find one for Saturday. Thoughts?

well I'm sure it is booked up for my night. i hung up, it said 90 minute wait but I will hang on for 10 min or so I guess lol. I am not hopeful for an 8:30 time on a party night though. I assume I am a week before you? 12/9.
