1st trip to Universal-- A Blast...

We recently tookour first trip to Universal after years of going to Disney. I can honestly say that we had much more fun at Universal. So much in fact that we want to go back at Christmas. How are Christmas crowds there compared to Disney? Do the onsite hotels offer discounts during that time period. We loved Royal Pacific and FOTL that I think we are becoming a Universal only family!

Universal will ALWAYS be less crowded than WDW, no matter when you go.

At least for now. Folks like you could change that.

I have gone to MK on Christmas Day and it is claustrophobic. I went to Universal a couple of days before Christmas last year and it was good. From trip reports around that time I think that the second week in December was the best time. Decorations were up, the hotels were cheaper and the crowd was light.

I know what you mean! I thought we were a Disney family until we visited USF! Now we've been 3 times in the last 2 years and we're going again next year!

Someone else posted that as of 7/1 the front of the line access for resort guests has been changed. Did you notice that as well during your trip?
