This will be our first visit to TL during our July 25-Aug 3 stay. Can anyone offer any tips for myself (mom) and DD 14?

Thanks:bounce: :bounce:

This might not work at the time of year you're going but find a spot quick and then go directly to the river. Last May I was able to swim nearly all the way around it without seeing one other person (except for the lifeguards of course).

It's a fun thing to do and makes you feel like you've got the park all to yourself. Most of all, get a map and then HAVE FUN!

We always find it helpful to wear Aqua shoes. The sidewalks can be hard on some feet, and the sun can make them really hot. Get there early, find the place to put your things and go!!! It would be very helpful to get ahold of a map ahead of time, and decide what things you really want to do and what things you could do without if necessary. When we were at BB last August, some things we did right away because the lines get so long later in the day!

Good luck, and have fun!

Deb

Sounds great!! We live in New Hampshire...I hear you about those Winters!!! Do You know where I can locate a printable map for planning?

Thanks Again :-)

You will LOVE this water park! My family and I were in Disney in June and went to Typhoon 5 times. My husband and I agree the best way to ride the wave is to turn sideways and jump into it just as it gets to you. Then hang on! I also like to take a book and sit on the water's edge and read. Just remember to hold it up when the wave comes or else you'll have a soggy read. Have FUN!

We were there in June and it was hard to get my kids out off the wave pool to do anything else. Don't miss the snorkeling--it was awesome! Do it right away and you can take your time b/c noone else is there!

We weren't able to do any slide b/c the waits were too long and it was so hot. Next time we'll rush to the slides first.

Either plan on being there when the park opens or go around 3PM. The park will probably close before noon because it is full. It won't reopen until 2 or 3. Be there at least 1/2 hour before it opens. If you need a covered area (umbrella or pavillion), you have to be quick.

We are going in November, but our best friends just got back ... said their boys (3 & 7) loved this the MOST...but Dad was sad because he hadn't brought a waterproof camera and they were charging over $30 for a disposeable one...he wouldn't pay it...he says there are some incredible photo ops for the child photographer, so shop for a water camera at WalMart or Target BEFORE ya go!

Don't wear a bikini on the waterslides!;) You'll notice they always seem to have guys working at the bottom of the big slides - I have a feeling this isn't coincidence.;)

Also, watch that wave in the wave pool. It's a big one! Have a great time.:D

Go to the red line in the wave pool! That is a great spot to catch the waves--and you've got 90 seconds to get there from the edge before another wave hits!!

One more question....

Are the keys to the lockers on some kind of cord so you can wear them?

Thanks again!!

Get there early, do all the slides and then the Reef! As the park gets more crowded go into the wave pool!

When we went in April, we were only gonna stay a couple of hours but DD and I were having so much fun we stayed all Day!

Yes the lockers have a elastic type cord that you can loop thru your top shoulder strap so that you won't loose it!

Have fun!
