1st trip to DL, 1st Anniversary, 1st time on the coast...COMPLETED!!

your TR is great. I had NO IDEA this board even existed!!

I love how you have taken pics all along....my DH & kids would have killed me if I did! STOP TAKING PICTURES :lmao: oh well.

I'm looking forward to the rest of your report.

I'm glad you found us over here!!! Thank you so much! Yeah, I think that by the end of the December WDW trip, my parents were about to kill me, too!! DH is used to it though so he just follows along! I say stand there and smile and he's like, "OK!" :rotfl2:

Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - Disneyland Continued!

After finishing up our Dole Whip, we thought we'd walk back in front of the castle and see if the Photo Pass Photographer was still there.

dl198.jpg

We found one in front of the partners statue! Yay!

dl199.jpg

I just love all of the pink! Those pink trees remind me of the pink trees that I had on stage at my wedding! I love it!!!

dl201.jpg

I hadn't yet seen the "Snow White's Grotto" so we headed around the castle to see what we could find!

dl202.jpg

I think the details on the castle are beautiful!

dl203.jpg

We found it!!

dl204.jpg

I love the tribute to Snow White!

dl205.jpg

You would think that these people saw that we were taking a picture! They looked at me, looked at Jason, SAW what we were doing, and proceeded to place themselves in my picture! Anytime I see someone taking a picture, I stop, let them finish, then continue on with what I was going to do. Whatever.

dl206.jpg

My Knight in Shining Armor! Hehe!

dl207.jpg

Inside the Castle

dl208.jpg

Now the crowds were picking up as you can probably tell!

dl209.jpg

Sleeping Beauty has a fountain, too!!

dl210.jpg

Ok so THIS is one of the only cases of someone being friendly and offering to take our picture! I had the camera positioned to take a self portrait of us and this lady walked by and said, "Oh do you want me to take that for you!?" Jason and I kind of looked at each other like, "WOW!" and of course we said sure AND we THANKED her profusely for offering! That was SO nice of her!!

dl211.jpg

Next, we walked over to Tomorrowland. We had missed Innoventions earlier and Space Mountain!

dl200.jpg

Unfortunately, the line for Space Mountain was WAY too long so we stopped inside of Innoventions instead!

dl212.jpg

I was looking forward to seeing the "Talk Stitch" or whatever exhibit on the first floor but when I asked about it, I was told that only the top floor was open at this time, the first floor is currently closed for renovations. I was disappointed but oh well!

We walked inside instead and were whisked away by a CM to the ASIMO exhibit. I had no idea what that was but I was willing to see it!

dl213.jpg

I soon discovered that ASIMO is a robot that was created by Honda. ASIMO can run, dance, walk up stairs, and even.......

dl214.jpg

.............kick a soccer ball!

Overall, the exhibit was very impressive! It's amazing to me how far technology has come!

dl215.jpg

As we walked out of the exhibit, we saw this on the wall and just HAD to get a picture!

dl216.jpg

Hehe!

dl217.jpg

Jason of course found XBOX 360, saw Guitar Hero, and that was it. He was lost for about 20 minutes! :rotfl2:

I finally dragged him away and we explored the 2nd floor a little bit more. There was nothing else that was really peaking my interest so we decided to move on!

dl218.jpg

The view from the 2nd floor of Innoventions. Look at ALL of those strollers!!

dl219.jpg

The Matterhorn!

dl220.jpg

Jason's LATE! Hehe!

dl221.jpg

I cannot ride the Teacups at all because they make me sick! I can't spin too fast or even look down (to read) while I'm riding in the back seat of a car! Ugh...

dl222.jpg

We decided that since we hadn't seen Toontown yet, we should go find out what it was all about!!

Toontown was SOOOOOOOOOO crowded!!!!!!

dl223.jpg

Checking Minnie Mouse's mail! I loved Toontown though because it was all so interactive! If I had to chose between DL's Toontown or WDW's Toontown, I'd say that DL's Toontown wins hands down!! There are more attractions, it's bigger, there's more things to see, AND I liked Mickey and Minnie's houses SO much better here!!

dl224.jpg

My husband is so strong...lol!

dl225.jpg

Minnie's House....see how CUTE?

dl226.jpg

I so want this Mail Box!!!!!!!!!

We decided to peek inside Minnie's house first!

dl227.jpg

In her foyer

dl228.jpg

Minnie's Living Room (check out the latest copy of "Jessica's Secret" on the armrest!! :rotfl2: ) I couldn't take very many pictures because of ALL of the people so I was determined to come back another day when it wasn't so crazy!!

dl241.jpg

Mickey's House was next....do you see what I mean about ALL of the people!?! That place was PACKED!

dl229.jpg

Mickey's Foyer.....gotta love the Pluto Door at the stairs!

dl230.jpg

Jason chilling out in Mickey's Living Room!

dl231.jpg

Mickey's Fireplace

dl232.jpg

His telephone/messages

dl233.jpg

WDW fans will recognize this one! It's above Mickey's Fireplace in his WDW home!

dl234.jpg

Pluto's room! I LOVED the classic cartoons that were playing on the TV!

dl235.jpg

He even has a washroom here!!

The thing about Mickey's House in DL is that it's part of the line to see Mickey himself. Instead of having a separate area like the Judge's Tent at WDW, you go through Mickey's House, wait in a line through his house, then enter into a larger "prop" room and a few more lines before you meet up with Mickey. It went by really fast, though! By the time we were halfway through the line and finally figured out what we were waiting for, we were like, "Oh well, we've waited this long...might as well stay and see Mickey!"

A shot of the prop room!

dl237.jpg

Assorted Duck Bills! Hehe!

dl239.jpg

Duck at work!

The Photo Pass CD is on the way so I'll share our pictures with Mickey once I get that in!

After we left Mickey's House, we decided that it was a bit too crowded in there to do anything else. We knew that we'd be back because we had Toontown Morning Madness tickets so we decided to reserve part of another morning for Toontown!

dl240.jpg

On our way out, we saw our first Dream team person of the week!! Yay! Of course we didn't get anything, but it was still cool to see!!

Up next: Bye Bye Disneyland for now, and supper at ESPN ZONE!!!!!

By the time we were halfway through the line and finally figured out what we were waiting for, we were like, "Oh well, we've waited this long...might as well stay and see Mickey!"

:rotfl: Same here, we were just going along like cattle, and than realized we were gonna see Mickey! Too funny! Great upDATE!

Great pictures. I didn't realize that Minnie's and Mickey's House aren't part of the line to see them at WDW. We went through them at night so they were empty.

I like Disneyland's Toontown better, it has more in it, like the Roger Rabbit ride.

Great updates!!!!!!!
I can NOT wait to see DL's toontown now!! It looks super cute! I just love Minnie and Mickey's homes in WdW so I am sure i will really be loving the west coast homes ;) hahah.
The pictures are great as always Karen..thanks for pointing out snow white's grotto too! I never knew about that! :)

Aww thanks we had a BLAST!!! They won and we got to see fireworks after the game! They definitely were no DL or WDW fireworks, but they were good! :rotfl2:

Glad you had a good time at the baseball game, and that your team won. I support the Angels for a number of reasons. First is because they're hometown is closest to me than any other team. but more importantly they're in Anaheim, where DL is, and the Angels used to be owned by Disney with Walt having been on the Board of Directors. lol

Glad you had a great time at the game. I can't believe those people saw you taking that picture and just stood there anyway, oh my gosh. That is just crazy. I love Minnie's mailbox too, actually I want Mickey's at his house in WDW and one of those Mickey benches in front of Disneyland, aren't they just the coolest thing ever, I have to get my photo taken on one each trip, I just love them.

I love all the photos of Mickey/Minnie's house, all the detailsl are so cute, I always take photos of the Pluto stuff because I just love it, the dog door was just super cute, I have a picture of that from my trip in March.

Oh no, so you are leaving DL, do you come back?? Are you visiting other places in CA?? If so are you going to include those in your trip report?? I sure hope so. Can't wait to read and see more, can't wait to your photopass CD arrives, they are always so great. :goodvibes

Oh no I'm sorry...we definitely weren't leaving Disneyland for the week!! We were just leaving to go eat. Sorry I didn't mean to make it sound that way! We come back after supper and we have many more days at DL and CA!! :goodvibes

On our way out, we saw our first Dream team person of the week!! Yay! Of course we didn't get anything, but it was still cool to see!!

OMG KAREN. We saw SO many Dream Team members on our trip that weren't in "Dreaming Mode", Jesus was like "Let's follow them!!" We followed one Dream Team CM at DCA for like 20 minutes, and he kept looking at his watch, I was like "He has to be going somewhere to dream people!!" NOPE!!! We followed him all the way to the entrance.. Nothing..

We followed another at DCA too, nope, she was going no where too.. Boo!

Your pictures are so cute!! I didn't know DLR's ToonTown is bigger than WDW's! Disneyland's Toon Town is small, I think. I think that's why it's so crowded, it's so secluded and the one way in is the only way out. It's always crowded when we go over there too..

I :lovestruc looking at your pictures!

Aww I love their houses in DL! Just another thing to look forward to seeing if and when we go! I saw you said you have Coach glasses...mine are kate spade and the insurance also paid for mine. Hehe. I can't wait to see the pics of you guys and mickey mouse! Also to hear more about your trip. I hope you are having a good holiday weekend! :goodvibes

I def think DL's Toon Town just somehow feels more cartoony! The skyline esp. It was really neat! Great update!

Great pics and update! I can't believe how small the castle is!! :scared1:

Great update so far!! Toontown is such a fun place to walk around and relax if you have time to kill...

The crowds def seemed like they picked up in the afternoon..did you ever feel like it was too much??

Can't wait to hear more!!

I really like Snow White's grotto! So pretty! The pink trees everywhere are so pretty too! I wish I could have those in my yard.

I'm the same way with the teacups (and reading in the car):lmao: DD is still too small for them, but I dread the day she asks to ride!

Aaahhh - strollers everywhere! We just got back from Sea World and it was SO insanely crowded! It took 40 minutes just to get through a counter service line! Looking at your crowd pictures gave me a little flashback!

Loved this update! Snow White's grotto is just adorable! You said she had a fountain too. It looked like a drinking fountain. Is that right? Toontown looks cool! Do they have Goofy Barnstormer & Donald things there too? It did look like things were getting just a little crowded!!! :rotfl2: Time for a break??? You know it! :rotfl:
