1st trip to DL, 1st Anniversary, 1st time on the coast...COMPLETED!!

..................CONT.....................

We scoped out a spot for the Electric Light Parade and found one not too far from the entrance. That was good for us because we had in our plans to go BACK to DL after the parade to watch Fantasmic! lol!

Now remember, no flash, right? Well I thought I'd just take a few "fun" pictures of the little things that spin around...

dl716.jpg

But when my camera surprised me and started taking DECENT pictures, I was in HEAVEN!!!!

dl717.jpg

I LOVED THIS PARADE AS A CHILD!!!!! I hadn't seen it since 1999 so I was super excited when I found that it was showing here at DL!!

((These are the things I was going to take spinning pictures of))

Disney's Electrical Parade! (Did I quote every word? YES I did!!) :rotfl2: Dork? Yes once again!!!

dl728.jpg

This has always been my favorite float and even though the picture is blurry, I'm still posting it!!

Jason wasn't as impressed with this parade...says he likes Spectromagic better but you know what? This parade is a CLASSIC and I LOVE IT!

After the parade, we once again followed the millions of people across to Disneyland and made a bee-line for Fantasmic! We slipped under the rope and squeezed into the sitting area (even though there really wasn't enough room for us but we made it)!

I LOVED this version of Fantasmic! I think that the part of Peter Pan was my favorite! It was a lot different from the Fantasmic at MGM. I didn't take any pictures though...no flash...not worth the effort. After Fantasmic, we hung around for a while waiting for the crowds to die down and then walked back to our hotel. We were both BEAT and it had been a LONG day!

Up next: OUR LAST DAY AT DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another Fantastic Post Karen!!! Love the pictures...I am seeing all this Disneyland stuff for the very first time through your photos and loving every minute of it!!!

The parade at Disneyland looked so beautiful and of course the Electrical Parade would be sentimental to see as well for nostalgia's sake.

And, I have to say, those Mickey Beignets looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Please tell me that they have those somewhere in the World as well!

Love, Love, Love the update. Thanks so much for sharing, and Leroy is one adorable pup! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear more. :surfweb:

Thank you so much!!!! :goodvibes Unfortunately, I've never seen the Mickey Beignets at Disney World. :( I think they are only at Disneyland because they have the "New Orleans Square" theme....but seriously, they need to have beignets in Disney World because they are SO GOOD and oh so cute! Thanks again!

Thank you!! Hehe...glad you like Leroy! My puppy loves to get ahold of him...gotta keep him out of her reach! :rotfl2:

Thanks again!! :goodvibes

Awesome long update! I so loved the beneigets (sp?) at The Orleans Cafe too!!!! I also thought their mid day parade was so amazingly better than WDW...the acrobats and all the neat things they do to make it different! Great update!

I agree! Different but really good too! Thank you very much!!

The only difference with beignets here is that I don't ever remember having dipping sauce with them. At DL, they had two types of dipping sauces. Whatever they were, they tasted really good!

I loved your update, Karen! The beignets look SO yummy!

The Electric Light Parade brings back so many memories! I sort of forgot about what it looked like, but when I saw the snail in your pic it brought back so many memories!

The Parade of Dreams floats are amazing! I think I saw a few of them on a Travel Channel special. Samantha Brown got to play on a couple of them. The white rabbit in roller skates is pretty impressive! I would fall flat on my face if I had to skate in that costume!

LOL about Leroy Jenkins! I have seen the Leroy Jenkins clip in World of Warcraft on YouTube.

Love the update!!

Your Mickey Mouse is adorable. It has a lot of personality. Walt would love it!

I think they have beignets at Port Orleans French Quarter??

so cool they have a build a bear there. Were there a lot of Disney items that you could make? They need one of those at WDW! I love Build a bear...I did one right before my newphew was born and made a Cleveland Caveliers bear. Then I went to a Cleveland Indians baseball game with my friend and saw that you can make a Build a Slider (Indians Mascot) so I had to build that one too because the Indians are my brothers favorite baseball team. So he ended up getting two of them...oh well they were soo cute.
I should probably do one for my son but I think I will wait until he is born...who knows someone else might make him one first.

GREAT update, Karen! As usual! I am so excited for our upcoming trip! I'm ready to buy airfare in the next week or two, and our balance due is do-able in the next 5 weeks. YAYAYAYAY! I'll be combing your TR like mad for tips in the coming weeks! Those beignet thingees looked soooooooooooooooo yummy. Oh man.

Great update Karen! I love your mickey that you drew..i can't draw for beans either..but i think that yours turned out just fine! :)
LOVE the electrical parade..i cant' wait to see it and pretend that i am 8 years old again! :)

I think you are right!:thumbsup2

Check out this from the Breakfast menu posted on AllEars.net from the Sassagoula Food Works and Float Factory:

Beignets - six $3.99
Beignets - three $1.99

It would be quite tough to justify making a special trip there though. However, those beignets are calling my name - LOL!:rotfl:

Thank you!!! Yes that scratch map was from Toon Town Morning Madness! They gave us each one as we walked through the gates! It's a really cute map!! I did not make the envelopes myself....I printed the images from the DISigns board onto stickers and put those on the envelopes! They have a lot to choose from! The ones that I used from our WDW trip were from www.themouseforless.com They have some really cute ones over there! :goodvibes

Thank you! I'll go check out that website.

Those Mickey Beignets look so delicious!! I wish they had those at WDW! :goodvibes

Thank you!! They WERE yummy! I want some more now! lol!! The Parade of Dreams was on a Samantha Brown special and you're right...she did get to play on a couple of them. I don't have enough coordination be dressed in a white rabbit costume and be on roller skates! Like you, I would have fallen FLAT on my face! :rotfl2: HAHA I didn't think that anyone would get the Leroy Jenkins thing! That's so funny!!!!! :rotfl2:

You know...you're right. I totally forgot about POFQ!!! Are they Mickey shaped? That would just be the cutest thing!!!!

Thank you...I'm glad you liked my Mickey Mouse! I stink at drawing so I was surprised it even resembled him at all! lol!

YES!! It was fun....they had an entire section of Disney clothing. I don't remember a lot of Disney "animals" to choose from but OMG the clothes...I wanted to buy it all!! :rotfl2: I bet your son would love a build a bear...even if it's only for display for a while (so it doesn't get spit up or something on it). Cute idea with the Indians bear!!!

YAY!! Awesome! I totally forgot about POFQ having them! I think they were like $6.99 for six of them shaped like Mickey in Disneyland! :rotfl2:

I could go buy the box mix from the store but I can't make them like my grandmother used to! Hers were always fluffly and mine turn out flat. lol!

Thank you! I'll go check out that website.

Those Mickey Beignets look so delicious!! I wish they had those at WDW! :goodvibes

Hope it helps you out!! I wish they had the beignets in the parks! Unfortunately, they only have them at POFQ! Oh well......
Thanks for following along!

Hey Karen! Loved your pictures of the Electric Light Parade. Toontown looked like plenty of fun! Love to see the differences between the parks!

Absolutely fantastic update. Just loved your pictures. It was too bad that your flash had to stop working when it did. But your pictures are still great.

Thank you so much!!!! :goodvibes I was very upset about my flash but I had to stop worrying because I didn't want it to ruin the rest of our trip! I have a warranty on it so I knew it would be fixed when I got home anyway. Thank you again! Glad you enjoyed the pictures! :goodvibes
