Thanks, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time! And don't worry too much about Atlantis. The layout is confusing, but part of the problem for us was that we didn't expect it. If you expect to get a little turned around once or twice and keep a map with you, you'll do fine.

AAAHHH!!! That is SO exciting! Well...I didn't really get a summer. I had to work every single day in an office...so it didn't feel like summer. But it's started cooling off outside, so that's REALLY nice! It's been in the upper 80s all week

DAY 7: Saturday, September 26

Needless to say, I’m not really looking forward to this day. It’s the day we come home.


However, we’ll get up, finish packing, and head downstairs to Boma for breakfast!!!! I’ve been reading about the breakfast there, and I’m almost as excited about it as I am about the dinner the night before. The juice sounds fantastic, and I’m looking forward to having a big breakfast before we head out to the parks.


This day (including what I’m going to wear) is completely up in the air! Our only plan is to eat breakfast, go somewhere, and be back at AKL by 4:30 so we can catch the DME bus.

We’ll head to whatever park(s) that we want to visit one last time in hopes of accomplishing anything we didn’t get to do that we really wanted to do earlier in the week. Or we can re-do things we’ve already done and loved. Michael already thinks he wants to go back to DHS this day, but I really have no clue where we’ll end up.

Since we’re not going to be eating at Tangierine Café on our WS day (now that we’re eating at Columbia Harbour House with the KTTK tour) we might try to make it over there for a late lunch. Who knows. It’ll be a surprise!


After we’ve had fun at our park(s), we’ll sadly make our way back to Animal Kingdom Lodge for the last time. We’ll use any unused snack credits at the Mara (if we even have any!) and then get ready to catch the bus.


Our flight was originally supposed to be before 5….but then it was pushed back to 6:something and now it’s not until 7:30! This is good for park time, but not so good for driving back home after our plane lands.


Hopefully we’ll have no delays and be on the plane by 7:30. This will put us getting back to DFW a little after 9:00, and hopefully we’ll be home before midnight. It’ll be a VERY long day! But I’m sure we’ll still be so wound up/excited about our vacation that we’ll be chatting the whole way home.


And then it’s back to the real world.


This day will be the end of our First Big Vacation Together and hopefully the start of many trips to Disney World together!

I'm getting in pretty early and checking in and then driving over to DHS to spend the morning in one of my favorite parks...TSM here I come!! So maybe we can PM each other and exchange information and if your plans bring you that way we could easily schedule a place to meet and say hi!!!!!!

Aw, you always hate to hear about the last day! And it always sneaks up on you. Our tradition is to always do MK on the last day. It's my favorite park and I'm pretty sure it's Joe's too. I get so sad walking back down main street toward the exit.

Really?! That would be SO great! I'll definitely have to keep that in mind! I really do have a feeling we'll be heading over there--at least for half of the morning! I'll PM you... How awesome would that be?! I'm so, so excited about the Boma breakfast--it just sounds sooo yummy! And Michael and I eat breakfast for either lunch or dinner at least once or twice a week...so we're looking forward to this huge, yummy breakfast!!

Oh--and we got our custom maps in the mail. They're really cool looking. I'll try to post a picture of them soon.

I think I'm going to try to start slowly packing at the end of this week. I'm going to see how many things I can pack now that I won't need the rest of this week and next. I'll for sure be able to pack away the non-clothes things.

I feel like my brain is just frazzled!! I'm so ready for the trip to get here, but there's still so much that still needs to happen between now and then.

As far as the must-do's, I have to echo someone above and say Stitch's Great Escape?!?! Has he done it before and just really liked it?? Because man do I love Stitch, but hated that attraction! If it's new to Michael, then I do hope he enjoys it but that made me .

Man, two weeks!! I know when I started reading your PTR, September felt a loooooong time away, so December felt like a lifetime. But now your trip is right around the corner, and I'm so excited for you!! And it just means mine is closer too!! Thanks Jen! I've been working on it for a LONG time Take all you want from it. I actually got a lot of the items from others' lists.

Yeah He's very adamant about that one. I've warned him... But he wants to ride it so badly that we WILL be on that ride! He said he chickened out of Alien when he was little and he's always regretted it. So now he has to ride Stitch! CoP is just not either of our favorites...but we might ride it if we have a lot of extra time. Don't worry!! BTMRR is on the list--just not the top 4! Haha--I just have WAY too much time on my hands at work

I think I've covered about everything for the list. But I'm sure I'll be throwing in a ton of stuff as we pack! Yeah...I've tried to warn Michael about Stitch. But he REALLY wants to ride it. So we'll be on that ride, by golly! Read my answer above for the explanation... I know--when I started planning this trip, it was October of last year!! And now it's almost HERE! I followed you over from another thread because your ticker looks just like mine! Hopefully we'll see you at AKV. Pleade say 'hi' if you see us.

As for checking in on-line I think the DVC owner needs to do that for you. It has to be done from the DVC member site. It should be no plroblem if they are willing to do it for you. We rented points for a while before we decided to become owners and it is an amazing money saving option.

As for your park attraction list - Jungle Cruise is a fun ride if you like sarcasm and cheeky humor. Also it's great at night!
