Cool. I don't remember mentioning the Super Bowl though. This is not what actually happens. I think the amount of time that Taylor was on scream or mentioned during the Super Bowl was less than a minute.

Watch a regular season KC game. If she's there, you'll know it because every first down, touch down, or anything Kelce involved gets her on screen. And i listen to a lot of sports radio. Yesterday, entire segments were dedicated to their engagement.
I'd say you're overselling this. I've seen enough KC games with her in attendance and it's certainly less than a minute of airtime that she's shown. Nothing that's taking away from the enjoyment of watching a football game. It's no different than cameras cutting away to other random fans in the stands between plays.Cool. I don't remember mentioning the Super Bowl though.

Simone Biles is married to an NFL player. Why doesn't she get more coverage? As I am sure any other popular players engagement would be. How often is Brittnay Mahomes mentioned? You may not be interested in the personal lives of players but it is obvious others are. I am not discounting that Taylor being who she is draws attention. But blame the sportscasters not her.
I don't think her husband plays nearly as much as Kelce.Simone Biles is married to an NFL player. Why doesn't she get more coverage?
First, I'm not blaming anyone LOL. What a weird statement. I'm stating for sports fans it can be annoying. It is what it is.As I am sure any other popular players engagement would be. Second, the only time i hear Brittnay Mahommes mentioned is when it's in relation to Taylor Swift.
Third, i live in Miami and when Tua got married, you heard nothing of it, so no you're incorrect.
I get it. She's practically Michael Jackson now and it comes with the territory. It a minor annoyance. I didn' say she's bad or a jerk or anything like that.
You Swifties are something else
Because Simone and her husband are not as popular as Taylor and Travis.Simone Biles is married to an NFL player. Why doesn't she get more coverage?
Maybe because you don't live here but before Taylor came along Brittany was well talked about though people also couldn't help but be derogatory towards her. These days when I travel (especially internationally) a lot of people if they know where we come from think of Kelce but prior to that it was wholly about Mahomes (mostly how people were gobsmacked at how well he was).Second, the only time i hear Brittnay Mahommes mentioned is when it's in relation to Taylor Swift.
F1 is very different in this respect. Once Liberty Media bought them and pushed for driver's to be on social media, for cameras to be in the paddock (which was not allowed previously), for them to be known as more than just a semi-obscure name (outside of a very select few) to the world their viewership and sponsorship and fanbase itself exploded. Sports fans all over do tend to care about personal lives of the people they watch (soccer is also this way depending on which high profile person you're talking about, basketball as well, etc) and with that comes who their family is, children are, significant others are.I'm stating for sports fans it can be annoying
Having watched enough football games on tv, having attended enough football games I think there's an irony in this statement because do you know just how much time in an actual game is devoted to actually seeing footballI watch football to see football.
The Chiefs are a team that are on/off in terms of success over the years and you get used to it. But let's try not to downplay their current time period of success and notoriety. Mahomes is the reason why Chiefs in this current time period got well known, his more unique style and phrenic nature of gameplay and before Taylor came along the duo of Mahomes and Kelce was well known, at least in the football world. And before Taylor came along they were both quite community-oriented players with a high desire for local investment. The Chiefs have been at the Super Bowl in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025. Taylor Swift only came around to the football scene in September 2023. In truth the Chiefs gained popularity, at this point in time, because they were the new "Patriots" style team and by that I mean people were/are tired of seeing them dominate. They are the team people love to hate. And Mahomes gameplay was just crazy to see in action (and when he and Kelce are linked it's awesome to see).If anything the Chiefs have gained popularity due to TS. So you Chiefies should be thanking her.![]()

about 8 minutes in a 60 minute game. yeah i know. But the game to me is also hearing analysis, replays, etc...Having watched enough football games on tv, having attended enough football games I think there's an irony in this statement because do you know just how much time in an actual game is devoted to actually seeing football![]()
I certainly won't argue it is good for the Chiefs and helps overall viewership of the NFL. There are numbers to prove that.Nothing to do with being a TS fan. Just pointing out that you are certainly exaggerating how much TS impacts how the game and how it is televised. If anything the Chiefs have gained popularity due to TS. So you Chiefies should be thanking her.![]()

Absolutely there are people who are paying attention to the Chiefs when they didn't before because of Taylor Swift (and lordy is there enough merch to show that) but that is a specific type of person and shouldn't be used to make it like people didn't have a clue who they were before her. If you didn't know who the Chiefs were you'd be that person who just didn't keep up with much even semi-related sports stuff.
The highlights articles after the game are good for that, but TBH I didn't really see much analysis on games during the games in the past outside of watching the actual after shows (or pre-shows) that were dedicated to that but during the game really not much except in the beginning of the game before actual gameplay and then sometimes after half-time when they were just coming back into playing the game and that was usually just talking about a player's specific stats either for the season or for that particular game.about 8 minutes in a 60 minute game. yeah i know. But the game to me is also hearing analysis, replays, etc...
Eh yeah I got that but that's not really what your comment at least in the words used (IMO).Not discounting the teams successes, which has nothing to do with Taylor Swift. Because of that they would have gained popularity without TS. Just meant that there are now a lot of people, especially young women, who are paying attention to the team, watching the games (for the very reason that @OhDannyBoy is speaking against) and possibly even buying merch because of TS.
Because Jonathan Owens over his career has bounced between the practice squad and active status and has bounced around the league a bit. He now plays for the Bears who haven't been in the playoffs lately. The opportunities to show Simone supporting her husband after he makes a play are a lot fewer and further between. "There's Simone supporting her husband sitting on the bench all game," though in the grand scheme of things just as worthy, doesn't quite have the same pizazz.Simone Biles is married to an NFL player. Why doesn't she get more coverage?
