This will be a first time visit with (just turned) 7 and 10 year old boys. We are staying on site so will have front-of-the-line access and will be doing the parks for one day before moving on to WDW. They weren't daredevils 2 years ago at Disney, but here's what they liked & didn't like: Liked: Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain; Test Track; Kali River Rapids; Star Tours. Wouldn't do: Tower of Terror; R & R Coaster; Tough to be a Bug; Space Mountain (bad experience on previous trip). Now that I think about it, the things they would do and liked were mostly what they could see and check out before getting on board. Based on this info, which attractions should we shoot for at the two Universal parks? This won't be our only trip ever, so I don't feel like we have to do it all. But I would like to hit the highlights of things they won't find too scary.

At the studios.....

MIB, Shrek, Jaws, Back to the Future and T2

At IOA.....

Hulk, Spiderman, Dueling Dragons, Ripsaw Falls and the Barges.

There is more, but they would love those I would think!

Spidey, they wouldn't do RnR or ToT, but you think they would do Hulk or DD?   Maybe if they are now more daring, but my 10yo who seems similar in the rides that he likes wouldn't do Hulk or DD (and don't think I didn't try...).

He loved the barges, Spiderman, and Men in Black.

T&B

Uh Oh, conflicting advice. Anyone else? I really would appreciate the help.

Hi Grammiemame, Our Spidey loves Hulk and DD - so I guess he forgot the ages of your two!!

From what you have said:

At Universal: they would love Men in Black, Back to the Future, Earthquake, Twister, ET Adventure, Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster, Jaws, Shrek and Terminator 2.

At IOA: they would definitely love Spiderman, Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges (wet one!) possibly Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls (a high-speed wet one!!) Jurassic Park River Adventure, Pteranodon Flyers (if they can get on it!) Camp Jurassic - excellent mountainous jungle with active volcano, squirt guns - kids explore, climb, lots of fun, Poseidon's Fury - walk-through Show (journey beneath the sea to the lost city of Atlantis), One FishTwo Fish and the Cat in the Hat at Seuss Landing.

Hope that helps - have a great day (though to be honest a day won't be enough to do all that - you would need at least 2......and 3 days if you wanted to repeat the fave ones!!).

Agree that you should really try to stay for 2 days. Remember that 1 night in the hotel will give you 2 days of FOTL.

T&B

That's true T&B.

P.s. I have two kids - a nearly 8 year old son and a 10 year old daughter.
