1. We are booked into a one bedroom at BWV in March. The reservations CM, Lulu, told me that roll out beds are not an option. I have a teenage son and a four year old. While generally fairly understanding of each other, sharing a pull out is probably not the best option. Any ideas?
2. We are travelling with another family - the are staying at the BW resort proper - how far are the villas from the rest of the resort?
3. Should I have requested a view or any other contigency that I had no idea I needed!?
Thanks much.

1) Bring an air mattress for the 4 year old to sleep on the floor.
2) You are essentially in the same building, just in different wings.
3) I always request board walk view. There's nothing like it!

Hi and :welcome: to the boards! Never stayed at BWV, so I can't be of help:confused3. Just wanted to give you a welcome. Have a great trip!!

The Boardwalk View is a booking category - so if you don't have it now, you won't get it by requesting it.

If you want to be close to your friends at the inn, as for close to the lobby and on the second floor - that will make it really easy to move between rooms. Otherwise it will be stairs or elevators to the second floor, across the lobby to the inn, and stairs or elevators up that side.

The one bedroom has this huge closet in the bathroom that would make an excellent "fort bedroom" for a four year old if you bring an air mattress and a sleeping bag.

Is your reservation with points or through CRO? If through CRO, you cannot guarantee a view, it will probably be pool/garden. If with points, you book a specific view category (standard, preferred pool/garden, boardwalk).

Thanks for all your help. We booked through central reservations. I will ask for something close to the lobby. Do all the villas have a balcony or patio? I suppose if all else fails, DH and I can sleep on the pull out and the boys can share the king bed! My older son is 11 and went to WDW five times in his first six years. Younger son (5), has never been - silly us. After lurking on DISboard for some time, it is clear I was an amateur. But no more; I am det ermined to read and learn!

We are at WDW from Sun-Sat and bought the 5 day pass. Should we upgrade to the 7 day pass in the event we want to run over to a park after we arrive (approx. 4:00pm) or before we leave (1:00pm).

Thanks for the warm welcome.

The MYW passes are set up that adding more days is a diminishing cost, so it's probably well worth it.

You can check out ticket prices HERE. It appears the 7-day is only $5.00 more than the 5-day for adults, and $2.00 more for children.

If you are also getting the park 'hopping' option, that is the same add-on amount whether you get a 5-day or a 7-day, so the differences are still only $5.00 and $2.00, which is pretty cheap for two additional days.

Totally worth it to extend to 7 days. Thanks for the info. Are there any BBQ facilities at BWV in the event we want to cook out one evening. Also, if you rent pontoon boat to see the fireworks, can you pilot it yourself? We did a few years ago while staying at GF, but it was in the daytime (if that matters). Thanks everyone!

Welcome to the DIS!

There are BBQ facilities at BWV. There is a picture of it in the DVC pictures thread.

I would request close to the elevators as well. It wouldn't have to be on the 2nd floor if you were on the same floor.

Could you, dh, and the 4 yo all be in the king bed? I don't know about using the closet as suggested for an aerobed, but the bathroom area in a 1 bdrm is pretty darn big.

You will love BWV. All of the views are pretty good, but the Boardwalk View...Wow!

Don't be surprised if you decide to purchase DVC at BWV. Its that great!

I'm pretty sure I've read here that BW View rooms are not available through cash reservations, so my guess is that the room with be pool/garden view. That means the view will be of the canal or one of the pools.

Just wanted to say that we stayed at BWV in Dec. 07 and loved it  being able to walk to epcot and take a boat to mgm was wonderful :cool1:

Enjoy your trip :wizard:

unfortunately (or fortunately, depending upon how you look at it ;) lol) BW views are only available when staying on points (not even if staying with DVC member discount).
as others said, you will prob have what is called a pool/garden view. & all the pool/garden views at the BW are beautiful, imho :cloud9:
we've used a aerobed with 2 teenage kids, (girl got pull-out, boy got aerobed, & loved it!). very easy to carry (put it in its own duffle, then in a carry-on suicase for ease of carrying). extremelly comfy, & inflates & deflates in just a very few minutes.
you're going to love the BW ~ there is so much to do & see, & there's nothing like just strolling over to EPCOT for dinner and/or illuminations...:cloud9:

am I missing something, but there are rooms above the Boardwalk, even on the INN /Cash side. Call early in the Morning if you can't get there earlier on checkin day, and ask for a Boardwalk view. Heck ask now too. If you don't ask they can't say no!

Good Luck!

John

She's in the Villas, her friend is in the Inn - the BW Inn rooms are also a booking category on the CRO side - like MK view at the Contemporary, you don't just get it for asking, you pay for it.
