I am a DW addict (even AP holder 3-4 times most years) .. but a newbe on US/IOA.

I am thinking of changing my 1st 3 days from Pop Century in Aug to UA.
I am going for 10 nights, currently 8 are on points.. but 2 are cash.. I thought maybe I'd drop 1 night of points, and do 3 in US.. There will be 2 AD and 1 DD6 (a chicken with big rides.) I AM DYING to see Suess Land.

I need line passers.. so a US/IO Hotel is my only option.
I will think I will do 2 or 3 whole days and a 1/2 day (1st day there).
Looking for the least expensive skipping ride option would be best choice.

Also I go to Disney June 2012, so if 2 trips makes AP more adantag I am open to spending 200$ today to say 400$ tommorrow.

Please send me in the right direction, specials, whatever.

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

THANK YOU!

So I booked 1 night.

I booked 08-27 at Royal pacific.
For 27th meal ticket included and included for 28th Cat n hat Char breakfast

2 days 1 park tickets for 2 AD and 1 CH 6
Total 710$.

Thoughts? Good deal? Do you know of a better deal .. ?

Doing 2 nights it was 857$ 1 night was 710$.

I recommend using mousesavers.com . Go to the Universal area, it breaks down all the current deals, offers and prices offered nearly everywhere.

:thumbsup2
Can I add on the tickets, cat n the hat breakfast, and all day meal vouchers too? Or should i try to seperate these?

I would really not bother with the deal meal. It is counter service with limited choices. There are so many better places to eat that are offered in the meal deal.

that is a high number........

book everything separate.
do the hotel ressie.

get the park tickets on line.

you can do a ressie for the character breakfast and pay for it in advance if you wish.

skip the meal deal since this is your first visit.
hours are shorter in late august for the parks.

august is in the low season.
rates are generally very decent at that time period.

check around for rates and call to modify your room rate when you find something cheaper.

when you say you booked one night, i am assuming a standard room. right?

:thumbsup2 I was thinking it was good for kiddie and chicken fingers n fryes and free pop all day. Maybe I'll just get one for DD6 as she is always eating and it would be worth free pop anyway.

Deal I'll call back and see what AAA disc are and only for room. or just 1 night, with best disc.
Do I the Cat n the hat through this phone too, or call someone else?
I'll get tickets from undercover tourist, or Costco.
And another agreed on meal plan. I'll prolly only get it for my dd6, as she never stops eating, so even 2 stops and a pop is it an easy win. I'll skip the adults.
Thank you all!

you can buy the meal deal but if you want pop, you also have to buy the beverage deal.
they are two separate charges.

no beverages are included in the meal deal.

check the hours when the park will be open on your date.
the meal deal begins at 11:00 and no breakfast is included.
people that use the meal deal at the end of the day, must do so 30 minutes before park closing.
no meal deal after that point.

i scheduled a character breakfast once i was at the hotel.
since you plan on only one night, do call in advance.
if you call the incorrect number, the TM will transfer you.

i use the toll free number for universal vacations.

you could buy an universal mug and use it for cheap refills once it is empty.
and, you can take it back with you in the future.
they are always valid and eligible for the cheap refills.

DOOHHHH then skipping the meal deal.. and buying the mug deal!
TY!
I would love this 710$ to be 550$ when I am done! YEAH! thanks!

Okay I now have a room only booked for 2 nights.
186$ per night at lowes with AAA discount. I assume standard.

I am going to Costco this week to see if they still have the 3 day tickets for 139, if not I will go with the 2 day pass throught undercover tourist. (Only going 2 days either way.)
I will book cat in the hat breakfast the week before, skip the meal tickets, but get the refill pop cup.

Any other help much THANK YOUS!

Now I have to price line the rental car, as we always use Disney transportation.

i avoid renting a car while i am at universal onsite hotels.
there is a $15 per night charge for parking at the hotels.

for the $30 you would save by not having a car could go for the taxi for you to get there.

I have already pricelined a car, so to late for no go on that.
Question about the mugs. Can I buy a mug from ebay, is this a No-No. If this is okay, what do they look like? Do you pay per day for refills.
I always do Disney mugs every year, cause we do DDP for 1st night.
Very interested in refill mugs. Skipping meal plan.

Also I am checking out Costco this weekend, that seems to be the cheapest way to buy tickets right? We are only using 2 days for Aug 2011, but going next June and Aug 2012, so the 3rd day is easy to use in a yr.

Totally open to a better option. Like we buy the 10 day non experations from DW just for waterparks tickets and use those yr to yr. in combo with our AP for reg parks.

We just bought AP's because we are going at least twice this next year. The AP discount on the room alone can justify the price of an AP.

Are there always AP discounts?I trie AP in the US home page and no discounts listed.
