We left Sacramento, Calif. 6/18. Southwest.
Myself: (48); DH (48) and DS(17). DD(18-1/2) stayed back home (this plays a part in story).

We had to take a unexpected stop in Dallas, TX to re-fuel!. After just stopping in Albuquerque, NM! Go figure. After letting off New Mexico passengers, we all scrambled to get other/better seats. DH found the emergency exit seats! OH MY GOSH!!! These are great seats! So much leg room. If only DH could have been less big, I was sooo squished sitting next to him. Drat. But, the thunderstorm show we saw over Louisana was so worth the flight. Incredible. Finally arrived 1:00am Florida time. Airport is very cool! I liked that shuttle thing. Empty though. Certainly did not have to worry about Alamo rental lines! Once we stepped outside we were BLOWN :faint: by the heat and humidity!!! Got lost trying to find our timeshare (Celebrity Resort). Arrived 2:30am. whew.

Sunday: Day of rest. Woke. Drove on 192 and passed the WalMart, etc. Looking for place to eat. Ended up (trying to make DS happy) at a steak roadhouse type place. First thing I am eating is a cheeseburger and dead tired. I took the hints of fellow DIS'rs and explored the resort hopping via monorail. We got soo lost trying to find our way in the WDW area! Unbelievable! Day of rest.

Monday: Epcot. Forget arriving at parks first thing. Traveling with 17 yr old boy made that plan soon to dissapear. Arrived 9:45am. Went to the Innoventions (West I think). Did not like that at all. Boring. I utilized the sending of E-mail to DD at home. Test Trak next, that was fun. Got FP for MS and then roamed to Worldshowcase, Cananda. DH did not go with us to MS, but DS and I then went on it. OH MY GOSH, did that make me sick or what. geesh. Give me a roller coaster any day. ha ha ha
Ate at Liberty Inn. Tuna Sandwich for me. Very good. $27 for three of us. Ate in the evening at a local chain type restaraunt called Glen Evan? Or something like that. That was a terrific !!! place. The rolls are homemade right there. We got ours straight out of oven! $27 for the meal(dinner). Lots of things in Epcot we did NOT see. Living seas, Universe of Energy, Wonders of Life. The heat/humidity drained all energy from DS.

Tues. MK: Well, as my signature says, I am a seasoned traveler to Disneyland. Could NOT help but compare. POC at DL is so much better. Visited City hall to check our hopper cards (slight situation, no biggie). Went to get the famous treat I had been hearing about: Dole Whip. VERY GOOD. Then the call came: Daughter calls from home. Frantic. Saying my DH's truck had been stolen. Yep. Stolen. And to make matters worse, my husband elected when he signed it up on our insurance a couple of years ago, NOT to get collision or Comp. coverage.  Well, I helped her to get the necessary information needed for the CHP report. We sat in misery now.
But, since the trip was paid for we had to press on. (troubles grow later , when we return).
In the evening hours I suggested (with my new found knowledge of the parks thanks to this board!!) we take the ferry to Ft. Wilderness to try the Trails End Buffet. While on the Ferry I run into another DIS'r !!! She and DD had their buttons on!! I acknowledged them! Once we got off, we chatted! Ugadog99 and Keypooh90. Such a treat! My DS just laughed at the fact that "we" have our buttons to acknowlege one another! ha ha He thinks we are crazy. The buffet was not as cheap (my opinion) as I thought it would be. $51 for the three of us. Geesh. And to make it sting more, my DS only ate some chix and mashed potatoes. oh well. I enjoyed it VERY much and it was a wonderful Treat! to see.
Okay, now the part where I really did not like the exit procedure of MK compared to DL.
The fireworks were being displayed. WISHES, right? We were ready to head on out, but basically started heading towards Maint St. during the display. We were in the middle of Main street when it started to finish. Then we were in the middle of the mad house to exit. oh my gosh. First you have to wait forever !! to get the ferry to the TTC. Can't they get a FP for that "ride"? ha ha ha Some guy suggested it and I just laughed! Trust me , I am the one in the family that says at DL, "come on, guys! the park does not close until 11:00 or 12:00! let's do another ride or two!" But here, the heat just drains you.
So we wait and wait for the ferry. Finally we are on and then we arrive, I realize we have to wait for about 6 trams until we get ours to get to the car. Yikes. I will not leave right after the fireworks!. hee hee
Continued:
(remember, we deal with more woes once we get home)

How terrible that your truck was stolen! I hope you got it back. I'm looking forward to the rest of your report. :)

I must say that I had a better experience than you did while exiting the park. After Wishes we left & got on the first ferry to leave. Then we got off the ferry, got on that tram & left. However, we are very fast "walkers". I had originally wanted to wait about 30 minutes after Wishes, but then I was glad that we didn't because everything went so smoothly.

You were lucky. If I had KNOWN of the situation that lie ahead I would have certainly picked up my pace too. drat it anyway. Or I would certainly have taken in a ride after the WISHES, but you know, dealing with DS and just wanting to leave. I really had a ZEN like quality about me during the trip. Being the planner certainly made me like that I am sure. I totally totally enjoyed this trip though. It was a WONDERFUL opportunity.
I think I will type up PART III tomorow and you can read about the coming home and dealing with two more troubles. hee
