This will be our 1st time at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort pirate:. My lifetime goal is to stay at each resort at least once :yay:. The resorts that we have already stayed in have been amazing and it is hard to pick one above the other. The Grand Floridian was amazing from the second we stepped off the bus until we were forced to get back on. The staff was the best. The rooms were beautiful and large. The pool s were great. The views were amazing. The food and entertainment can't be beat. Then the location being on the monorail, walking distance and having the boat options too it can't be beat. Port Orleans Riverside (Dixie Landings) tugs at my heart because it was our very 1st resort. Yacht Club is a great location and has a great pool. Boardwalk is great location, and good food options. Like I said hard to complain but if I had too Coronado Springs and the Contemporary would be my bottom 2. Coronado is massive, spread out, long waits for buses and our room wasn't maintained well but they did respond to our concerns. The Contemporary had cleaning issues also and just wasn't our style but again the staff responded very quickly. Which brings me to Caribbean Beach, whats the word on it :) ? Anyone have room location tips? Hows the food court? How are the buses? Has anyone done the fishing excursion there and how was it? Hows the pool? Thanks guys!

We absoultely love the CBR and our stays there total somewhere in the 100 night range. Recently, someone over on another thread asked a lot of questions regarding the resort, best location, room type, food court, transportation etc. I posted three lengthy posts and I think that they'd probably help answer many of your questions too.

Take a look at the following posts:

I have a lot of pictures of the resort in my trip report. If you'd like to take a look around, simply click on the link in my signature.

We stayed in Jamaica which was close to two bus stops and only a 5-7 minute walk to the pool area and food court. We didn't have any trouble with the buses. We haven't done the fishing excursion. DD who was 10 at the time of our trip LOVED the pool area.

I chose the hotel for the pool because I knew DD would enjoy it. DH stayed home. Had he joined us I would not have booked the hotel because of the full size beds. The hotel is in the process of a renovation and they are supposed to upgrade to queens. I'm not sure when the reno is slated to be finished or which sections have been upgraded.

My lifetime goal is to stay at each resort at least once - Ours is too .... at least for the moderates and deluxes .... only the Poly remains on our list.
Coronado is massive, spread out, long waits for buses and our room wasn't maintained well but they did respond to our concerns - We just stayed at CBR a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. It is also "massive" but that didn't really bother us, we like to walk. We stayed in the Martinique section (5 minute walk to food court) and found it to be a great location. It was generally the first bus stop for picking up and dropping off. The food court has a decent selection as well as a fairly large seating area. Busses at every resort can be hit or miss but CBR has more stops (7) than most of the others. We didn't try the pool but it looked nice.

Like the post above I stayed in Jamaica as well and loved it! My boyfriend's sister and brother in law suggested it to us when we booked because it's their go to request as well. I loved walking through the "jungle" like set up where you can see flowers and birds and relax to get to the dining hall. Also there is a bus pick up right there across the parking lot from Jamaica.

We happened to eat lunch at the dining hall before boarding ME to go back to the airport and we got the biggest sandwiches I've ever seen in my life! It literally looked like a giant cake of assorted deli meat on an onion bun that they sliced like wedges of cake. My bf got a cupcake filled with cookie dough that he still raves about to this day - and we went 3 yrs ago.

I really enjoyed the place and I'm sure you will too :thumbsup2

I'm glad you are excited about your trip, I too have a plan to stay at every Disney resort at least once.

We stayed at CBR back in 2012. We booked a preferred room because I heard it had a large resort layout (similar to CSR, when we were there we stayed in the Ranchos area, beautiful but a LONG walk to the main area) and I didn't want to be way out in the "boon-docks".

Overall I really liked the resort, it was pretty, well maintained, the food court was fine, the rooms were fine. I have to be honest with you, the bus situation was my one downfall... There are around 7 stops just around the resort, and depending on where you are staying and how full the bus is, you will be taking that trip every time you leave and come back to the resort.

The nice thing was, the stops were pretty frequent and in our situaton there were two stations we could get off and walk to the the room.

Overall did I enjoy my stay? YES, did I like the bus transportation? No. I wouldn't let that hold you back from trying another Disney resort! :)

We love CBR and will be back there in less than 2 weeks! It is a massive resort but I love the fact that I feel a little "secluded." You don't have tons of people right on top of you. We have stayed preferred as well as in Aruba and honestly the walk times to the main building were about the same. This time we requested Jamaica.

We love the tropical feel of the resort and even though it has 7 bus stops, it never felt like it took long before we were off to our location. We have never waited more than 15 minutes for a bus. Usually it is less than 5 minute wait.

Enjoy your stay!
