This will be are 1st trip home to SSR. We're arriving on 10/23. We haven't stayed at a DVC resort before. Just wondering what items are must haves and were everyone gose to get the stuff they need? Does anyone know if there is a Super Target close by?

Also, I was wondering how to get my hands on a countdown.

You did not mention what type of room you will have, but I will try to get you started:

I always bring from home:
Salt and pepper
Tea bags and coffee in filters
Brita type water pitcher
Small container with sugar (for coffee and tea)
A paring knife (the one provided at VWL is quite dull)
A large coffee mug for DH
Ziploc bags

I don't know about if there is a Super Target nearby. We usually either make a grocery stop on the way with the towncar (if we fly) or drive over to Winn Dixie if we have our car. I would suggest asking the valet for the location of the nearest grocery. They can give you directions. However, stay away from Goodings....high prices!

It depends on how much you cook and how much laundry you'll do.

You will have paper goods (toilet paper, paper towels) provided - so don't worry there. If you need more call. Also, soap for the diskwasher (if you are in a one or two bedroom).

You will have one prepackaged coffee and filter. Not good if you want to make coffee. And one load worth of laundry soap.

On our list:

salt and pepper
coffee filters
ground coffee
cream
sugar (I pack a small tupperware)
milk
juice
cereal for the kids
bread
peanut butter
jelly
laundry soap
eggs
cheese
bagels
water
good corkscrew (the one in the units is bad)
wine stopper (none in the unit, and by the time the cork is out with that bad corkscrew, I couldn't reuse it).

You'll note I have stuff for wine, but I buy a bottle at the gift shop if I decide I want it. Just easier, and my husband doesn't drink it, so I might not bother to buy it. We've also found eggs to be reasonable at the shop, and while you pay convienence store prices, that's what I'd do if I wanted a frozen pizza or something.

My limo driver always stops at Publix, but since he's the one driving I can't tell you how to get there. I can tell you that it's a clean well stocked store with reasonable prices.

And here's a list of supplies that ARE in the room, maybe that will give you an idea of what you'll need to bring:

There is a Super Target (I think!) off the road that takes you to the airport (might be 417, it's a toll road, so have change handy). It is exit 11 Orange Blossom Trail. The Target is right there and there is also an Albertson's. It is not as convenient as others but there is something about being familiar with where you shop. We usually go to the Albertson's 'cause that's where we shop at home.

There is also a super target nearing completion on 192 not far from where you make the left off 535. We were at WDW 9/23-9/30 and noticed it on our way to the super Walmart in Kissimmee the day before Jeanne. It may be operational by your trip. One thing I would add to others mentioned is plastic wrap or foil if you plan to have items that won't fit in zip lock bags. We just used a plate to cover the large bowl of cut up fruit but did wish we had other options. Laundry soap tablets and fabric softener sheets are directly under coffee filters on our list of things from home. Most trips we end up just doing breakfast and snacks for the room but this time we had the hurricane to plan for so eneded up with more food than usual. A lot depends on what your plans are for eating etc, Hope you find your first trip home truly magical.
