I’m headed to Disney for my birthday (June 7th) and using the dining plan for the first time. Somehow I have managed to miss out on it every time Disney has offered free dining but not this time. I just booked this Monday and conveniently the 90 day mark is this Sunday. :woohoo: So for the past week I have been voraciously scouring menus and dining reports for the perfect ADR schedule. :surfweb: My husband may think I am insane for planning out my meals 3 months in advance but a girl has to be prepared especially when it comes to Disney dining.

So here is my plan. What do you think?

It isn’t complete so I would appreciate any suggestions and feedback. We have 7 days on the DDP.

Day 1 – Arrival Day
Planet Hollywood Lunch (OOP – will use voucher)
TS - ??? Dinner

Day 2 – My Birthday @ MK
CS – Cosmic Ray’s or Pecos Bill Lunch
TS – Crystal Palace Dinner

Day 3 – AK
CS – Flam Tree BBQ
TS – Boma

Day 4
CS – ???
TS – Chef Mickey’s Breakfast
T-Rex Café Dinner (have discount card – woo hoo)

Day 5 – DHS
CS – Backlot Catering or Starring Rolls Lunch
TS – 50’s Prime Time Café Dinner

Day 6 – EPCOT
CS – Somnerfest in Germany Lunch
TS – Le Cellier or Coral Reef

Day 7
CS – ???
2 TS – Hoop-Dee-Doo

Day 8 – Departure
CS – ASMu Food Court Breakfast

We (well I) want to do Hoop-Dee-Doo for sure but I am also thinking about doing the Luau instead of Boma and 50’s Prime Time Café. What do you think?

Are you staying 7 or 8 nights? DDP is figuired per night, not per day.

If you are staying 7 nights and you fill in that first night's TS then you will be one TS over. So if you want to do a 2 TS meal then you can use day 4's CS on day 1 instead. You will have two TS on day 4, so probably don't need another CS that day.
Day 1 – Arrival Day
Planet Hollywood Lunch (OOP – will use voucher)
TS - ??? Dinner CS dinner instead

Day 2 – My Birthday @ MK
CS – Cosmic Ray’s or Pecos Bill Lunch
TS – Crystal Palace Dinner

Day 3 – AK
CS – Flam Tree BBQ
TS – Boma

Day 4
CS – ??? snack for lunch instead
TS – Chef Mickey’s Breakfast
T-Rex Café Dinner (have discount card – woo hoo)

Day 5 – DHS
CS – Backlot Catering or Starring Rolls Lunch
TS – 50’s Prime Time Café Dinner

Day 6 – EPCOT
CS – Somnerfest in Germany Lunch
TS – Le Cellier or Coral Reef

Day 7
CS – ??? Where will you be during the day?
2 TS – Hoop-Dee-Doo

Day 8 – Departure
CS – ASMu Food Court Breakfast

We (well I) want to do Hoop-Dee-Doo for sure but I am also thinking about doing the Luau instead of Boma and 50’s Prime Time Café. What do you think?

Your selections look good! I would personally rather do the Luau instead of Hoop-Dee-Doo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like you have one too many TS planned for 7 nights if you are doing a 2 TS with HDD, unless you are paying OOP for one of the TS. Or the 1st one you have ?? will stay blank. Plan looks good to me though. Those that you have ??? for CS, leave it that way and you can just see where you are and what is appealing at that time. Get familiar with the list of CS restaurants in each park and that way you can have an idea of where to go when you get hungry and for what type of food you want. Or the nearby resort/DTD CS. That's the good thing about CS, you don't have to lock yourself into anything and can wing it. Of course, I'm one to talk because we're planning on doing DxDP and pretty much all TS on our list. (we'll do a late breakfast/early lunch and a signature/2 credit dinner for most days)

Have fun planning!

Aside from the # of meals confusion, I have to say your choices for meals look great to me... very similar to what I have planned for July! I hope you're able to make all those reservations! Just remember to be flexible... just in case something is booked.

And, although I haven't done either Coral Reef or Le Cellier yet, based on reviews and menus, I'd pick Le Cellier if you can only try one of those. (I'll be trying both on our trip, as long as we get those ADR's!)

You are so right. I will only have 7 TS and I have one too many listed. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback and it seems like I am finally getting this under control.

Thanks!

some CS options:
DTD - Wolfgang puck express or earl of sandwich (both excellent ~ we prefer WPE tho)
morrocco CS is also very good; mexico CS is good (not great, but satifying & somewhat authentic).

definately keep 50's PTC & boma, rather than poly luau (no contest there)

despite popular opinion on the DIS, we would pick CR over LC. we've eaten at LC a number of times, & have yet to find the food better than average (more akin to a lesser steakhouse). on the other hand, we eat at CR at least 1-3x every visit (so, 3-9x a year), & have enjoyed the food & atmosphere every time.
another TS option is cape may at the BC. their buffet is very good.

hth :)

I would just have CS at my resort before heading to AK, a snack at AK to save room for dinner at Boma. You will not regret that, but you will regret not having enough room to try everything or to go back for more. The Boma buffet and soup pod is absolutely amazing.

Skip the Luau.

Depending on your arrival time you many not need a second meal that day.

I'm not a fan of planning CS at the parks. You may very well be way on the other side of the park when hunger strikes and CS is meant to be convenient. I think trying to plan, esp in the parks is a bit dicey. What worked well for us was having a list of several places that would be acceptable. I think Columbia Harbor House was our MK choice. Well guess what, it was closed everytime we wanted to eat there so we never did. Cosmic Ray's was on the list too, but we were on the opposite side of the park, close to Peco Bill's so we went there. Another night I was famished after Spectro, I remembered comments from DIS about Main Street Bakery, perfect it was open and OMG it was awesome. :goodvibes

By the way since you are having a big dinner at CP for you birthday I'll put in a plug for MSB for lunch. It will be lighter meal than CR or PB AND you will be able to get real cake for your birthday. You gotta have bday cake. :cool1:
