1st time AP and DCV trip

My husband and I are taking our 1st DCV trip (but have been to WDW many times before ) in Feb 28 to March 7 2003 with our 22 month old DD. We plan on getting annual passes (not premium) because we are going back Dec 2003.

Since many of the "perks" of an AP is room discounts, are there any other perks that are worth it for DVC members or are most of them the same? I read another thread about AP and it does apear many DVC members get them.

Should we buy AP vouchers before we leave, are the prices going up? I think I am going to miss having your park tickets, credit card and room key all in one card.

Does anyone know if the AP lounges are still open?

The lounges are closed right now. I use my DC to get a discount on AP - with DC Adult is $375.24 vs $391.14 without.
