We just got back from our first stay at POP and we loved it!! We have stayed at deluxe, moderate, and values and we really like POP one of the best of all.

Our DS wanted to be near the bowling pool so I requested the fifties and were given room 2172. It was on the ground level about 20 steps from the pool which worked out perfect for us having a toddler and an older child that wanted to swim a lot.

I have heard complaints that it is noisy and it was a little noisy at times esp being on the ground floor and so close the pool but it didn't bother us. If you are sensitive to noise you might want to request a room that over looks the lake or a top floor.

Our 6 year old son started vomiting in the middle of the night one night and we called house keeping and within 10 mins we had more bedding and towels. They were very nice even at 2AM!

I will be glad to answer any questions!

Sounds like you had a great time. Hopefully your little one is feeling better. We adore Pop and stay there every time we can. It's just such a fun place to be.

Glad you had a good time.:thumbsup2 Sorry about your little one though :confused3 . We stayed in the 50's building, on the ground floor, next to the parking lot in Jan. 05 and it was noisy-but that's because we were right next to one of the main cart paths and those little carts zip by at all hours! Now when I make a room request, I pick an area that doesn't have a major cart path, and we've been fine. Last time (Sept. 06) we were in the 70's building, ground floor, and no carts to be seen (or heard)! It was great-no noise-just a few ducks on a.m. DD7 had fun feeding them right from our doorway. :wizard:

I'm thinking of trying a different area this Sept. We've done 50s, 70s, and 80s (1 night) I think I'd like to check out 60's (non-preferred), maybe on an upper floor. We always request ground floor but I think it would be great to have a fireworks view over the lake:grouphug: !

We stayed in the one of the '70's bldgs -very quiet and remote. I suppose we could have been closer to the pool and main bldg, but I liked the peace and quiet

Having stayed at CBR and now POP, could you share your pros and cons of these two resorts specifically, and why you would choose one over the other?

TIA!!

So glad to hear you had a good time. Counting down the days until we are there! Hope your little guy is feeling better.

I would choose POP over CBR any day but I don't really care for the way the moderates are laid out with the bus system having to stop at some many different places. We really loved the food court at POP and the pools were nice.
We might have just had a bad location at CBR but we were so far from the main pool that we never used it.

We also liked the theming for the kids better at POP. CBR theming is sort of boring compared to POP's bright colors and icons.

I really don't want to hear that you would prefer to stay at POP over a deluxe....
I have never stayed at POP and we were able to get reservations there for this fall and today we got upgraded...for free...to OKW. I took it and I am hoping my kids love that resort just as much. I figure we can always afford to stay at POP when we come back but I can't afford a $4000 vacation at OKW so we are going to do this one time!
