So excited about calling in the morning to make my first reservations "home" to SSR! Who else will be calling in the morning for reservations? When do you want to stay?
This is my first ressie as a DVC member, I'm kind of nervous about it, which is silly I know. I'm definitely going to ask for non smoking non handicapped anything else really important all you DVC veterans make sure to request?
Doc - do you know how long these hallways are going to be? Do you think we need to request near an elevator? Or is that being too picky? I personally don't mind the walk but my 4 year old wildman sprints up and down hallways and I'm always concerned about waking someone else up with his "herd like" noises.

I have no specific knowledge of the hallways at SSR. I know they will be just the right length to get from the elevator to every room on each floor! ;)

Enjoy your call to MS tomorrow. Be prepared for a little wait- Mondays are always busy anyway and with the start of reservations for SSR owners, it will likely be extra busy.

Just enjoy the Disney music while you wait!

Enjoy!

ME TOO!!! I'll be calling in the morning...I am so excited just thinking about it.
I will be requesting a 2 bedroom, non smoking and non handicap too.

I'll be trying for the first week in October...but am open for anything up until the 2nd week in Dec.

Your worried about your 4 year old sprinting down the hall and I am worried about dh and me crawling down the hall...we will be the OLD people...LOL

Good Luck everyone calling for a first trip home!

cbrothers- I definitely don't mind staying far from the elevator to leave the close rooms for the OLD people, lol!
My only request is that none of the OLD people attack my son with their canes as he is whirlwinding it down the hall! LOL! :p
Loved your post!

I will be calling in the morning to make 2 reservations. I have a number of dates available, so I am hoping it will go well.

Personally - my only request will be for non-smoking. Looking for a studio for both trips

Good luck everyone - we should have some interesting stories to tell of our first experience!!!

I'm waiting until Wednesday, I forgot to ask if I could get the time off! Silly me!

I hope everybody gets what they want!

I think we are all gonna be a little nervous, I know this is gonna be a new experience for me!

DD and I want to go for Halloween! It sounds wonderful and I get to go Trick or Treating!

:jumping1:

Pixie Dust and Magical Wishes!

PS You're only as OLD as you Feel! At Disney, everybody is YOUNG Again!

I hope you all get rooms you want, based on the age specific requirements you have! I remember the thrill I had when I made the reservation for our upcoming trip. We bought an add-on, 50 points at the VWL and thought we would just bank the points this first year, well, here we are, nearly home. We had MB for the rest of our points, and truly thought we could wait until March '04!

Not sure if I want to call - or make the request via DVC web site. DVC advertises there reservations as first come first serve. Wondering - do they take the fax / web / phone requests all as first come first serve?

Any input?

OH - and we are trying for the last week in June. Have 2 teens graduating HS - One leaving for the Army in July

Phone calls are answered in the order they were received (first come/first served). Email requests will be answered usually within 48 hours. One nice thing about email requests is that you will get an email confirmation as well as the printed confirmation. If it's a reservation that will be fairly simple, email will be a good way to handle it. If your request is at all time sensitive, a phone call may be safer.

Good Luck and enjoy the experience.

Count me in as a first time caller in the morning. I'll be trying for a 1 BR during the last week of Sept. We're flexible though and wouldn't mind into Oct so we can take advantage of Food & Wine and MNSSHP. I think future requests will only be for a studio (only 2 of us) but we want to splurge on our first trip home. I realized we'll be spoiled by the 1 BR and may not want to go back to a studio, but we'll take our chances.

I'm not quite cane old, so you son is safe from me! LOL
I also love kids so he can zip, dart and whirlwind past my door anytime!!!

I assume maybe we can call back or even email DVC to add that request?

One thing I thought was interesting was the CM said "Now I'm putting you in for non smoking, will that be ok? " before I even asked...Is that the norm?
THen I said oh yes! And could you please also put me down for non handicapped, upper floor, near an elevator?
When she repeated it back to me she said you want a handicapped room, and I about had a heartattack! I hope she understood me in the end.
BY the way the she was giggling at me also, my enthusiasm must have been very apparent:tongue:
