don't wanna open a can of worms here......
Nope. In fact, even dinner at Palo isn't formal (except on the formal nights). The suggested dress for dinner at Palo is simply, "jacket recommended; no shorts or jeans please." That leaves a lot of room for interpretation.

For Brunch and Tea, the attire at Palo is simply "Resort Casual."

It's a casually elegant sort of place. So, Palo is a good place to dress accordingly.

Mary - I am curious who encouraged you to wear shorts, because my navigator for Wednesday clearly says Suggested Evening Attire: Mexican, Tropical, Casual (no shorts or jeans, please) I'm not taking a stand on that issue, just trolling the literal waters.

Our servers encouraged us by saying Mexicali night - have fun - dress comfortably. Our navigator shows dinner dress as Mexican Attire. The only place shorts are mentioned is next to Palo where it does say no shorts or jeans please.

I wouldn't say that you would have to wear a gown because I wore a nice short dress last time and I didn't look out of place. My father wore a nice suite. I would suggest not reanting one because the prices are really high. But that is my opinion. As for woman, I would say wear a dress or a black skirt. I don't think that a gown is really nessesary to bring on a cruise, but if you want to, It is not up to me.:)

Mexicali night is supposed to be a fun, more casual night. I think that shorts would be ok for this night. But for other nights I would try to stay away from shorts.

I went on a disney cruise last year and we had tropicali night. Every one was pretty casualy dressed. So I would not get to dressed up for tropicali night or mexicali night. :D

We are leaving for our first Disney cruise in a couple of weeks and I am confused about packing my carry-on bags. I have read in various places (including this thread) that you should carry-on your dinner clothes for the first night because your luggage may be late. We are driving from WDW to the Port and checking our bags

There was a code on our Key to the World door key/pass. It said, "PTAP Table 76." This indicated we were at Parrot Cay, Triton's, Animator's Pallate, and Parrot Cay again, in that order. Also, we got a dining schedule at check in. So wait until check in, grab he outfit you need, and you'll be set.
