I've never stayed 1st floor before & was curious about what it would be like to have a patio, but I'm worried about how it will affect the view.

I've been studying InstImpres's descriptions (Great info btw...THANK YOU SO MUCH)....& people have only mentioned seeing lake, pool, EWP, or Wishes from rooms on the 4th or 5th floor.

Has anyone stayed in a 1st floor with a great view? Does anyone know what you might not get a good view from if you are on a lower floor.

Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!

We've had 1st floor villas at VWL twice, and love it. There is no "view" of the lake etc. I don't believe that you will have a view of the pool, lake, MK or anything else beyound a little greenery. It worked out well for our two and four year olds to have that grassy area right out side of our room.:earsboy:
Hope that helps!

Thanks...that does help very much. I will have little ones too. 1st floor sounds nice. Thanks!

We had a first floor in October-1508-a 1 br villa.

It looked at the walkway and main lodge.

We were generally happy with the patio but the view was nothing exciting. It was very quiet most of the time.

I'd rather be higher up with a pool or lake view/partial view next time.

We had studio 1514 in May '03 and enjoyed it. At least I did, don't remember DH being out there much! It did face the walkway to bus and the lodge. Sometimes it was fun to hear folks talking about what they would be doing, what they had done, etc. Not so pleasant when parents were "fussing" with the kids, which didn't happen but once or twice. It was a quiet location.

This studio is "dedicated" and has no connecting door to another room. It was very spacious. Very close to the entrance from the walkway and not far to the outside door to the walkway to the boat dock.

One warning: Don't open the drapes unless you know the work crews aren't there!! They were cleaning up the foliage one day when I opened the drapes. What a surprise!

I think it would be great to have a bit of play space for small ones.

WE had a 1st floor studio once. It was fine. It faced the main lodge and the walkway. It was a dedicated studio. I'd take it again!

I have been in a couple of first floor rooms over the years, although not at VWL. You don't get much of a "view" on a first floor room, but what you lack in view, you make up for in space to roam around outside a little, which is probably good for someone with kids. A little "blowing off steam" space.

My guess is that any view in a 1st floor VWL room would be woods, pool, or front sidewalk. None of which are terrible, IMHO.
