1st Experience w/Reservations

That's why I would like online reservations!!! Not the rude CM's!!! ... but the ability to check out a few senerios (dates, resorts, rooms, airfare, etc.) at my leasure. Most likely late at night after kids are sound asleep and I should be!!:)

the most part I have had difficulty getting off the phone as the cm,s want to know about Ireland and my accent However I have come across the same cm several times who was quite rude.

I have made countless calls to Member services. And At times. I am probably pretty annoying, ( Inever have my member number available) In all my calls, I have only 2 problems, One was a problem where I could not understand an accent, I just begged off and called right back and got someone else. However I had one male CM in January I think? Who was extremley rude. But just this one in 5 years. I guess you could probably say your first time was not a charm! But is definately not the norm.

Count me with those that have been very impressed by MS.

I have always been impressed by MS and never found them to be rude. Actually sometimes their patience overwhelms me.
Try making a reservation for Thanksgiving week. Then call back to make airline reservations for 8 people, arriving 2 different days, departing together and using 4 different credit cards! What a great CM! She was wonderful and patient and helpful. I can't imagine a regular TA or airline being so patient with me. They even suggest the best airfare/car rental no matter what my particular request may be. They ask if I have a preference for airline/car rental but feel free to suggest another if the price is better. That really helps me.

Yes sometimes they are rushed especially on Monday mornings so I try to avoid that time frame. And when 'special' things are offered such as the Member Gathering or DVC cruise it can get a bit hairy with so many people calling at once. But I have never felt rushed to get off the phone if I still had details to work out.

I have called to ask questions and often have gotten helpful information that I did not specifically ask for. I agree that the more flexible you are the better. We have called for reservations just a few weeks before we were planning to go. We had a 2-3 week window when we could go and left the resort up to MS. Yes a waitlist was involved which came through and we had a wonderful time as usual.
I just love the MS CMs and the great job they do!:sunny: ::yes::

I get all kinds of CMs. For the most part, they are very friendly and nice. I always do a silent "yessssss" when I get Amber because she is really knowledgeable and usually gets reservations for me even when the computer says they're not there!

I have had some CMs though that are hard to understand. I've also encountered some that truly don't know what they are doing. I try to be sympathetic thinking that they could be new and learning...but sometimes its frustrating because I'm having to wait a really long time for just a simple inquiry.

All in all I've had pretty good luck ;) Better luck next time...and welcome home! :wave2:

We have always had good experiences with MS. Usually they are very helpful and courteous. I dont completely know the situation but it sounds like you may have called with a lot of vagueness as to when and where you wanted to stay.
Most DVCers know the dates when they want to stay and where they want to stay when making ressies and I would tend to think MS is used to this.
Our first ressie, the dates werent working exactly as we would prefer but MS worked with us and found other dates within the same timeframe.
Again not knowing the exact situation, and not trying to defend MS, but you will probably not experience this again.
Good luck on the next time!

Thanks everyone for your feedback. It sounds like I had an isolated incident with Member Services. It was just disappointing that it happened the first time I called.

As far as checking air availability, I probably should have stated that it took all of about 30-45 seconds to check flights once the MS agent advised something was available on certain dates. I work for one of the largest Travel Providers in the US and was directly connected to Sabre (airline reservation system). So the time it took to check air availability was not unreasonable in my opinion.

Thanks again for your feedback. I look forward to future pleasant experiences with Member Services.
