1st DVC Trip - What to Bring with Us

Hi All -

We are making our first DVC to the BWV and BCV at the end of the month for 7 days. At one time I saw a list someone came up with of things should bring with us from home.

Can someone point me in the right direction of that link??

Hi sully, and welcome to The DIS! At least for the way my wife and I vacation, it is not 'what do we bring', but rather 'what don't we bring'. It really depends on how much you plan to cook, and stuff like that. We do absolutely zero cooking (we do use the coffee maker, fridg, and possibly the micro), so we don't need all the cooking paraphernalia. If you get a 1br or larger you will not need as many clothes, as it is easy to do a load before the parks, then dry while you sleep.

I agree with Maistre Gracey, I try to bring as little as possible. THis is my vacation after all. You can usually get whatever you need from housekeeping. If you're big coffee drinkers, I would suggest you bring your own coffee, as it is expensive in the store there.

We went for the first time in Dec. We do not cook in the room either so that is not an issue for us. We did go to Winn Dixie when we were there and loaded up on water, gatorade, etc. I brought the pre-measured coffee filters with me and a suggestion I read on here before I left was to bring those laundry "tabs." You just drop 1-2 in start the load. I thought they were very convenient. There is a start supply of Palmolive, dishwashing soap, bar soap, etc. Two separate days I asked a cleaning lady for a few packets of dishwashing soap and they did not hesitate to supply these extras.

Don't over pack, is the lesson to learn. Although, I think I am still learning! I've always packed too much, and have to learn to cut back myself. Having the washer/dryer in the room is the absolute best thing! I was in heaven!!
