First trip as DVC members...

Take a break from lame presidential election and vote on where we should stay!

- Going in mid October using developer points for 4 nights
- Mom, Dad, 3 kids: 6, 5, 2 and Gramma
- Will be coming back to room each day for naps/swim so would like to keep travel times to a miniumum
- Planning on MK for 3 half-days with half-days at DHS, AK and EP

Vote and if have time, let me know why you chose what you chose.

Thanks in advance for helping 3 adorable children (in my opinion anyway) have a great vacation.

I voted for AKV since that is one of your homes, and this is your first trip. My other consideration was BCV or BWV since it is Food & Wine at Epcot. But that might make it difficult to get either of them at 7 months out. If you pick AKV you could use your 11 month window. (Or at least do that and switch and 7 mo. if available.)

I voted VWL since you are spending a lot of time at MK and you have small children. This resort is great with kids. Enjoy!

Since you will be spending so much time at MK, I voted for VWL.

Another vote for VWL because of its proximity to MK, but if its booked up I'd go for BCV or BWV.

I voted for AKV, but only because that is one of your home resorts. You should go 'home' for your first DVC trip.

why? Easy, fun boat ride to MK--easy to get back and forth. Smaller set of villas hooked into WL, so you can easily use WL facilities and not a lot of walking. Short boat ride to Ft. W where you can go to fun Chip and Dale campfire and sing-a-long (free) and you kids will LOVE it.
My Mom LOVES to sit in WL and people watch.

If your little ones like to spend time in the pool then I vote for SSR. They have a great "zero entry" pool and 2 really fun "splash pads". In addition, if the kids nap, one parent can easily escape to DTD for shopping or to grad food.
For food, kids love Rain Forest Cafe and the Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck express have easy family friendly take out meals. The boat ride to DTD is fun too!!

I voted AKV, because that is where it looks like you own...although with your name, it might be SSR, in which case I would vote for that. I think it is important to make your first trip to your home resort...it sets your expectations and usually keeps you from doubting buying there. If you go stay at another resort and really enjoy your stay, you will be less likely to "want" to go to your home resort....where as, if you go and really enjoy your "home", you will enjoy checking out other resorts, but still consider your first one your home. Voted OKW. With 3 adults and 3 kids, I'd want the extra space that OKW provides. Plus, OKW is a beautiful resort and my kids LOVE the pool there.

You can't go wrong no matter where you stay! Have a GREAT trip! :goodvibes

Another vote for VWL. Great resort. Close to MK. Can also take the boat to CR for Chef Mickey's. Beautiful resort with a view to die for. There is also a man made beach where the kids can play in the sand while you lounge in a chair with a frozen drink!! Read a book, and soak in the sunshine. You can also watch the Electrical Parade at night from the beach. Have a great time

VWL. No doubt. Take the boat to MK. It's a dedicated boat now. You'll only wait 10 minutes for it tops.

I voted for AKV. You should have that first DVC trip at your home resort, to make those first special memories at your home resort. Go bond with AKV!

I voted OKW. With 6 people in your party, you will need the extra space. Now I know that it is not close to MK, but the bus ride is quick and easy. The kids will enjoy it, too. Stayed at OKW in Oct. 2006 and found the OKW a wonderful place to stay. I also remember that there are little or no lines during that time of year in all the parks. So getting to the parks is not a going to as urgent as other times of the year. Good pools and lots of space will be very much appreciated!

I voted VWL since you are spending a lot of time at MK and you have small children. This resort is great with kids. Enjoy!
Same pick, same reason.

The boatride to MK from VWL is a treat in itself! VWL my choice. We are DGP of 3, and they were 1, 2, and 3 when we first took them to WDW, and we picked VWL as our first resort with extended family together. We picked it for our second, and now for our 3rd trip this year!
