Ok, so I am going to arrive at WDW on Dec 9th, and may very well not get there until somewhere between 7 - 10 at night. Any ideas for the first night there?

What good resteraunts would still be open at that time?
What time do the shops at DTD close that time of year?
How about the Adventure Club? Could someone give me details about what that's like?
What's the latest the run carriage rides at POFQ?
Would it be possible to stop by the Scat Cat club (I think that's the right name - the little jazz bar in POFQ) and get some appetizer's to eat by the pool?
If Scat Cat is open, would the Jazz Player be playing at that time that night? (It would be a saturday).

Those are the ideas I've had... does anyone else have any others? popcorn::

No matter when we arrive, late or early, we do about the same on first day as a tradition. We like to stroll DTD, alittle shopping to get us accumated for WDW and pick up a few odds and ends. Most always, per tradition, we end the evening at FW, Trails End for pizza and pitchers of beer. We boat there from either CR or WL and catch the Water Pageant from FW shore. The Settlement Trading Post has some groceries items we pick through and we've been doing the Trails End pizza for years. We sit around and laugh and remake plans for the stay, hardly anyone is the place and we seem to have it all to ourselves deep in the heart of Disney. Sometimes we catch the fireworks over MK during this run and return to our resort for the pool and a few more beverages before retiring for the night.

We have, we're AP holders, gone to the MK just for some Casey's hot dogs to take back to the resort. Everyone has their favorite thing or food for starting a vacation but ours is all here. We make our memories and happy places to begin our stay.

DF and I will be arriving at POFQ at about 7:00 we are going to run to the grocery store and if our luggage is back from DME then we will un-pack and take the boat to DTD if luggage isn't there then we will just go to DTD! We just want to take it easy so we can go crazy the rest of the trip. This could all change in 4 mnths and if our flight times change again w/ Delta for now this is the plan! WHOO HOO!

My advice would be a monorail ride around EPCOT and then stay on the monorail and stop at one of the monorail resorts for dinner (Poly, Grand Floridian or Contemporary). They are all great.

Then get a taxi back to your resort and turn in early.

You didn't say where you will be staying.

After much consideration I have finally decided on a final plan.
We will arrive at WDW at roughly 8:00 make our way to the Poly where we will catch the water parade at 9:00 and then up to Kona Cafe for a 9:20 ADR. (They close at 10). Then on to the French Quarter and bed. :sunny:
