Hello everyone,

I will be at Universal on July 14th (a bad day according to crowd calendars) and at IOA on July 15th, a Sunday.

We are a family of 3, including a 4 years old. We intend to to do the biggest thrill rides only if she falls asleep in her stroller in the PM (by switching or using single lanes, 1 parent at a time)

We have 1 day at each park, and cannot hop.

At Universal, I think our Not to miss rides are :

MEN IN BLACK™ Alien Attack
Shrek 4-D
The Simpsons Ride™
Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster®

We have reserved a character breakfast with Dora and Diego; and will have 'special' viewing for the parade.

At IOA, I think our NOT to miss rides are :

We have early entry at WWOHP on that day, so we'll start with :
FJ (me only!!) and the rest of HP world.

Spiderman
Dr. Seuss area: The Cat in the Hat, The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride!
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls®
One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish™
Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges®

See Poséidon underwater adventures.

Am I missing something huge?

Thank you!

The new Despicible Me Minion Mayhem ride will have already had its grand opening by then. I haven't personally gone on it yet, but I have heard that it is really awesome.
If your 4yo is too small for FJ, or you have people who don't want to ride you should jump in the single rider line (usually just a few minutes since you are early access) Then your whole family can go through and do the "castle tour". Everyone will get to see the inside of the castle and the talking portraits which is really cool for the little ones (and anyone who is a HP nerd, lol).
Also all of the big rides have child swap. The first parent would ride while the second parent waits in a little room (at FJ they have a tv with the first movie playing, not sure about the other rides), then when the first person is done riding they swap places. And, since it is just 2 adults and a little one you can go up the single rider line and do a swap so you would only have to wait in line once.
Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Thank you, this was very helpful! Maybe I'll ask another question : should we bring the stroller? We'll do in WDW, is Universal as big?

Both IoA and the Studios are each roughly the size of Magic Kingdom. Unlike the four Disney parks, the two Universal parks are only a short walk apart.

My almost 5 year old and I were at Universal last weekend. I sold his stroller a while back but was really missing it on the way INTO the parks. I would say if you are staying onsite you don't need it. But, if you are staying offsite, just getting from the parking lot, to the hub, to City Walk, to the park, tired my son out.

By the way, this trip was really just for him, and primarily for his obsession with Despicable Me, so I can't comment on adult rides, but he LOVED the Curious George and Dr. Seuss water areas. Was so glad I had brought his bathing suit and a towel each day.

Have fun!

As the pp suggested, with a 4 year old, make time for the water play areas at the Studios especially since you're going in July. ;)

Thank you! I guess I'll put her 2 piece bathing suit under her clothes. She'll be VERY happy!
