Yes. I always read labels before I buy. :goodvibes

And then I read again before taking anything I don't take regularly (like cold meds, allergy meds, Pepto, etc). ;)

The formula was changed several years ago to a salicylate-based formula. The newer children's only formula now needs to be used for kids because of the danger of Reye's syndrome in the salicylate version. Pepto Bismol used to be routinely recommended to treat digestive problems in pets, but that has changed too with the change in formula. Dogs can tolerate small amounts of salicylates and some vets still recommend original Pepto Bismol for dogs, but cats are particularly sensitive to aspirin and can become ill and even die if they ingest salicylates.

Yep - the Pediatrician told us not to ever give kids Pepto b/c of the aspirin in it and the link to Reye's Syndrome.

Hope your tummy feels better soon. Have you considered taking a daily probiotic? DD10 has horrible tummy problems and has benefitted enormously from probiotics. When she does have a bad stomach ache then nothing works better for her than Rolaids - the sodium bicarbonate and simethicone combo seem to work better than any other OTC remedy.

Yes - one of my doctors suggested a particular one that I have been taking and it seems to be working quite well..:thumbsup2

If I have an "acid" stomach, I use the Alka Seltzer Gold - that has no aspirin in it..

So the kids version is a no-no too? I'll have to mention that to my DD..

I think the kids version has no aspirin in it - check the label. NEVER give children the adult pepto bismol though. There is a kids Mylanta that are pink chewy tablets that work pretty well.
