As seniors who watched their 401K retirement take a huge tumble the past few weeks, we were very pleased to hear of a 5.8% SS raise indeed. Amen medicare is not going to increase for once! It's nice to have a little good news in the mist of such economic turmoil. Also a plus for us, this baby boomer is finally old enough to join the ranks of being a SS recipient in Dec.! Thinking positive that 2009 will hold good things in store for all of us!

Interesting, isn't it? Today, once again, I was checking on my 401K. I was looking at other places to put it. There is a "Fannie Mae" fund listed. It's the only of the more than 50 in a listing (well there might be 4) that is actually making money. All the others are in the tank. Didn't Fannie Mae help get us in this mess?

P.S. Will look forward to that increase. However, I don't think that's going to begin to offset the 401K's 39.7 drop.
