Is the dinner at 1900 Park Fare really as bad as I've heard? I do my ADRs in a couple of weeks and I'm wanting to do this ressie as a surprise for a Cinderella fan in our group. Now I'm not so sure... :( Thanks.

Our dinner experience at 1900 PF was wonderful. The food was delicious, there was a huge variety, many options that were far better than your standard buffet, and the character interaction was the absolute best. I was hesitant to keep our reservation prior to our trip due to the less than stellar reviews, but I'm so glad I didn't cancel it. We loved it!

I second this. In fact, after looking at the CRT menu, we convinced DD to go back here this time!

Strawberry soup= Mmmmmm

We had a great dinner there last trip. The food was fresh, well prepared and the offered many choices outside of the typical buffet offerings. And I don't think that you can beat the characters. The step family is hilarious! But we loved it so much that I just booked us fro breakfast and dinner next trip.

Another positive review here. We love 1900 PF! Some of our best Disney memories have been from this meal! We think the food is great!! I have no idea why so many ppl dont like it. I will say the desserts are kinda lousy, but usually Im too full to eat much of it anyway. Keep your ADR. Its a great place to dine!

the food was good but the step sisters scared my cousins 4 year old to death so they had to leave. :rotfl2: but did not see cinderella there was mary poppins and other princess the night we there:confused3

In my opinion, 1900 Park Fare has the best character interaction. I haven't done everywhere else, but we did 4 character meals on our honeymoon, and while the food was pretty lousy at all of them, 1900 Park Fare redeemed itself with the characters.
The food wasn't great, and we waited there longer than anywhere else, but it's the character meal I recommend to everyone I know who goes to Disney.

1) I think you are confusing 1900 with Chef Mickey's.
2) Or, maybe the new menu at CRT.
3) Never been disappinted at 1900.
4) OK, so I wish it were cheaper.
5) But, other than that, no.

I've only been once, for dinner in feb, and the food was just fine and well presented. While I didn't find the character "interaction" (as in the time that the characters spent at our table interacting with my family) to be any better than most places, the show aspect of the step sisters and their antics, the dance between cindy and prince, etc was very cute.

I really liked it and wouldn't hesitate to return!

I thought the food was VERY disappointing. The step sisters were HILARIOUS, glad i went once. But no way im returning.

Go where you WANT!!! I have been disappointed in places that others raved about and I have also been pleasantly surprised with restaurants that others thought weren't worth eating at. Look at the menu...only you know what you like! And if you get there and the food doesn't satisfy, at least you'll have had some character interaction!

I totally agree with this. ive had the same experience. I was also disappointed with places ppl rave about, and ive like a few places most found awful. So you just never know. If you wanna go, go! Look at the menu and decide that way. As the pp said, at least you'll get some character interaction.

We've done dinner here twice, and although the character interacation was awesome, we were not impressed by the food. It wasn't disgusting, but we did not think it was good...especiallly for being in the GF. We are trying CRT for next trip, but will probably return to 1900 to try breakfast and also to enjoy Cindereella and the step sisters for dinner again!

FYI, the breakfast at 1900 PF is awesome! So incredibly yummy. I highly recommend it. And Mad Hatter is quite funny. :thumbsup2

we loved 1900 PF dinner :confused3. lots of variety with regards to food, restraunt itself was clean, food was well prepared, and there was something for everyone! desserts were great!

character interaction was :thumbsup2. the step-mother and step-sisters were spot-on and ridiculously funny!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and comments. My one friend loves Cinderella and I've heard so much about the stepsisters that I think that I'm going to try it for my friend's B-Day surprise. It's true that not everyone likes the same food and like one poster said, "If it sounds good and you want to try it, go." I appreciate everyone's input and help.

My husband and I just made ressies for 1900 for our first trip without our kids!! I know, I know, it may seem strange, but we used to love this place when our kids were little. We haven't done it in years, but it was actually my husband's idea as he always loved the dinner buffet. It will be bittersweet without our kids, but we are really looking forward to going and seeing the characters!!!

Enjoy The Magic!!

We went for the first time in February and LOVED it! Party of 8 and everyone really really enjoyed it! I loved the mashed potatoes - mixed in some horseradish cream...yum.

Everything I tried was fresh and tasty!

We've gone twice now, once in 2009 and we did not like it at that time. Food was mediocore and service was the same.:( Characters were good (although DS did not like Lady Trumaine).
Well we decided to give it another try last year and we were soooooooo glad we did. :thumbsup2
The meal was great, even my picky DS loved it, the server was AWESOME and the characters were fantastic.
We had Cinderella, Prince Charming, the Stepsister and the Fairy Godmother and they were fabulous. My DS got a kick out of the Stepsisters remembering his name when they would go by and flirt as they do will all the guys.
When I started making the list for our ADR's for our trip this year DS said this is a must do.:thumbsup2
