Any recent visitors to 1900 for breakfast or dinner? Does this book up early like Cindy's? Which is more enjoyable for kids--breakfast or dinner? Our kids are six and five. We are going in October if that matters. Thanks for any input! :goodvibes

We're going in early Oct. I booked for 1 night, no problem. We were thinking of changing our trip dates, I tried to secure 1900 PF for a diff't night for dinner...all booked until 8pm! Have heard good things about both b & d but we opted for dinner.

we always go for breakfast and love it, have never been to dinner though, but i'm sure it is great too! :sunny:

This is my favorite character buffet, even though it a buffet it doesn't have that same chaos the other buffet's have. Also it seems to becoming more popular in choices and is booking up earlier.

Although I love both breakfast and dinner here, I'm a Pooh lover and given the choice would pick Crystal Palace for breakfast.

Park Fare is still the best of the no-park entrance character meals and an easy stop on the monorail loop.

In my book this is a must-do character meal. Love it! Love it! Love it! Plus you can stroll around the GF after and check-out this beautiful resort.

If you have any Cinderella-lovers in your family, go for dinner! My dd (3.5 yo) talks all the time about seeing Cinderella and Prince Charming. However, it's not just the character interaction that is good...the food is awesome. For me to say this is great praise. I really don't care for buffets, but I loved this one. Be forewarned that 1900 can be loud and crazy during peak hours (earlier than many restaurants due to the large number of families with young children that frequent this establishment). Since my children are nightowls anyway, I try to make a reservation for shortly before 8 pm. By then, this place is already emptying-out. Thus, you will receive more character time. Dining later here does not mean you will feel rushed to hurry-up-and-leave so the staff can go home. During our visits, the food on the buffet continued to be replenished and service was fantastic. All-in-all, it was quite relaxing.

My DD loves Mary Poppins, so we went for breakfast. We liked the food better than CP breakfast and it was less crowded, so we had more time with the characters. We had a 9:00 seating and spent about 5 minutes alone with Mary Poppins in the lobby, then Pooh, Tigger, Alice and the Mad Hatter visited. Mad Hatter played a with DS and even fed him a few bites! Alice pulled him out of the highchair for pictures and we really enjoyed our time there!

Just had the character breakfast here last Sunday. It is my favorite of all the breakfast buffets. Mary Poppins and Alice in Wonderland are big at breakfast time. Great food without the usual chaos.

We also did Donaldsaurus for breakfast in Animal Kingdom at eight am.
The characters are the main focus here, not the food. Kinda trough like.
However that eight am ressie got us onto Expedition Everest in one of the first cars. And grabbed a fast pass before that first ride. Expedition Everest is my new favorite!!!

We had the dinner buffet last Wednesday and loved it. Not only was Cinderella, Suzy, Perla, and Prince Charming there, but Snow White as greeting guests at the entrance instead of the Fairy Godmother. That just happened to be who our daughter was dressed as after the Bippidi Boppidi Boutique, so it became an even bigger treat for her.

As for the food, it was wonderful. It is varied, fresh, and constantly replenished. It has some typical fare such as prime rib, salad, fruit, and soups, but it also carries things like curried chicken with Israeli couscous, prepared as you watch shrimp & fresh asparagus alfredo, portobello ravioli, bread pudding, and even bananas foster! Yeah, the guy flames them right there at the dessert bar for you. Our server was very attentive, yet not pushy. The character interaction was good, especially the Prince who danced with many of the young girls as the music played.

It was our first, but definitely not our last, trip to 1900 Park Fare. :thumbsup2

Never did the breakfast but the dinner was wonderful. We was there just this past Saturday evening for dinner. DD's pre 16th birthday ;) DD is a very very picky eater and usually won't try new foods or if the food looks slightly different than she gets at home she won't usually touch it but she tried many new foods at the buffet and enjoyed them some of her usual foods on her very limited diet she didn't care for.

DD's 1st choice had been breakfast with Cinderella in the castle but once that breakfast changed a few months ago DD decided she'd enjoy 1900 much much more and I think we all did I know DD did.

I seem to be in the minority here, but we tried the character dinner in March and just thought it was OK. I can't really put my finger on just anything that our family didn't like, but I also can't say anything that we thought was terribly great. I did enjoy seeing Cinderella and Prince Charming (I even had my picture taken with the prince!) as we've never done a character meal with them. The food was pretty good, but not that special either. The place was crawling with crying children the evening we were there--this may have affected our perception of the overall atmosphere.

The highlight of the evening was touring the beautiful grounds of the Grand Floridian after dinner. I don't think we'd try that particular character meal again, but I'd love to go back to the hotel!

Maybe it was just an off night...I think everyone should give it a try themselves and then make a decision about whether they want to return.
Have a great trip!

We've done both dinner and breakfast and loved both. Both DH and I felt it was the best breakfast we've had at WDW. That said, if you don't have a preferance for breakfast or dinner, I would decide by which characters your kids would enjoy seeing. My DD -2 at the time was a Mary Poppins fanatic and that is why we did the breakfast. Tigger and Pooh were there as were Alice and Mad Hatter. My kids weren't that into Pooh or Alice but Alice and the Mad Hatter were wonderful. The Mad Hatter in particular was quite entertaining and spent a lot of time with us. Alice told us that she came up with the idea of the tea cups for a ride when she was falling down the tunnel and was spinning and she thought it would be a fun ride. We had a late breakfast (we were driving home afterwards) and Mary Poppins had been outside greeting people but came inside to talk after most of the guest had left. DD6 chose the Cinderella dinner as the one place she wanted to dine for her birthday (over the castle- really surprised me but I was glad as I like it better too) She is the Cinderella girl! You really wont go wrong with either meal.
